Ideal for early years to KS1 children who are learning at home. Daisy Upton has two little kids. She loves them - but they drive her mad. So, to try and keep her sanity she started to come up with quick, easy games using stuff from around the house. And @FiveMinuteMum was born. In her first book, she has collected 150+ games that take 5 minutes to set up & 5 minutes to tidy up.From pasta posting to alphabet knock down, it's a recipe book for guilt free parenting! And as Daisy was a teaching assistant, your little ones will be learning while they play! What could be better?GIVE ME FIVE is the perfect companion for anyone who wants five minutes peace. Also Five Minute Time For School Five Minute On the Go"I love Five Minute Mum. She's managed to come up with a huge array of activities for kids that are fun and educational yet don't require an Art degree or Diploma in Patience to execute."Sarah Turner, aka Unmumsy Mum
Brilliant for ideas for entertaining (and educating) small people. All the activities are short to set up (hence the title) and can provide hours of entertainment. I love the fact that even if an activity doesn't go to plan, there are different directions a child can take it in, or indeed ignore it completely - but as you have only spent 5 minutes setting it up, it doesn't feel like a complete bust. Definitely worth a follow on instagram as well for updated or new ideas, but this book is a handy "dip into" handy book helpful to have around the house.
Easy to prepare (for parents) and very engaging games (for toddlers). The ideas in this book saved me many times when I needed a new fun challenge for my little one.
If you have Mum guilt, you need to read this book. I am currently parenting a 2 and a half year old and a 4 month old during national lockdown and feel so awful for dumping my toddler in front of the TV all the time or having her play by herself because I'm preoccupied with the baby. These five minute games are an absolute life saver and make me feel like I'm killing it.
A nice easy book to read. Lots of good, quick games and activities, some of them pretty simple and classic games already aware of, but if you have young children and don’t have any experience or know what to do with children this will give you plenty of ideas!
The bible from the OG kids activity blogger! Before finding this in the library I had been thinking to myself “I must look for this in the library” and what do you know! Crammed full of lovely ideas for quick, easy and cheap activities you can do at home and away. I feel like Daisy is particularly adept at explaining more complex subjects, like phonics, in a really accessible and less baffling way so this is great for first time parents or the parents of preschoolers in particular! Whilst there were a great selection of general ideas for little ones, I feel this book is best suited for the three year old bracket (of course, smack bang in the middle of my kids ages!) so will definitely be getting it out again in eighteen months or so for some renewed ideas 💡
Polecam zaczerpnąć nieco pomysłów i wykorzystać w zaciszu własnego domu!
This book pretty much help me to find easy and quick activities for my toddler. I like how the author write down many relatable situations for us parents with toddler.
I can definitely recommend this book to busy parents. It's all about creating fun games for your kids (roughly ages one to four) with less than five minutes prep time and clean up.
It was a fun read, and surprisingly easy to read from cover to cover, considering books like this are usually more designed to dip in and out of when needed.
It was good to read just to get ideas. I haven't used any of the listed games yet, but it's allowed me to invent a couple of quick games of my own which have been a big hit.
It really helps you to see items around your house in a different light and see how just about anything can be turned into an entertaining, and often educational, game. It shows that you really don't need to spend a lot of time or money coming up with things that kids will love to do.
