He’s a warrior, yes, but Trip has always considered himself more of a tactician. He can see what’s coming and plan for it. Until his kif’s ship is suddenly taken by space pirates, and he discovers his mate is one of the most confounding creatures he has ever met.
Luk’s people live by one rule: might is right. They see what they want, and take it. When Luk’s ship comes across an alien craft, nothing is standing in their way, except a ragtag pack of warrior aliens. One of which Luk feels indescribably drawn to. But it isn’t as easy as wanting and taking. Luk has always worked hard to be as ruthless as his brother, the captain. But Trip makes him want to be gentle.
As long as he stood with his brother, he was invincible. But now he has a mate, and when he discovers he’s pregnant, the vicious men of his ship scent weakness, something that the captain cannot accept.
To protect their child, Luk will have to rely on Trip’s brains and the strength of his kif. It undermines everything Luk has ever stood for… and if Trip can’t stay one step ahead of the pirates, they’re all doomed.
Jagher is the second book in The Kif Warriors, an alien mpreg series. This series is the first co-write between Crista and Kiki. They’ve joined forces to bring you all the humor, magic, steam and action that you enjoy!
Trip is the continuation of the Kif's adventures. They are just trying to get home when ship issues stick them dead in space. Soon they are overrun with pirates who just want to pillage and plunder their spoils. Luk sets his sights on Trip as his prize.
I enjoyed this one much more than the last one. Both Trip and Luk were likable characters. Luk has only known how to be hard to survive and get to where he is at. He needs Trip's soft touches and words to break down his hard shell and to just let go. I liked that even though Luk was a badass in of himself, he could also let his guard down and be vulnerable with Trip. And Trip was the patient and loving touch he needed.
I'm looking forward to Fazil and Rok's story next.
i feel like i'm just starting to get more and more disappointed with each one of these books i read. it wasn't a bad book by any means, i think i just let the first book set the bar for what i expected out of my alien erotica and this didn't quite hit that mark.
i will say that one thing these authors do really well is world building. if they ever wrote a mainstream sci-fi novel i'd definitely read it.
I have to say that although the whole "fated mate" (lightening) trope remains the same, I like how these books aren't following the same pattern of the MCs finding each other.
Ok. So seriously. When you guys read these alien books, am I the only weirdo trying to picture how their boy parts work and look??? Because every time I read another book in this series, their different species of aliens in play. And they always have different parts a bit. Some do different things or have different things along with them. Lol. I’m such a weirdo. ANYWAY. I really do love this series. In spite of my weirdoness. And no that’s not a real word, but hey. This was definitely a twist for this one I don’t think anyone saw coming. But it makes for an interesting story. I mean, a pirate and an honored warrior. Makes for one heck of a twist lol. Trip was trying so hard to get everyone home safely. Especially now that there were six extra little beings on board that needed to be home. But when the ship started to mess up, Trip started getting worried. He thought he may have had a plan to make things work, until the ship was rammed by another ship and pirates came aboard to take all they had. But with nothing to take, they took the kif and the families instead. And as soon as Trip touched Luk in battle for their lives, lightning struck and it was inevitable. But Luk wasn’t sure what to think about all of it. All Luk knew was that for some reason unknown to him, he felt it in his bones he had to protect Trip and his family. Especially when things got worse. Trip found lies and deception on board with the one being Luk should have killed a long time ago. And as they tried to find a way to get home, they knew they had to hurry or all their lives could be in danger. Even worse than before. You know, I feel for Luk in a way. It’s kind of funny in a sense. Here you have this bad mug of a pirate, who knew how to take care of himself, despite being a little guy, going from being a tough guy to being a pregnant one, when technically he shouldn’t be able to get pregnant. Well, surprise! Lol. I thought the poor guy was going to faint, and well, he almost did. But thankfully, Trip was gentle and understanding and tried to help and explain in every way he could. And that included protecting what was his. In the life of a pirate, there’s always danger. Always someone trying to vy for the highest position. And usually Luk did all that was necessary to show he was still the best. But now with this new development, yeah, he had to learn real quick to depend on Trip and that wasn’t sitting well with him. It would take time. But having to watch his back for so long, you learn the only one you can rely on is yourself. But again, patient and sweet Trip, did all he could to be what he could for Luk and him adjusting. After reading this one, and reading the little snippet of who is possibly next, I’m curious to see how this is going to turn out. It’s going to be interesting to say the least. But you guys, if you haven’t read this series, you should. It’s a good one. It’s fun and full of aliens that make you wonder about boy parts lol!! And it’s just good writing.
Trip is the third book inThe Kif Warriors series by Kiki Burrelli and Crista Crown. This is an interesting and highly entertaining alien mpreg romance that delivers drama, action, heat, hilarity and a touch of magic.
Trip prides himself in his ability to plan for all things to come... up until he meets Luk - A pirate trying to take over the Kip's ship... and Trip's fated mate. Now, both their worlds are turned upside down and they must rely on each other to overcome the obstacles the Kip now face.
These characters are fantastic - unique, strong, smart, funny... They make you need to keep reading their story. Not only the main characters but the supporting cast of characters... even the little babies who I absolutely adore.
The story is well written and sucks you in.I am not usually a reader of things Alien. Very few books and/or series in the theme have captured my interest enough to read.... but this book and the rest of the series made me read it. The universe created within these pages just amazed me and I can not get enough. I love it!
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
What an exciting story! Loshka and even Cillian had been so tame compared to Luk and I loved the violent side of him compared to Trip’s analytical side. I even ended up liking Rok! I can’t wait for the next book in the series to.
Also, I love how the aliens are all very different and have unique characteristics.
This was definitely a 4.5 star read for me. The author created a world that just unfolded before my eyes as I was reading. Trip and Luk were great, and i loved the supporting characters. They totally had me cracking up, and I cant wait for their books. I'm loving this series.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I love how each new mate brings a different flavor to our kif. All of the children are well loved by everyone, and the kif is immensely supportive of each other.
I mean it was good, really good if I compare it with other books from same genre but the problem starts when I compare it with other books in this series.
They all are so different and although the MO is same - Asraf meets stranger under less than favorable conditions, touch, lightning, mating, baby - each of them can still surprise with how that happens.
And out of all the stories (not counting Jagher) this one I have the biggest trouble remembering which is kind of shame. By the blurb I thought this would be my favorite and I had so much faith for Trip being my favorite support character in the first book. What happened to that nerdy, diplomatic guy? When he turned into dominant macho man? I get he's a warrior but he'd be probably my last guess out of the 6 to be this dominant, especially over someone being the same although that was actually clever move but I'd expect it at Fazil or Rahim (and I got it at on of them😉 so again it was unnecessary here. I think their pairing makes sense either way so it would also work well Trip being more on protective and supportive side. Reagarding Luk - there wasn't anything I'd mind about him but in compare to other mates he's kinda dull. Ferocious pirate turned into babies loving mush - it's nice when you read it but cliché anyway.
Much improved from book two! The editing was much better as well as the character development. The only glaring issues I noticed were 1) “obsilium“ is being spelled two different ways throughout the series: as “obsilium” and “obsillium,” and 2) Luk goes from not having nipples to having them during the birthing scene.
I enjoyed Luk as a character and getting to know Trip more. Luk is tough, but also touch starved and wants to be loved. His brother, Rok, cares for him, but they’ve been raised to believe that any show of softness makes you weak and puts you in danger.
This book has a little more spice, which was fun. But I’m still annoyed with the lack of any kind of “lube” being used. Besides that, I thoughts Luk’s prehensile dick was an imaginative addition. (Does he have balls? I can’t recall them ever being mentioned, lol.) And learning more about how the Asraf’s scales work was cool.
Two things I really wish had been included: Luk apologizing verbally and intentionally for hitting Trip, and “I love you” being said by both guys. Neither of them actually say those words to each other 😢 even if they think it.
I’m interested to see where book four goes with Rok being Fazil’s mate. Did not see that one coming. I can’t imagine Rok being lovey at all, but here’s hoping🤞🏼.
It is confusing in the beginning, too much character and name to remember to start a story. Maybe it is fine for them who follow all the series but not ok for who didn't, like me, hehe.
But the story improvement is quite good, not too fast or too slow. Even though I hope Trip will be the bottom, ehe, sorry Trip, because he seems more delicate and compose than Luk. The character itself, have a unique and good structure, I mean, one character is different than the other. So you could remember them and didn't mistook them for someone else.
Also the problem we faced here is really complicated. Luk want to be with his mate and save his family but on the other side, he have to face his own brother, his pride, and his pregnancy. This one of a good story to enjoy IMO. Especially if you're a fan of science fiction, scientific things, and hot (handsome) alien love story. But for me, I like the wildness that Kiki gave in other series more. It feels more touching, thrilling, and close to me. So, I will give this story a 4 star :)
This is book three in this series and the stories just keep getting better. Trip and Luk get their story told in this one. I could not help but find these men fascinating and endearing. They come from such different worlds but find what they need in each other. Trip always has a plan but what happens when his plan goes awry? When Luk and the pirates come upon Trip and the rest of the warriors they show no mercy but something in Trip calls to Luk. What can the two do? Will they fight their attraction or find a way to be with their mates?
This is a fast-moving story full of action and emotions. Luk and Trip must make some hard choices and they find themselves relying on the trust that has formed between them. The men are as unique as the world that they live in, yet they show just how much they care and will fight for each other. Not only do the main characters pull at your heart but the secondary characters also made themselves known. I love seeing how the men have formed a family and are always willing to help one another out. I am eager to see who will find their mate next.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
I had not read the previous books in the series, and I think I would have enjoyed this story more if I had the background. I had trouble keeping all of the members of the Kif straight (and their mates/offspring). I wasn't totally confused, but I think it would have been better if I had read the other stories first.
I rather liked the pirate ship. For all the brutality in the culture, it made for an interesting backdrop to the romance building between Trip and Luk. Luk is very dedicated to his brother Rok, acting as his second in command aboard their pirate ship. His priorities change though when he meets Trip, though he doesn't understand the connection he feels to the new prisoner he can't keep away. Trip certainly let him mouth get him into trouble in the story, but I think it with his character. They complemented each other nicely.
Omg I had been waiting to read Trips story. And it did not disappoint. Quiet and bookish Trip.. I wondered what reading about him as the Alpha mate would be like. Ughh it was gorgeous I loved his alpha protective side. I love how doting he was on Luk. How he brought out Luks sweet vulnerable and gentle side out. I loved how he fought Pol and won. How he used both his brain and his brawn. I love Luk too, love how he’s just such a sweetie inside of all that violence he puts up as a front. I love how they saved each other. Their like girl Aden is so beautiful. I loved this story so much. Can’t wait to read more. 5 big fat star.

It is great to witness how the kif warriors found their mates and formed a family, how the story develops and the dynamic between them is changing strengthening their bond. Each book can be read as standalone but I suggest to read the previous ones to enjoy more the complex plot and understand it better. Now is Trip’s turn of find his mate in Luk and the adventures and dangers they suffered to be together are worthwhile. Again, magic and love saved the day. Wonderful characters, great reading!! I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
this is the 3rd book in The Kif Warriors series. If you are looking for a twist sci fi and magic then you will love this book and series. You will fall in love with the members of the Kif. Trip has a way to get things done or solve them. That changes when their ship becomes dead in space and the Kif are taken by pirates. I love the twist in the story when we find out about Trip fated mate. They balance each other out. would recommend that you read the book in order so that you have understand of the Kif members. Highly recommend this book today if you like space pirates.
I liked book 3 in this series. How can a alien who is practically a boy scout and a lawless space pirate find love!?! It shouldn't make sense but it does.
I really liked this family dynamic. I liked hearing about the different people who make up the crew of this lawless ship. I love how the Kif changes them and I really love the action which kept up the pace in this story.
I'm very very curious what is going to happen in the next book. I know book 4 is going to take place right where this one left off and I'm sure it won't disappoint!
I liked Trip, even when he made mistakes it was clearly a spur of the moment mistake and he realizes just after what he'd done. Luk was quite the character, a mix of strong and vulnerable that was really interesting.
The poor kif is having a bumpy ride back home. I wonder how long it will take them to go back.
One thing I like about this series is how the main leads solved their problems.
Now I want to read the next book, Rok seems intriguing.
POV: dual Tropes: interstellar era, space pirates, fated mates, found family, mpreg. Spice: medium low (short detailed scenes, alien peen) CW: blood, violence, death.
Trip's romance is the hardest because he flashed with the 1st officer of the pirate ship that has captured them. The pirates are vicious and bloodthirsty. They plan to sell everyone in the kif as slaves and kill the children, they are to much trouble. This one was really good. So much to protect and try save and still try to develop a romance. Loved this book.
I really liked this addition to the series much more than the first two books. There was an actual relationship between Luk and Trip (also Fazil was hilarious) and they worked hard to understand and deal with each other and their differences. There was tension, fear, danger, action, aliens, babies, and love. I'm so excited to read Fazil's story next. Loved it.
This is such a unique world that it really does stand out from most other Mpreg. I love that the Kif is such a tight knit community. I know there is more to come but I also hope that we get a clear HEA at the end. Everything is very much in flux right now.
What can I say? These talented authors really know how to write a fantastic, grab-you-by-the-feels, snarky, smexy, and totally awesome tale guaranteed to pull you in and keep you hooked from beginning to end.
Luk is perfect, he is strong and feisty. Trip is quiet and about as movable as a mountain. Pirates fight for fun, profit, and status. But how do you fight the fates.
I liked the excitement in this book. Pirates and Aliens and challenges oh my! I wish we could've learned more about what kind of species Luk & his brother were, though. Still, it was very enjoyable!
A wonderful continuation of this quick read series. I liked the MCs and the story was about the same as the others. I like these, they are a fun short read and just enough to keep you interested but not so much you can’t put it down and get something else done.
3.5☆ ...the relationship building here is rushed and very surface level, so I'm not all that emotionally invested or moved by the romance or the lackluster sex scenes, but it's still a fun world and series.
More of a 3.5 from me. I've been reading these slowly in between my more serious school reads. I liked Luk quite a bit, but the pacing of the book seemed off and the romance too sudden, the resolution too easy. It's hard to believe they're bloodthirsty pirates.
This was a direct continuation from book 2...the Kif, mates and kids are heading home when they get caught by pirates. Luk seemed very tough at first but Trip found his gooey centre. Still loving this series and have started book 4
The boys are trying to get home. But get "rescued" by a bunch of space pirates. And of course Trip's mate is among those pirates. Lots of instalove/lust and pirate intrigue. Another solid 3.25.
