The World's Worsts

Rate this book
A compendium of the most ridiculous feats, facts, & fools of all time.

Let's face it, superlatives are depressing. For a guaranteed pick-me-up, it's much more pleasant to savor the lower range of human accomplishment. For example, the battle deeds of Napoleon and Alexander the Great pale before those of France's Philip VI, who lost 4,000 men (one-third of his fighting force) to a mere 100 English soldiers in the Battle of Crécy. And what member of Generation Debt will not enjoy this book's listing of moguls who fortunes went south? The World's Worsts contains hundreds of interesting items, including compilations of the calorie and fat content of Chinese main courses and a top ten list of Hollywood's worst movie accents. A trivia treat.

Just exactly what it sounds like: a list of failures, flops, and icks arranged loosely in groups titled "People", "Places", and "Things." There are lists of everything from Heat Wave Casualties to Movie Accents.

This must have a been a fun book to compile. The only thing I miss is an index, which wouldn't have been that hard to add.

This was just plain funny. Some of it was just ridiculous but I guess I couldn't expect anything else from a book like this. Good grief.
