Adrienne is looking forward to the scrapbooking cruise, especially when she learns that her friend Minnie’s daughter, Vanessa, is joining them as a guest!
However, Minnie and Addi's friends Cece and Greg Washington all seem to be acting rather strangely, and Addi can’t understand what’s gotten into them.
Before she can figure out the bizarre behavior of the crew, this cruise’s guest of honor, scrapbooking superstar Irina Clark is murdered, and all signs point to Vanessa as the culprit. Could Minnie's daughter really have done it?
Unfortunately, the Captain finds out what Minnie, Cece and Greg are up to– and he accuses Addi and First Officer Ethan Lee of being part of their scheme. According to the Captain, what the gang has been up to is grounds for termination.
Could this be the Adrienne and her friends' last adventure on board the Swan of the Seas?

Cruise Catastrophe is the eighth book in the Cruise Ship Mystery Series. Though it can be read as a standalone, it's best read in series order.
This is a humorous cozy mystery featuring a strong female protagonist, some unusual friends and co-workers, and a mystery that needs solving! It has no graphic gore, bad language or sex.
Another fun cruise murder and mystery! I'm not sure how many stars to give it. This storyline was much more exciting than a few of the others and a lot was revealed about the mystery man and the captain! I enjoyed this one and will keep reading to find out how the series ends. But I just keep shaking my head at how implausible some of the characters actions are. For example CeCe as a housekeeper would never be allowed to lounge by the guest pool in her bikini or go to the nightclub with passengers and even as a Social Media Manager, Adrienne would not be able to eat at these buffets like she does. I'm trying to allow for artistic license but as someone whose cruised a lot, I wish it was a little more authentic.

This is a great little series of books about a cruise ship and a handful of it's staff. Light and easy to read.
Surprised they get any customers when every time they go out someone on board is murdered. However, that aside, they are usually entertaining.
This one, about scrapbooking, was a little bit too focused on that subject and contained largely irrelevant information that did tend to get somewhat boring at times.
I like the way the relationships slowly develop as the books progress, keeping the reader interested and looking to the next one in the series all the time.
I really enjoy this series. All of the cruises are different with lots of themes. This was a scrapbooking cruise. I don't scrapbook but I still enjoyed the storyline. It's nice to learn more about different topics just by enjoying a good book. I love the characters and can only hope that Adrienne and Ethan will grow as a couple. Now back to reality. Cruise is over! LOL! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I continue to enjoy this series even though I don't know how a cruise ship that has a murder on every cruise can stay afloat (pun intended). Scrapbooking was the theme for this cruise. I did notice that with this one and the previous one, Cece, the one who works in housekeeping, isn't around as much. I think she's the most hilarious of the characters. Whenever I feel the need for some levity and fun reading, I can count on sailing away on one of these cruises with Adrienne.
Adrienne and her friends always crack me up with the situations they get into during a cruise. Mistakenly thinking they’d have it easy-peasy with a bunch of scrapbookers on board, murder and mayhem eventually followed. The best scene was when they lured a killer to a trap—no worries, it was carefully planned and executed. Part of the ongoing side mystery was solved along with the main mystery. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I don't know how she does it. I read 2 great books by AR Winters this week. They were from different series & equally great. She writes great characters, & comes up with great story lines. I recommend Cruise Catastrophe, as well as anything else by AR Winters. If you like Cozy Mysteries, you won't go wrong with a book by AR Winters!
Another fun romp from A.R. Winters. This time it involves glitter, glue, scissors and more quirky, realistic characters. Heroine Addy reminds me of Lucille Ball in "I Love Lucy". She is prone to hilarious, embarrassing, accidents as she uses her friends and her detective skills to solve the latest crime. I can't wait to see what happens next!
I have enjoyed all the books from this series. The characters are fun and the plot always interesting. Who knew scrapbooking could be so deadly! I look forward to book 9. I read some of Ms. Winters other series and enjoy those as well.
I have done scrapping myself so it was easy to follow but a bit over the top. I was glad to see the Captain saga end of not a bit much at times. Fanatical mostly.
One mystery solved, now we just need to find out who has been leaving clues to the kidnapping behind. At least the main character didn’t come off as a ditz. Recommend this series.
It was another good adventure with Adrienne and the rest of the crew. It was exciting to see some story arcs resolve. I always enjoy seeing what kind of specialty cruise might be going on and the scrapbookers were an interesting group. Looking forward to my next swan cruise.
Nice, clean, simple reading. Entertaining and light hearted. Quirky fun. Something to get your mind off of the ugliness going on during a global pandemic.
