First Person Second Sight: Revisiting old thoughts

Rate this book
Here we can revisit nearly 40 short pieces published as an occasional column in a local newspaper between 2004 and 2009. A little short of 500 words on a topic chosen by the author they appeared on the letters page and was an opportunity for amateur writers to reach an audience of well over 200,000 readers and passing a personal social comment. Some were amusing and others deeply personal, some had poignant social relevance but all were the work of the writer with no influence from the paper's editorial staff. Topicality and local interest always scored highly and while opinions were not universally approved the ability of the public to be given this voice proves that in Britain Free-speech is a valued right.
Relive the pieces and see how many are still relevant and how many were totally off message with what has gone on since.
