Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.

The setting is post-Civil War Missouri. Teagan is the eldest of ten brothers and appears to rule the clan. No mystery what wore his Mother out. Where the author plans to find nine more brides for the rest of the team is the mystery. Gemma is the neighbour girl who has a Romeo and Juliette affair with Teagan. Just what her father had against the neighbours isn’t clear. She married a bigamist rounder who wasted her wealth on “soiled doves”, drink, and gambling. With the help of a dishonest banker he continues to victimize her. Let’s not forget Dolly, the loyal housekeeper who keeps the boys in line.

Gemma comes off as a ninny. The four men she’s been looking at treated their wives like baby-making machines, no wonder they’re widowers. Six children in five years? There are too many characters here for any of them to be properly drawn. I like Quinn and the brooding Brogan deserves some sympathy. The ending is rather abrupt and incomplete.

A broken woman looks to her neighbors for help after the Civil War.

She had loved the neighbor boy until her father threatened to kill him when he proposed to her. Then came the Civil War's destruction and her father never returning to their Texas ranch. Her mother died soon after, leaving her at the mercy of the thieves and marauding soldiers as they slowly stripped the ranch bare. A strong story of a second chance at love and family infidelity, and one woman praying to God for strength and help .

Kavanagh or McKeegan Brothers Fictional Books With A Twist

Cowboy Christian Mystery Romance all written by the Author Kathl een Ball . If you read her books especially about these two families The Kavanagh or The McKeegan's and it feels as if you've read the storyline before. There's a great possibility that you have. The Kavanagh Series is currently longer than the McKeegan's and the twist is they are the exact same stories except for the changes made to the family surname. If you're like me you probably prefer hard copies of a book but with the multiple online reading sites you've probably read many due to convenience or preference. Also if you're like me you would become upset with an Author to lazy to write a new series or an dishonest publisher that has his eyes on just the revenue they can get. Either way you are getting shafted by the author or the publisher . The Kavanagh Brothers series have over 10 books about each brother. The McKeegan Brothers so far has 4-6 books about each brother in this series. I suppose all the books for the McKeegan Brothers hasn't been written yet or they're spacing out introducing more books in the series to convince the readers to purchase more of the same. Plenty of books are written by authors using the same storyline or plot and have the tittle changed. But both of these series are EXACTLY the same with only the surname changed I now know not to purchase from this author because the joy has been taken out of reading her stories. All I have left to do is lookup the publisher to avoid getting caught in similar traps and find out the legality of this standard. Really, what a letdown to an avid reader of multiple genres. The 3 stars were because I enjoyed the first time I read it and the site is not allowing me to remove the stars. So far this book hasn't been written under The McKeegan Brothers yet.

I tend to like this author and most of her books have definitely been 4 and 5 stars .... but as much as I wanted to only give 2 stars, I like this author so granted her and "I Liked it" star rating...
The setting is post-Civil War Missouri. Teagan is the eldest of ten brothers and appears to rule the clan. No wonder the Mother gave up an died or left I can't remember :) .
Where the author plans to find nine more brides for the rest of the team is truly a mystery.
Now we have Gemma she is the neighbour girl who has a love for / with Teagan.
For some reason her father hated the neighbours and this part isn’t clear.
(well till the end of the story) .....so while the Boys/men are off to war ...
She succumbs and marries (unbeknownst to her) a bigamist a rounder who did not care for her and only wanted something and so he takes all her money and wasted her wealth on “soiled doves”, drink, and gambling. With the help of a dishonest banker he continues to victimize her.
Let’s not forget Dolly, the loyal housekeeper who keeps the boys in line. And yet Loves Gemma and does not look down on her as the towns people do....

Gemma comes off as a a lost child, trying to be grown yet worries about what everyone thinks of her she survived the war only to lose everything. She decided the best thing for her is to marry a widower and have no touching between them just help raise their children ... The four men she’s been looking at seem to have children galore, no wonder they’re widowers. Six children in five years? There are a lot of characters her . I really liked the characyer Quinn ....then you have the brooding Brogan who we learn deserves some sympathy. The ending for me was rather abrupt ... yes we get the HEA..but then we lose 2 brothers .....the feeling about this book is it is.....incomplete. but was a good read ...

Teagan Finds the Love of His Life! Can He Convince Her?

Teagan sat on his horse on a hilltop overlooking his ranch. In one area he saw cattle that did not belong to his ranch. Riding closer, he recognized by their appearance that they belonged to his neighbor, Gemma. And he found a broken down fence separating the two ranches. He went to see Gemma to let her know where her cattle had gone and to offer help. Gemma had married a man who abused her and refused to tend to the ranch. In fact he had been gone most of the time looking for gold he thought had been hidden by Gemma's father.

When Teagan reached the ranch house, he found that it was barely livable and offered to help. Emma refused his offer. A few days later Reagan went back and found that Gemma's husband had returned, beaten her, and left again.
Keagan was determined to help Gemma. He offered her a place to live. She insisted on finding a job and Keagan her to a rancher who desperately needed someone to take care of his house and children. She loved the children, but hesitated when the rancher asked her to marry him. She realized she loved someone else.

Was the man she loved Keagan? Read the book to find out.

It’s been a couple wonderful days reading this great book. It’s a Christian book, clean, interesting and romantic. After the Civil War, men came home to ranches that had changed, families that had loss and towns limited on people. It was no different with Teagan Kavanagh when he came back to a ranch that needed him and his brothers to get it in shape, days filled with hard work and neighbors that all seemed to need some sort of help. This story is the typical western that will make you smile, cry a few tears and feel warmth in your heart when you reach The End. I highly recommend this read as it will hold your interest and make you want to read Book 2.

Wonderful

Love historical romance, searching for something to read and I discovered this series. The hero and heroine had been childhood sweethearts but something happened, something changed the families had been close but no more. The hero joined the army, the heroine married someone she didn't love. Her husband took everything of worth and left her with nothing. The hero has returned, is the love still there and why do she believe that he own her ranch. Guess you have to click buy to find out.

Texan: Cowboy Strong

This was a great story about the Kavanagh family. Tegan was the oldest of all the sons. They each had served in the war, but upon returning home, they worked hard to restore and build up their ranch. Gemma lived next door and had been a child hood friend of Tegan. He went next farm over and found Gemma with her door hanging off and the house stripped with nothing in it. He loved her up in his wagon and carried back to his ranch. They had several issues to get past.

Yee Haa

I am not a woman's libber....But after reading this book I am so glad The move my occurred and that I didn't live during the 1870's. Life was hard on women. No rights. Property went to The husband to do whatever. A woman is The blame for all of men's misfortune. Thank goodness The Kavanagh's are there.

Heartbroken

Velma is downtrodden. After the war, her father never returned, the mean she married took her for a cool and she's barely surviving. Teagan, her first love has returned from the war and he's robust and his place is flourishing. With all his brothers to help on his place, it's no wonder things are going well. But there are other things amiss, secrets to be uncovered and jealousy to overcome. I liked this book and look forward to reading about all the brothers.

Teagan Kavanagh rides to the Maguire ranch and finds Gemma Maguire living in a falling-down house. She accuses him of buying her ranch and having her evicted. Her husband, Richard, gambled away everything they had and he was already married. She goes to the Kavanagh Ranch determined to marry for convenience. Does Teagan have other plans for her?

Good read. I enjoyed the Christian element in this book. Gemma needed to get past her past. Cowboy Strong took me into the Wild West.

Story of Hope

Enjoyed this book. It is really a story of hope when all seems lost. Gemma hasn’t received love from her parents. The one person she loved, she had to turn down his proposal to save his life. Her father had a gun on him, and she knew it. She didn’t know why but she had to refuse his proposal. The story has a number of twists regarding the H/h, but all works out in end with a HEA. Recommend it to everyone.

What a great start to a new series. This is Teagan and Gemma's story and the character development is excellent. This is a story with many twists and turns with some mystery and strange happenings. The couple have many obstacles and misunderstandings to overcome before ever finding a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it...looking forward to the next book in the series.

Lost Love

This is a very well written book by Kathleen Ball and I really liked it. The Civil War, a lost love, a "married" woman, a rancher, a supposed "husband", gold?, a rundown ranch, land grabbers, finding love and a lot more. If any of this .intrigues you, buy the book and read what happens.

Oldest son

Teagan. Loved and courted the neighbor girl Gemma. He wanted her tarry him, but her father told her he would kill Reagan if she accepted his marriage proposal. You need to read the book to see if they ever unite but apparently her mother and Teagan's father had an affair and one of Reagan's brothers, was also Gemma's brother!

Clunky

I don’t know if this was the authors first book that she has written, but it certainly felt like it. The writing style was clunky. It did not flow and it felt like there were some inconsistencies in it all throughout. I almost didn’t finish the book and I doubt that I will read any more of the series.

Good…but

This was a really good story until the end. The ending was ok it just went from cruising speed to breaking the sound barrier. There was so much just brushed aside. Quinn went from this love able Teddy Bear to brooding angry man. Brogan went from horrible mean spirited man to “I’ve just got to get on with it”. Hopefully the next in series will be less abrupt at the end.

Teagan, A Good Man

Gemma was alone and trying to maintain the ranch by herself. Her supposed husband had run off with all of her money. Teagan had been the love of her youth but her father hated him and forced her to refuse him. Gemma decided that she should marry a widower with children as she liked children but couldn't stand for any man to touch her.

Good enough to read again

I enjoyed reading this book for a second time. The story was good and the characters were likable and easy to picture. It is possible to write a good story without bad words or over descriptive sex scenes. I can’t wait to reread the rest of the books in this series. A good book can always be read again.

Another night of reading until 3:30 am.

I usually do not read a bad book after the first chapter.
I have to be drawn into the story. This one did. I have not read a great book with such a complicated situation before.
It was handled brilliantly.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a great read.

A really great historical western romance with a bit of intrigue. Teagan and Gemma had many obstacles in their way before they could get their happy ending. I look forward to more books in the series.

I found this book confusing. I skipped some of it just to end it. I did like most of the characters. I think the secrets were good but the author tried too hard and really did not do a good job.

The family was all boys

A great western clean story. As with all families, there are quirks and complications. But large families have got a lot to love and live. And they did it so unselfishly here

Sins of the fathers

Teagan is head of the ranch his brothers work. Gemma is alone on the next ranch and going down fast. They have a long twisted history and have not spoken in years. When he discovers her cattle on his ranch, he will have to face her again.
