Kara feared this day would come, the day that the impossible would be demanded of her. Fighting a dragon is a feat that goes against every grain of her body. Mistress Sigrun and the winged Valkyries corner her and her friends, Hildr and Eir, leaving them no choice but to fight.
A strange scent tickles her magic, drawing its attention. Yet because her magic is new, she is unable to pinpoint its source until it is too late. A war erupts on Asgard, and only the combined efforts of winged and wingless Valkyries will ensure their safety, a triumph that has been impossible in the past.

This is yet another excellent addition to this series, which makes for a gripping read for fans of dragons, magic, and mythology. The plot and worldbuilding are fantastic, and the way the characters and their relationships with one another are growing and evolving throughout the series is wonderful. The main character of this book is someone you can both relate to, and learn a lot from. I can't wait to see what's next!

This book is a wonderful read. Between the alliance of the dragons and the wingless Valkyrie. When there is a battle from the dark else they step in and save the winged Valkyrie. It seems as though they are earning respect from some of the winged ones. But there is still a lot more that is going to have to happen for them to be excepted. This book is full of suspense, magic, friendship and lessons. It is definitely a page turner.Happy reading everyone

Reluctantly, this MC finds herself defending the very people who have been trying to get rid of her. Isn’t that always the case. Someone has to rise up and be the better person. I suspect the “mischievous “ one has been staging things, but yet again the storyline tortures me to be patient. The battle scene is good , earning a PG rating, very suitable for YA. Not for those readers requiring blood and gore.

An amazing addition to this series!
“Ambushed” continues Kara’s journey at the Valkyrie Academy. This short read is rich in characters and vivid scenes. I love this series and look forward to each new addition. I highly recommend this book and this series.

so this grrl's tuff. n unreasonably kind to her abusers. pacing's wonderful, as usual. her torment started to get to me 'bout halfway thru, trying to kill her wasn't good enough. still she perseveres, unbelievable grit. unbelievable surprise at the end, mebbe a little stunning even

It is definitely getting better but the way she describes some of the characters is a bit repetitive.
