Excitingly brilliant

The fifth novel in the Humanarium series by a young and extremely talented writer sees the wife of our usual protagonist Harl having her own life changing adventure. Sonora is the beautiful blonde maiden proving herself as much a warrior as the men around her on this wonderful alien planet, taking tongue skies on Flick the bird, bigger than a horse to Sonora but tiny to the natives of the planet, the three hundred metre tall Aylen.
The descriptives are perfect as we envision Sonora and Flick soaring through the forests while being chased and attacked. The characters are brilliantly written and the interaction is great as we see them develop.
The level of humour is just good enough to keep this story serious but you can't miss it and find yourself smiling throughout this tale of war on a strange world.
I love this series very much and enjoyed book five as much as the first four, maybe even more! Looking forward to the next fascinating installment.
Five stars because I can't give six.
