What a flippin eye-opener of a book. Wow. I thought I had nutrition all wrapped up. Uh, nope. Have now. Buy this. It's as sensible as your nana and twice as informative. Mine (nana) was all about the treacle tarts and fondant fancies... sigh, those were the days. But no wols, Mr Tomlinson got you covered!
I’ve followed The Fitness Chef on Instagram for a little while now and enjoy the visual style of his posts and no nonsense approach.
I saw his book was out and I’m glad I read it. I’m now looking to calculate my weekly calories and work out a sustainable deficit, eating a meal plan which fits around that, allowing a treat if I fancy it.
The book is really informative and accessibly written. There’s a lot of visuals and it’s not boring to read at all. There are also recipe ideas.
If you’re interested in healthier eating and losing weight you need to read this!
It's a really good material and for anyone who wants to lose weight this should be their Bible. If you think that keto, detoxing, alkaline or whatever other diet is the remedy you'll have it explained why it is not. I'd say it is quite basic but that's why it is so good. A lot of graphics that are making the material easy to digest and very well explained concepts. It wasn't the best book for me as I already knew about 80% of the content but I would still recommend it!
Brilliantly simple - A joy to consume, and with no bitter aftertaste. No gimmicks, no rigorous exercise routine required, and no special tea, protein shake or supplements needed. Save your money and time by enjoying the food you love without feeling guilty, shame, or that you are a failure because you ate a pizza. The tips in this book are straightforward and make sense. A nice surprise for me was finding that it includes 'easy science', some wholesome recipes and an encouraging attitude designed to help you build up a good relationship with food, and drink. Language is key here. No more demonizing. For a properly-working body, we need proteins, carbs, and fats. FACT. If you are honest in the approach to your weight/health/fitness goals, you will achieve them. A refreshing, empowering, and clear resource to return to when needed. Highly recommend!
A bit simplistic. It's the same message over and over, with no nuances. Just watch a few of his instagram videos and save your money. He does not cover nutrition at all (such as which macro or micro nutrients are actually more or less beneficial) - just "this has less calories than that". Sure, but fruit sugars are not refined sugars, GI is not entirely a myth, and fasting does work (if you do it for at least three days 🥴 according to the latest research - no proof if that's good for you though).
Very quick read. Has some great insights and infographics that are so easy to grasp. I loved how he busts a lot of myths about the "diet culture" that make a life harder for no reason. Of course, some ideas are repeated over and over throughout the pages and could have been summarized. But, all in all, it's worth a read. :)
It covers everything you need yo know about losing weight whilst eating normally, with no fads or bizare rules. I would urge anybody that is stuck in a slimming club, crash diet cycle or thinking about joining a slimming club/following a crash diet to give this a try first.
Essential reading for anyone who has a poor relationship with food and wants to learn how to lose weight sustainably and with health and wellness as a top priority. There’s a few recipes in here I’m looking forward to trying. There’s also an Instagram account worth checking out: @thefitnesschef_
A simple and effective explanation of the science behind weight loss. No propaganda just fact. Lots of info graphics to explain what is being discussed too. Great book.
Have read so many diet books. It was recommended by someone that also struggles with trying to lose weight. Easy read , great illustration. No longer need to buy anymore books on dieting.
Interesting read on nutrition. Full of facts and ideas, and really helps to put food and exercise into perspective. Some great recipes and tips and tricks, that are realistic and with fact based statements. Great read
This book is breath of fresh air, strips and lays bare what we need to know when making changes to our eating habit. An easy read and helps to reframe thinking around our diet.
Really enjoyed the no nonsense approach, lots of info graphics means the book is easy to read (1 hour). Of course some good recipient but I have to say I enjoyed the advice more
A great book and some good recipes. Lessons learnt: The volume of food fills you up so choose high volume low calorie like fruits and vegetables. You lose weight by being in a calorie-deficit!!! Track your calories for a week not day by day, this accounts for cheat days or weekends better.

Very straightforward and easy to follow, makes you more aware of the caloric value of food and how you can still enjoy your favorite foods within moderation!
Easy to read and a great extension of his social media campaign. No BS and straight forward approach. I feel it is the food education we should have received in High School
