I survived the first year at Knighstwood Academy but my struggles are far from over. People still don’t want the Charity Case hanging around on the campus of their elite prep school.

While I have the Kings of the academy backing me, they can’t predict every attack coming my way. And while I am struggling to endure it all, secrets of my past resurface, secrets that my mother took to her grave.

Secrets if known to the world, will have more powerful enemies coming after me.

Nerd Queen  is the second book in a contemporary reverse harem high school bully romance series.

Note:  The Kings of Knightswood Academy  is a reverse harem series meant for mature readers who enjoy their academy bully romances with no restraint to language, violence, and a few heated scenes.

It's a new year and Paris is back and ready to survive another year at Knightswood Academy. The end of the first book though ended on a cliffhanger of Paris being kidnapped just before the graduation ceremony. Book #2 Nerd Queen starts with Paris turning on her phone and being transported in a car with a bag over her head. She hopes that her friends will track her phone and notice. When she finally arrives at the port, they are surrounded by police as someone else saw the kidnapping happening and put in a tip. Nerd Queen introduces us to Vanessa whom we had heard a bit about from the first book and she is a little weird and has a major crush I can see in Paris but most people think she is straight. Brianna is still on a mission to destroy Paris and with Lucian a bit tied up, she is to come up with a few more creative options and enlisting some new people to help her destroy Paris. What I loved about this book was that we learned more about Paris's mother as a teen and the identity of Paris's father was revealed and what I loved was that he was a genuinely nice guy and he was sweet not an overbearing rich and wealthy jerk. Karma also came biting back on Brianna as her family revealed some dark secrets including details about Paris's mother Emily's death. This would have to be one of my favorite bullymance series and I am now looking forward to reading Book #3 Forever Theirs.

This book weirded me out. The first book in the series seemed like an okay start, but then this book just kind of went left field.

My thoughts while reading this:

- Hmmm....did I miss when they explained why she wears glasses with no lenses?? That's just fucking weird.
- Whoa, wait! Is she going to get with her cousin? That's too fucking weird.
- Is she really in love with her gay best friend?! Fucking weird.
- What is up with this Vanessa girl!? She's fucking weird.
- Like she wouldn't be upset if one of her guys was kissing another person outside of the lunchroom?? yeah right, fucking weirdo liar.
- Does her cousin still really want to get with her? That's just nasty and weird.
- Hmmm...would it be weird of me to now want her and her cousin to get together?? AAGGGHHH! This book is making me weird.

Seriously, I didn't like this book...but I still read it. As far as bullying goes, it's pretty tame. Well, if you consider attempted rape, physical assault, emotional assault, slut shaming, and mental games kinda tame. In my defense though, with the bully romance genre being what it is today, that shit is actually pretty tame. It's sad that I've become so desensitized to this stuff. smdh.

Anyways....it's a bully rh romance, so those that enjoy that genre will prob be okay with this, but there is much better out there.

Sometimes less is more and for me the drama was well overdone in this book, however, I still really enjoyed it. Our heroine is like a cat with nine lives and the world and his wife are all out to kill her. Some of the reveals were jaw-dropping and some I foresaw, but knowing this genre, Ivy Clyde styled this out really well and well in keeping with other series I have read.

PS: Give me more of the Russian!!

1.5.....

I absolutely hate giving negative reviews but while the first book showed promise this one was just ridiculous. I can completely understand having some situations where you suspend your disbelief for the sake of the story, but this whole book was so over the top it was laughable. I’ve watched soap operas with less twists and drama. It also really bothered me that this didn’t really feel like a true RH. They never really came together as a unit, there was always jealousy, and they didn’t have equal ‘screen’ time at all. It ends with a little HFN but unfortunately wasn’t really satisfying. Lastly there were many more editing issues than in the first book.

Love it!

Ivy writes works that you can fall into completely, every thought on the characters next goal. I loved the romance and the build up and change of the characters over the story. Good length novel- and series- 2 books instead of 3- or more. Going to read something else by this talented writer.

Just no. Sorry.
I stopped reading this for a while and finally finished it today.
I realised why I stopped reading immediately. But I absolutely do not like to DNF a book!

I hated the way the characters talked, I hated how much drama there was (and drama that was super serious but never really resolved). I don’t know about you, but if someone had tried to kill me numerous times at my school, that whole school would have been under investigation and the local tabloids would have had a field day! Not to mention police presence… imagine the other parents too? Especially at a rich-ass school with high profile children.

Poisoned? Check. Stabbed? Check. Burned? Check. Any other grievous injury? Check.

Do not even get me started on the descriptions during the intimate scenes 😳🤣 I skipped over those for fear of dying of cringe.

Okay this one was pretty much like the first but if possible the editing errors were even worse. Totally distracted from the story at hand. I really liked the characters and the story, I liked the character development, the story seemed to flow a little easier this time around. The story is told in multiple pov, which does help you get into the story. The addition of some characters to the story and the twists and turns that are revealed added another layer to the story. a good story to read if you have KU and like RH bully romance.

I wanted to love it.

The dialogue kills me. It’s too stiff, formal. They’re teens. Even growing up in wealth, they wouldn’t speak so stiffly. The kidnappings. Ugh. So many. Too many from this series. I love Nikolai, but I just don’t know that I could read another series as stiff as this is.
Editing is still an issue, but for the most part, the actual story is good. I had to finish it, I had to know what happened next.

Nice twists

So I have to say I was surprised on who her father was... I thought it would of been the other way around that Paris was a Bettencourt. That was a nice plot twist and gave reason to her mother's behavior. At first I was frustrated because I felt like there were a lot of plot holes... Like how it was this big deal Paris's mom got pregnant senior year but apparently so did all the other classmates since they were all in the same grade.... But that was answered as well. Must have been some party!!! All in all, I was surprised by the twists, entertained by the story and invested in the characters. What more could you ask for in a book? There were some sentence/wording issues at times, but they are slight. Halloween was on a Friday in the first book and then the next year on a Thursday? Multiple POVs. Introduced to 2 new characters. Some sexy times, but felt it was not as focused on in this book. Paris is working to prove herself and be strong. We never do learn if she won the one competition either... The guys were not as clingy in this book. At times, I wondered where they were. However, I also liked that Paris was a separate person and didn't need them to be happy. Lots happen in this book. Good ending.

Started ok but disappointing

I really wanted to like this book as I enjoyed the overall premise. Paris was generally quite likeable, however I found her far too weak. She never stood up to her bullies or talked back to them and she accepted Liam far too quickly. He did and said truly horrible things yet she brushed them all aside simply because he was attractive and looked emotional at one point in the story. Nik had been watching and wanting her for years, yet stayed away for a whole month and was so hot and cold. How can you want someone so desperately yet not want any public display of emotion/affection. Brianna was so annoying and 2 dimensional that I glossed over her and both Vanessa and Felix seemed randomly introduced. I also couldn't get over the 'I am' etc that cropped up. No one really talks in this way and it stopped the characters being believable. A shame as i thought the idea of the story had promise. This could be much better with some heavy editing.

Great Conclusion

I loved this. Paris was a great main character. I love reading books with a brilliant, nerdy female protagonist and Paris was definitely that and more. The characters overall were great though I felt like I never really got to really know Nikolai. There were some typos and some british colloquialisms and phrasing from American characters but not enough to diminish my enjoyment of the story. I do wish there had been an epilogue but the series is ripe for a spin off. Overall, I enjoyed this series and would recommend it.

I love Nikolai!!

I absolutely loved reading this two book series, I fell in love with everyone of the characters that were good people.. But I gotta say that I fell for Nikolai the most.. I don’t know what it was but his character just called to me... I recommend this two book series to anyone who loves reverse harem, because the story line is so good and has the best mystery to it.. But most of all the love and friendship the characters shared is what makes this series the best..

I really loved this series. The only thing that drove me nuts, is that Paris was always like, dont touch me- their looking. Even at home. Like there was only the chapel where they could be together, all 4 of them. But it didnt make me love the book any less.

This was a great finish to the story. The book was well written, and left me wishing it wasnt over. I look forward to reading more by this author

Whew

Whew, that was an action packed and suspenseful read. The twists were unexpected and shocking and I really enjoyed it. The language was again a little formal for me but I have a suspicion that this author is from the UK so it totally makes sense in my head now lol Absolutely nothing wrong with in just not used to the writing style, I'm used to more slang and contractions and don't have a formal bone in my body.

Really good!

I am not a big fan of Liam. That being said there are many wonderful things about this that I do love. The writing is great. You see a lot of character development through out the story both with the mc and sc. Paris is really a cutie. I wasn't super happy with how Liam treated her especially in the first book, though I think bringing Vanessa in helped a lot in that area. Overall really good story.

Lovely story of strength and determination

Nerd Queen was a great story of strength and determination and winning against all odds. I loved the characters and action, but felt there wasn't enough steamy sex. I also felt it a bit distracting with incorrect grammar and overuse of plurals. Otherwise I am actually sad that this series isn't continuing. I would love to see how Paris goes at Kingsley U.

Amazing

I loved this book Paris is an inspiring well rounded character that you can’t but want the best for her. The boys Nik, Gab and Liam bring drama in the best ways. Zoya and Luca warm my heart with there sweetness with whole lots of other characters. The villains in this story are bitter, cruel and twisted which gives the story its edge of darkness that gets you hooked. So as you can see I love this series and Author is becoming a fast favourite of mine.

Binge-worthy

Yes, I devoured this book immediately after I finished Charity Case. The author managed to spin a story with very realistic and relatable characters and plot lines. I just couldn't stop reading. I loved the addition of Oliver, Vanessa and Felix. They made some of my favourite side characters ever.

I did like the story however what I did not like was the extreme grammar errors toward the end of the book. It's like as if the author was just rushing the ending. There were so many errors that I had to wonder if she just gave up.
