For years, Asher Dare lived his life by one simple rule—always leave them wanting more. He’s worked hard and partied harder, looking for nothing beyond instant gratification and mutual pleasure. No commitments. No promises.
Then, Cameron Stone stumbled into his life with his color-coded lists and pressed polos, and nothing has been the same since. Now, Asher has it all. A mansion on the hill. An impressive bank account courtesy of a dozen bestselling novels. A boyfriend with big blue eyes and a smile that lights up his world.
But having it all means having everything to lose, especially when the past he’s been running from is about to catch up with him.
Haha as expected this disappointed me We see Cam and Asher grow close fast in book 1 to be able to weather the storm together in book 2 However three things that sort of ruined it for me:
- the antagonist(s) were poorly written. I didn’t feel their anguish, motivation or the real fear they were exuding on our MCs cause they were hidden most of the time - the unnecessary “oh we need to pop in some sort of ‘Fallout’” which was ridiculous to say the least - building up relationship plot lines between side characters that I would generally be interested in but there was too much of it considering those characters don’t have books (yet? Couldn’t find anything on this)
Oh my goodness... Cameron and Asher have gone through more in a few months than most couples go through in years of being together. With Asher's past coming back to haunt him, Cameron steps up and reminds Asher that he's not going anywhere. Throughout all the drama, love finds a way to take hold. There is comedic relief via Cameron's family and there is ridiculously hot sex between Asher and Cameron. Like, I need a cigarette after, HOT (and I don't even smoke!) Get this book!
I loved this series. Being from the Dallas/ ft Worth metroplex I love that it takes place here. I know the little towns and places mentioned aren't real and the time to drive to Dallas from one of the small towns has been severely underestimated lol but it is still nice. I hope there are more books. Especially about Talon and the other side characters. I hope they all get their own story as well.
What a great series read. Funny, enjoyable and touching. Nothing better then when our characters rise from the ashes, and blossom into a life filled with love. Epic read!
