A LOT happened in this one. I just wasn’t as engaged for some reason, but it ended on such a good cliffhanger. We’re also finding out more about the mystery surrounding Alzeid.

With Alzeid badly injured and Baroqueheat nowhere to be found, Alzeid, Rahzel, and Rayborn are in desperate need of a hospital-- and stat! But with the assassins hot on their tail, someone will have to stay behind while the other takes Alzeid to a hospital. Knowing he'd never be able to protect Alzeid on his own, Rayborn volunteers to keep the assassins at bay by having them chase him all over town. But as Kiara, and the white-haired young man who longs for a name given by Rahzel, closely watches over their pawns, all but one piece may be knocked off the chessboard...

SON OF A BITCH, THEY KILLED RAYBORN. DAMN FUCKING RIGHT THIS IS THE "MOST EMOTIONAL VOLUME OF DAZZLE YET"!! AND IN DAZZLE, THEY (the mangaka) GO AROUND FUCKING KILLING PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT. Although I already kind of knew they (the mangaka) would kill Rayborn after I read the title of the second chapter in the table of contents, so I had prepared myself, but... But, still...! It was Rayborn!! How could they?! I was satisfied with the fact that that nameless boy slaughtered all of those inhuman murderers though. And man, was this volume DEEP. Depressing too. If I could remember how to cry, I'd probably be bawling. And slowly, I am realizing more and more that Alzeid is nothing but a big, sweet, 24-year-old child. He's so cute and pitiful that it just makes me want to treat him like my new little (big) brother. OOOH, there is so much to say about this one!! *Sigh*. One day, as a reread, one day... R.I.P. Rayborn...
