This book had me smiling so wide most of the time. I did not even realize how much until my husband started laughing at me. It was too quick of a read. I'm so so upset now. It was romantic, a bit of drama (of course) tiny bit of deceiving, steamy, great sex scenes, and my God I fell in love with the each of them. You do not want to miss this series. I know it didn't have many reviews but thank God I took a chance. One I will never forget and re-read every time I'm lonely, depressed, etc.. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY READ. IT IS SO DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHERS IN THIS GENRE!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET. UNLESS YOUR A GUY. THEN YOU MOST LIKELY WILL WANT TO SKIP IT!!
I'm so confused by this book. It felt more like an outline than an actual story and I felt like I was missing a lot of scenes. The book told more than showed and skipped over most of the important scenes. It felt like almost every chapter was skipping a week ahead, or a month, or even two. And then we'd hear a very brief synopsis from the main characters POV about what happened in that missing time. So by the end of the book we pretty much never saw anything happen, there was no connection between the characters, none of them had any type of development of growth, and nothing of interest seemed to happen.
Side note: Why did only one of the four brothers have an accent? If they all grew up in the same place? It made no sense to me, but then again not much in this book did.
I have read many of these types of story and quite frankly, I am not exaggerating at all when I say that this particular story has so many loopholes, the Swiss cheese would get jealous as fuck!
I'm not short of saying that this is an absolute nonsense...
p.s. and regarding the foreign phrases, especially in French, that as constantly thrown in our faces, such as mon cher and mon belle, for Heaven's sake, just check the spelling next time, it's actually ma chère and ma belle
Harvard Elite Academy is a high school enemies-to-lovers contemporary reverse harem romance with light bullying, an arranged marriage, secrets and lies, betrayal, and light sprinkles of spice.
The 18-year-old de Lacharriere quadruplets move to Massachusetts with their widowed father to attend the prestigious Harvard Elite Academy. The boys are a close knit wealthy family that always get what they want. There is Tristan, the popular jock that is always in the limelight, Cole; the cajun hunk with a southern drawl, Brent; the broody quiet one with a hard exterior, and Axel; the brilliant and sweet brother nicknamed Clark Kent.
Kresley is a 17-year-old junior at Harvard Elite and the neighbor of the de Lacharriere quads. She is a bright teen with a plan: escape the grasp of her abusive father, keep her head down, get a scholarship for college, and move far away. Her family is wealthy but she isn’t the typical rich brat and cares more about people and relationships than she does possessions. Kresley is a likable heroine with realistic reactions and behaviors throughout the book for her age. She does come across as spineless and submissive at times, but it makes sense with her sheltered upbringing.
The de Lacharriere’s are one of the most powerful families in the world and all of the girls want to be with the boys and all of the boys want to be them. The quads like to share and pursue Kresley, but she resists all of their charms. She is blindsided when Tristan forces her into an arranged marriage. Kresley’s choices have always been made for her and she feels powerless to fight against the forced relationship. To complicate matters, she can’t ignore her growing attraction to each of the boys and how her body wants them.
Secrets unravel and the boys betrayal rocks Kresley to the core. How could she have been so naive? To me, what the boys did was completely unforgivable. They shattered her heart and soul into a million pieces that could never be glued back together. I really wish Kresley would have stood firm and made the boys grovel. Like really truly grovel. Instead, they come up with a stupid plan to re-capture Kresley’s heart and never let her go.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to show you how much you mean to me, and that you can trust me. I’ll be loyal to you until I take my last breath or you direct otherwise. I may be young, and some people would think me dumb for saying such things, but it’s something I can feel all the way in my soul. You’re mine Kresley, and I am yours…if you’ll allow it.”
The quads apologize with words and actions, but it just wasn’t enough for me to redeem them of their betrayal. Not only did Kresley take a harsh beating from her father but she also tried to end her life due to their actions. I just wanted more from the boys. Their plan to win her back was frustrating — yet again they force her into the relationship and take away her choices. Do they ever stop and really consider what Kresley wants? Not really.
“I love you, each one of you will all of my heart. Thank you for ruining my life, just to love me fiercely, care for my deeply, and offer me my dreams.”
Kresley and her quads find their happily-ever-after after a long emotional and heartbreaking journey. Personally, I did not think the boys redeemed themselves, but I’m glad they had a happy ending. Kresley deserves the world and I’m glad the boys wanted to give her everything. The ending was rushed and I would have loved an epilogue from years in the future to find closure.
Tropes: Contemporary romance, young adult, high school academy romance, arranged marriage, forced proximity, quadruplets, reverse harem, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, light bullying, happily-ever-after Heat: 2/5
So I was really intrigued by the story and I did like it and the beginning, but I have issues. There are some weird gaps and there’s a lot of of the development of the relationships after the inciting incident that is kind of just rushed over or mentioned in passing so when things pop off towards the end of the first book, it doesn’t necessarily feel earned.
Also, it seems sort of a cop out the way that the author decided to explain the abrupt shift and people’s attitudes towards the main character like the explanation were given just seems like a cop out because it comes out of left field when all the craziness happens in the book. And then when we get to the second book of the duet, there is like not enough graveling done for me for what they did. I feel like Kresley is also a little bit weak. She’s not my favorite female main character at all. But I will say she’s not the worst. She’s not whiny or anything like that. I just feel like she didn’t put these boys through the wringer as much as she should have. Needless to say, I just feel like this book was very hollow. The redemption doesn’t really seem super earned in my opinion and her love for them. Doesn’t really seem super earned because like I said before a lot of the development was done “off-screen”.
The mighty scenes are fine. I feel like this book just could’ve been better. It reminds me a bit of the Ravenhood legacy but nowhere near as good like its infant baby sister. I started to find myself skipping over a lot of passages or just scanning through them to get the general gist of the story towards the end. There were also plenty of grammatical errors and punctuation errors and usually I can get past that but with how hollow the story was it was more noticeable.
Absolutely fantastic, must read duet! This author brings us great stories full of every emotion and you feel every single bit of it.
BOOK 1 Oh my goodness! Little White Lies is definitely a must read. This book will have you all twisted up! It has all the feels. The Quad has me FURIOUS at them because of how they're doing Kresly. I just hope they will redeem themselves in Ugly Dark Truth. If you haven't read this series you need to be sure you add it to your TBR list.
BOOK 2 This has been a pretty great journey with Kresley, Axle, Cole, Brent and Tristan. What a beautiful little love story. This duet had me wanting to kill these guys in the first book and by the end of this one they had redeemed themselves and I adored them. I loved these books and can't wait to see what Sapphire Knight has next.
:::dramatically blows out a deep breath::: This one was work. Honestly surprised I didn’t DNF this one. Such an unlikeable FMC. It kept being stressed how she wasn’t like all the other “rich bitches” because she wasn’t a constantly shopping gold digger. But yet all she did was whine, cry, and jump to conclusion even as the quads tried talking to her directly. Just as annoying. But like, what can I expect from a 17 year old? Plot moved along way too fast. Almost impossible to get a good development on any of the quads relationship with her.
And to top it off this duet was just littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical issues. It honestly felt like someone just kept writing notes to themself and then put it together, called it a book, without ever proofreading.
Overall, I liked the story line here and the characters as well. However, I just feel like this duet could have been so much more. Everything seemed to be so rushed. The story would skip ahead a lot to a month or so later and it was disappointing. The ending didn't really feel like closure either. We didn't even hear about what happened with her dad. The intimate moments in the book were overdramatized to me honestly. I also wouldn't consider this a bully romance its more of an enemies to lovers romance. I'm sad because this could have been an amazing book but it just wasn't 🙁
This book may have had the least likable characters that I have ever read. The fmc was annoying, always crying, and never stood up for herself. When she is forced into getting engaged to a guy she has known for 2 weeks, she never questions it and falls for him and his 3 brothers, who happened to be quadrupled. The guys themselves, other than Axel, are kind of mean. Also, the way the story is written, it's hard to figure out what's happening between the characters because the author skips ahead by weeks and months! Another problem was editing. There were tons of spelling mistakes. Overall, I read the book, but it was really difficult to get through.
Harvard Academy Elite is a contemporary reverse harem academy romance. It is full of secrets, lies, intrigue, betrayal, angst and so much more that kept me hooked. It is very much a slower and lower burn romance compared to other Sapphire Knight 's works but it is no less entertaining. This is described as a bully romance but I think it is more enemies to lovers. Nonetheless, Kresley and her guys have an interesting story. I love that the apologies were made not only through words but also actions.
Whew! This story was so hot! Tristan, Brent, Cole and Axel decide that they want Kresley and set up to have her. There is major chemistry between them but drama ensues and things happen. All I am going to say is that Kresley should've made the boys grovel more! However, I did find this book quite enjoyable to read.

I really loved the first book in this series, Little White Lies. I was really hoping for a little more on the bully aspect of the story. The second book, Ugly Dark Truth, was a good story. There really wasn't any bullying, but the story focused more on the reverse harem aspect.
This is Kresley, Brent, Cole, Tristan, and Axel’s journey. This is a good story which is a reverse harem, with combustible chemistry, lies, truths, twists, heartbreak, family, friendships, drama, intrigue, and love, which leads to an emotional roller coaster. I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I am glad that the guys got her away from her father for what he did to her. I hope he gets what is coming to him.
A great book, absolutely loved it. It was full of a girl being strong, while feeling unsure, and unworthy of others love. The guys were strong on the outside, and hid who they truly are. Great writing
It was a good ending to a duet. I would have liked to have a scene with all 5 of them but it's all good. Maybe next time if she decides to write a third one. Maybe a novella?
This book had the potential to be really good, however, too many plot holes, massive repetition and this entire story generally not making sense made this fall apart.
A why chose with 4 brothers normally rates much higher for me. I think what is holding me back is the fmc is 17. Had they all been in college I think I would have liked this book so much more.
Little White Lies: Kresley is forced into a relationship with one of her new neighbors, quadruplet brothers and their father. She ends up falling for all of the brothers and they her. Her parents are awful. Her father is physically and emotionally abusive. Her mother is controlling and only cares about appearances. Kresley is stuck, but the brothers show care for her in their own ways—until the awful truth at the end of this story.
The Ugly Dark Truth: Picks up right from the end of LWL. Kresley is devastated by heartbreak and has to recover from her father. There are a few short time jumps in the story (like 1-2 months at a time). The guys are still plot and negotiate, but differently. They work to win her back and build relationships with her. They each provide something different to her. They don’t trickle truth too badly. She stands up for herself the best she can, which isn’t very well since she has been abused her whole life, but the guys become her protection and strength even when she doesn’t know it. Very sweet ending, though I wanted more in the bedroom department.
