Monster: The Goddess Series

Rate this book
Pulled from my simple life of contentment, laughter, and first love, I was twisted into what I was now. A creature of the night. Bringer of destruction. Lover of darkness. A monster.
I was all this and more, depending on what your definition of a monster was. Webster dictionary defined it as one who deviates from normal or acceptable behavior or character. If that was true, then couldn’t we all be a little bit of a monster?
Hades, Donn, Santa Muerte, Grimm. Throughout the years I had been called many things. All right, but very wrong. I was all of these and none of these at the same time. At one time I was mortal, a girl with a love so fierce I thought nothing could break us. I was wrong. Death could break anybody. My memories of my life before were like distance memories thrown in the ocean of events in my head.
Nothing affected me.
I was Alone.
Except them.
The shadows always my companion. As we walked the road of death and destruction together. Never speaking to one another, just watching and waiting. Staying with my shadows I crept. Their darkness my cover, my protection.
They were my minions, my albatross… My friends.
That is until things began to change and people that we left behind come back. Because even death can’t run from her past.
This story is a Why Choose book.
With many dark triggers. Including death and noncon. Not for the light-hearted.

I like where this series is going A LOT. Resh is a complicated character, who's show development throughout the book makes her very likeable. I'd love to see a bit more of her origins and discovering what she is. As her last has come to haunt her once again, we can see what she could have become, and still could. Her Shadows are the most intriguing characters, both in terms of their origins and their possibilities. I'm very excited to see more of them and see their individual personalities.

There's great action throughout the book, both the steamy kind and the violent kind. The supernatural magic is woven into the fight scenes really well, I'd love to see more of Resh in her fully shifted form!

A damned good read! This goddess is just my kind!!! She's dark and dangerous, sexy and funny, at least to me. I can't wait to see what she does in the next book!

I have it five stars because I enjoyed it, page after page. I finished it in two hours! I haven't been that interested in a book for a while.

A Great Start

This is a unique take on supernaturals. I like that the main character had a dark side to rival that of the antagonist to start. But with acceptance and some unknown forces, she begins to feel emotions and change who she thinks she is. There are some sexy scenes, some dark themes, and you will be left ready for the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Has potential 3.5 stars

I am not sure how to review this series. I liked that the characters were different and unique and I do think that it has potential but this seemed more like a prequel novella (just introducing the plot).
