The text I used to teach Anthropology 100.at The Borough of Manhattan Community College, N.Y.C. I found that, even though Mr. Kottak was late comer to anthropology he, managed to put together a test that dealt with modern cultural pardigms, i.e. hip-hop, Netiquette, Mudders, and Baseball in the context of "race."

This book (and the class I used it for) made me fall in love with Anthropology. So much so, that I've made Anthropology my new minor in college! What I really loved about it was the Appreciating Diversity tidbits in each chapter that would relate each topic to a real life example. Overall, the book is fascinating - one of my most interesting college textbooks yet. :)

An easy book to read and somewhat interesting. I think if I'd had more passion for the subject, I would've enjoyed it more overall.
