Geen probleem, lees gewoon lekker verder en laat Gulliver je meenemen naar de volgende bestemmingen: het vliegende eiland Laputa en het bizarre maar fascinerende land van de Houyhnhnm, wijze paarden die kunnen praten! Elisabetta Dami is an Italian author that currently resides in Italy. She is the author of the Geronimo Stilton series, a bestselling childrens book. She enjoys traveling the world seeking ideas for her series. She writes under a pseudonym of Geronimo Stilton. She is also a co-owner of Italian based publishing company Edizioni Piemme.

4 stelle, stupendo. non ho letto il vero libro, quindi non posso dire quanto è vicina questa versione alla storia originale. tuttavia, è stato molto interessante. gulliver era un po' fastidioso, aveva manie di protagonismo e mi è sembrato egocentrico e permaloso, perché non è rimasto a casa se voleva?. il gruppo degli anziani e la società dei cavalli non mi piaceva, ma mi piacevano i lillipuziani e i giganti.

I love that the Geronimo Stilton franchise has also released copies of various classic novels. These provide an important 'bridging' book for kids with the attention span to want more than a 'too short' abridged version but need the colourful pictures, highly visual fonts, bigger line spacing, etc. to hold their interest. It has been many years since I read the original but I imagine this has kept very closely to the plot while simplifying the text slightly. Miss 5 is into the colour pictures and font rather than the 'mouseification' of the protagonist but I find it easy enough to rephrase the odd word as I read to her. She thought the book was "Amazing" and liked the contrast between Gulliver being a giant amonst the Lilliputians and tiny amongst the Giants.

Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

3 étoiles. Je n'ai pas lu le vrai livre, je ne peux donc pas dire à quel point cette version est proche de l'histoire originale. Cependant, c'était intéressant. Gulliver était quelque peu énervant (pourquoi n’est-il pas resté chez lui s’il le voulait tant ??) et le groupe des Sages et de la société des chevaux ne m’a pas plut, mais j’ai aimé les Lilliputiens et les Géants.
