A mysterious fire. The return of an old flame. When the sparks fly- will passions ignite, or is someone going to get burned?***Newly appointed Sheriff J.C. Nash has more on his plate than investigating a mysterious fire that's destroyed End of the Line's beloved library. Olivia Evans, the girl he helped save from criminal mischief charges back in high school even as she crushed his heart is all grown up and back in town. Worse than the sparks that still fly between them is J.C.'s fear that they will ignite a passion he won't be able to walk away from--like she did to him, all those years ago. Olivia once believed if she kept moving fast enough, her family's dark secrets wouldn't catch up to her. But when she comes back home to End of the Line to care for her ailing mother, she's forced to face her painful past and face the man--now sheriff--she ran from all those years ago. Unexpectedly, the town and its people begin to creep back into Olivia's heart, giving her the sense of belonging she's longed for. But when things start to heat up between her and the sexy sheriff, how can she convince him to trust that she won't leave again?

When Olivia Evans comes home to End of The Line, she's forced to face her past. Her parents were pillars of the community, but appearances were deceiving. Her father was an abusive alcoholic. Olivia protected her mother. I found Olivia was a strong, determined woman who had the courage to face her situation. It was sad that she had internalized her emotions. Will she get a second chance to make things right and find happiness? J.C. Nash is the Sheriff. Just like his father. He has never gotten over Olivia. Her leaving broke his heart. When he sees her, he's angry and wants an explanation. However, the town is already on edge. People want to know if someone intentionally set fire to the Library? Olivia and J.C. are drawn to each other. Time and distance hasn't changed that. I wanted them to have a future, but I wasn't sure it would happen. Amanda McIntyre pulled me into this emotional romance. I love coming back to End of The Line and catching up with the Kinnisons and their neighbors. I enjoy the dynamics of the town and how they come together to rebuild the library. What a creative solution! I couldn't put down Mr. December until I knew what happened. This story made me feel good.
sexy.. fun and interesting.. it made me smile while reading.. made me feel with the characters.. i felt their emotions strongly.. felt their world and their lives.. i enjoyed feeling as if i was a part of them. i loved it
Amanda McIntyre really should include a warning label on cover of Mr December. It’s should say Warning this book will totally cause you the miss the world going on around for you will be totally consumed and taken away to End of the Line Montana. Book is not easily put down once you start reading. Sheriff J.C and Olivia completely wove themselves around, under, over and deep into my heart, even some of the secondary characters touched my heart especially Olivia’s mother. My Heart is just full of that Awwwww feeling I get when I finish a phenomenally great book. This has got to be Amanda McIntyre’s Best Book yet!!
First, I want to thank Amanda McIntryre for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Mr. December A Last Hope Ranch Novel by Amanda McIntryre is a book for all of you who believe in second chances at love.
Immediately, I was drawn to this beautiful cover with the hunk on it. Not to mention the title and the lettering caught my eye as well. Put it all together and it was a full package for me. So, kudos to the graphic designer on this one. Plus, having read Amanda’s work before I knew I liked her style of writing and genre. So, I just had to read her book.
This book is dedicated to Kristi, Patti, Jennifer, to her supportive husband and family and to the many reader fans who believe like Amanda does that love will find a way.
My heart was totally broken in a million pieces for the loss that the community of End of the Line suffered. Their library with special memories for their characters that made them who they are today burned down. Amanda did an amazing job pulling out the emotions out in the characters of the tragedy of what they truly lost-and how it also would affect the kids. Being a huge fan of books, reading, and the library I just wanted to reach in and do anything I could to help out.
Another thing I loved about the book was the cute small-town vibe. How there were generations of generations of family living in the town where everyone knew eachother.
I found it very fascinating that Olivia was a photographer for travel magazines and freelance for National Geographic. Many authors don’t pick those types of careers for their characters. I was impressed by Amanda’s choice.
Olivia Evans has come home to End of The Line to care for her mother and must face her past. Olivia has proved she had the strength and determination to succeed—as an internationally known photographer—despite the truth that’s been hidden from the town. Her prominent family wasn’t what it seemed. Will she get a chance to make things right and find happiness? Returning to End of The Line after time in the Army, J.C. Nash is End of The Line’s Sheriff, the same as his father was. He’s never gotten over Olivia who broke his heart in high school, leaving town without explanation and no contact through the years—he wants an explanation. Will he find out the truth behind her sudden departure and lack of communication? Do they have a chance, or will she leave his heart be broken once again? With the town on edge as a mysterious fire burns the town library to the ground, J.C.’s plate is full. The town needs to know what happened to the library. Was it an accident or arson? J.C. and Olivia are drawn to each other. Time—and distance—hasn’t changed the attraction between J.C. and Olivia. Will they have a chance? This book just added to the reasons I love returning to End of The Line and catching up with the Kinnisons and all the townspeople. It touched my heart and the added mystery made it a perfect read. This has become a favorite from Amanda McIntyre.
Touching characters. The End of The Line was really just the beginning for Olivia. This is really the last place she would want to be but now maybe loose strings can be taken care of. This is not only a romance but there is a mystery too. That means the main dude Mr. December or Sheriff J.C. Nash will have problems on many fronts. Strong characters in this tale, fun and interesting moments that will keep you totally engaged, and it is all in a very well-written story. I enjoyed the book a great deal and recommend it highly. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Mr. December was a cute and steamy read. I liked all the old time drama, and backstories (which were good) on the main characters to help along the way. The characters were well done. Even some of the minor ones. It's almost like a enemies to lover type book. Olivia didn't really want to be back in the little town called End of the Line. Too many memories and too much drama in her opinion But with little choice, she blows in to help her ailing mother. And just when she thinks everything is fine. Nash the town's lone hunky Sheriff steps in to ask her some questions....
Sheriff JC Nash grew up lonely, neither a jock or a genius, just the son of the town sheriff. He was shunned, and of course, fell for Olivia, the town princess. She has come home, opening old wounds and reopening a dangerous episode from the past. The town library has burned down and suspicion falls on one old high school nemesis. He insists that he is innocent and many believe him. Untangling this is the sheriff's job, while also helping with the new fundraiser for the library, the Men of End of the Line calendar. A little too insta-love for me, but nice anyway.
J.C and Olivia are amazing. You just fall on love with them. They have a history but she broke his heart. He is new to being sheriff and has to find out how the fire started at the library. He has a lot on his plate. I have loved Amanda McIntyre's books for a very long time. She has a way of drawing you in and Mr December's cover definitely drew me in. I would recommend this book very highly!!!!
This really was a good book. It had a great plot that kept you guessing until the end, with just enough romance to keep it interesting. And the surprises just keep adding up,time after time. So I hope you read this,I just know you’ll enjoy it!
A second chance romance with some angst, drama, danger, emotions and love. It was easy to see the connection between Olivia and J.C. I'm voluntarily reviewing this after receiving a free copy.
MR. DECEMBER really tugged at my heart strings...I love a story with secrets and Olivia has a lifelong secret that impacted her relationship with J.C.. Olivia is temporary back in End Of The Line caring for her ailing Mother, J. C. is the new sheriff and on the night they first see each other again, he is investigating a fire. Getting J.C. to commit to being Mr. December for a charity calendar being photographed by Olivia, ignites feeling that can’t be contained. Olivia has a choice to run away again or stay and reveal her secret, trusting J.C. enough to risk her heart again! Ms. McIntyre writes captivating stories, I love to read!
This was so good. 2nd chances are wonderful. A clean read with a bit of drama and intense moments. Olivia and J.C. finally get their HEA, how could they not? The whole town was rooting for them lol. Gotta love small town dynamics and how efficiently they can run. A great cast of characters including Old Blue.
Sheriff wants some answers and its confession time. Cute couple, they obviously have an emotional connection and since they are all grown up they do pretty good at working through all the drama. The "mystery" adds intensity and made this be even more entertaining and more than just a second chance with an old flame. I received a free copy without obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.
