Anna J is back with her tenth novel, and she’s coming out the door blazing hot! Get ready for the ride of your life.
Two is company, but three is definitely a crowd, especially when we all want the same man. Who does a man love the woman he lies to or the woman he feeds the truth?
In the game of love and war, it’s so easy to get sidetracked when you’re the most sought after guy in your city, but for Chase Warren, he wants more. Bedding chicks is light work for him, but finding a forever queen proves to be a little more challenging. That is, until he lays eyes on Selah. She has everything he’s looking for and more, but one mistake could cost him everything. Will Chase tell Selah the truth to save his relationship, or will he slip up before he gets the chance to save face? Men will be men, but with a woman like Selah, being reckless comes with consequences that could truly be the end of him.
Anna J. started writing as a child, creating short stories in her creative writing classes. This later turned into writing poetry in high school. In her early twenties she entered a short story contest, and her first work of fiction "Stories To Excite You: Menage Quad" was published. Always an avid reader, Anna J. saw a void in the industry. The types of books she wanted to read hadn't been written yet. With that in mind, she penned her first book "My Woman His Wife", published in 2004, which quickly became an Essence Magazine best seller. Anna J went on to pen 12 novels. She also participated in 9 short story compilations, and self-published 9 works of fiction. Anna J. Is currently at work on future releases.
Sajdah is an educated, career-driven woman who happens to fall for a street guy named Chase. Deciding that she’d rather pursue her career than love, she hands him over to her twin sister Selah. Once feelings get involved, Sajdah is determined to get her man back...by any means necessary.
Selah is finally giving in to this thing called love, which is hard for her, considering she’s already had her heart broken before. What will she do when she finds out that betrayal is not too far behind?
It’s even more hurtful, when she finds out who is all behind the deceit.
This is Anna J’s return to the literary industry after a ten year hiatus, and let me tell you something...it’s like she never left! I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎 book, and hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.
I listened to this on audio and when I tell you there is so much going on in this book!!! Lawd... Selah and her girls are bat sh*t crazy, and Sajdah needs to talk to a professional. The sex scenes were on POINT. Narration was absolutely amazing, although I am a little bias when it comes to Dylan Ford. Characters were well developed and I cant wait to see where this story goes. Anna J did her thing.
Raise your hand if you were underwhelmed by this story. 🖐🏽 this book had all the hallmarks of a juicy book that I could sink my teeth into but the execution sucked. ▪️Twin sisters screwing the same man✔️ ▪️Opening scene w/one of the twin sisters burying dude✔️ ▪️Crazy set of secondary characters to keep the story interesting ✔️ This book sounded interesting and I was ready to learn about the Double Cross in the title. Unfortunately, I just didn't care enough to finish. The characters were inauthentic and unrelatable. I could not get into the story at all. I see this book got a lot of high marks so I'm assuming this book just isn't for me.
I first started reading in Barnes and Noble and the beginning definitely caught my attention. I really enjoyed how the story was written out timewise. Learning about Sajdah and Chase's secret was definitely an unexpected plot twist. Also, Chase's POV towards the situation was also surprising. It shows you that none of the narrators can truly be trusted. I was so convinced Chase wanted Sajdah first because of how she saw it in her head, but Chase told us something completely different.
I feel like Selah was the main character and thankfully she was actually likeable compared to everybody else. However, her being a murderer. didn't make sense. I mean she seems to be a regular pretty girl with a 9-5.. what do her and her friends know about killing people, hiding bodies, cleaning crime scenes, etc? Seemed a little unrealistic but the book is fiction so whatever.
The book had way more smut than anticipated. I mean if they weren't doing it, they were reminiscing on the last time they did it. I thought it dragged a little and felt unnecessary at times. Also Vicerean(?) betraying her friend just to have sex with Chase was insane. I wouldn't have expected that from her seeing how upset she was with Sajdah doing it.
I could really go on about this book but overall I enjoyed it and will definitely read the second one.

Anna J has done it again. Selah and her twin sister are sleeping with the same man (Chase). Selah's friends Vice and Skye always have her back. Even if it means murder. This book was fun and messy. Anna J knows how to grab your attention. We get multiple povs from everyone and it only enhances the story. There were a few things that left me like? (Like Chase talking about how him and his brother share a dad but weren't biological brothers?) But if you're a fan of Urban fiction with a twist, this is for you.
I listened on audio & the book is good! Selah & her twin sister Sajdah were in love & sleeping with the same man, drug dealer Chase! One of Selah's best friend (Vice) who she trusted with her life, who helped her get rid of dead bodies turns around & stabs her in the back & sleeps with her my Chase also, that she has yet to learn about!!!
My question is, who is Selah & how did she become so gangsta like & get away with all these murders, thus far? Shots Fired pt.2, must be read!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have to say this book was like none I've ever read. It was packed with deceit and treachery that left me disgusted with the characters actions while at the same time eager to hear more from each of their perspectives. I rather enjoyed that the book was told in many perspectives and thought the author pulled it off well.
I read a couple of books by Anna J. years ago and I must say she did not disappoint me once again. Selah is not to be played with and her twin sister is just plain wrong. Then there is Vice, what a mess! Skylar maybe her only true friend...
Absurb storyline. Too many unnecessary "segs scenes" just randomly sprinkled throughout the story. Not against spice, but these seemed long and drawn out and really slowed the book down. Not willing to try for part 2. I'll take the epilogue as enough

Good story line! Drama filled and I was thinking of what would happen next Baby, I was left thinking this chick is crazy as hell! I loved reading about my old neighborhood I grew up in , in Philly.. Thanks Anna J!
Twin sisters are sharing the same man but only one of them knows it. Selah didn't know that Chase was interested in Sadjah first. Read the book to find out what happens when she finds them in bed together. On to the next book! .
The Double Cross shows perspectives of two identical twin sisters; Saleh and Sadjah growing up with a close relationship. It becomes Severed by one man. Theres not enough excuses in the world to reason with getting with your twin sisters man! Great read Anna <3
