Being written by a leading authority on bible prophecy, Grant Jeffrey, this book advertises to explain the current (as of 2002) United States war on terrorism in the context of biblical interpretation. In that aspect, this book fails miserably, as I have read much better material concerning End Times prophecy.

However, where this book really grabs you is in the history lesson it gives about the relationship between the United States and the Middle East. Whereas the current U.S. news media (and its seemingly inherent liberal bias) constantly bombards us with messages about the negative aspect of the war on terrorism and the Iraq occupation, in this book Jeffrey makes a very convincing argument that the U.S. is indeed doing the right thing by fighting a global war on terrorism.

By showing the depth of the hatred for the Western nations harbored by the Arabic/Islamic nations, as well as making the point that strong connections DID exist that made Iraq a worthwhile target after the invasion of Afghanistan, Jeffrey contends that this long conflict against terrorism is as necessary as defeating Hitler's Germany in World War II.

The only reason I don't give this book a five-star rating is because it bogs down a bit when discussing such things as NATO and the EU and the supposed coming World Government. There is too much conjecture in that portion of the book to make any reasonable points or predictions.

So, if you harbor the mindset that the United States of America (and her allies, as few as they currently may be) is undergoing a noble cause by trying to rid the world of terrorism, then please pick up this book, as it will give you information about terrorism that you will never get whiff of from the mainstream media. I would also recommend this book to those who would just like to get the opposite perspective of the U.S.'s war on terrorism (and more specifically Iraq). There are always two sides to every story, and you already know the agenda of the media, so read this book and decide for yourself whether the war against terrorism is worth fighting.

Terrorism is forever in the headlines. With the latest tragic events that have occurred in the Western world in both France and Australia it's hitting closer to home. In War on Terror the author examines events occurring prior to and in 2001 and its far-reaching effects on the world.

The late Grant Jeffrey's War on Terror may - as it pushes 15 years old - at first glance seems to be outdated. Long time viewers and readers of Jeffrey will know that he tended to focus on prophecy and how it was/is being fulfilled. With that in mind we may pass over this title with the idea of it being no longer applicable. But delving into this small but mighty book readers will see how prophecy has been fulfilled and pick up some educational facts along the way.
