Koge-Donbo (or Koge-Donbo*) is the pen name of a Japanese manga artist. Koge-Donbo* started her career soon after college as a doujinshi artist. She got the idea of a unique pen-name, Koge-Donbo* from Akira Toriyama's pet cat. She made her first official US appearance at Otakon 2004 in Baltimore, MD as a Guest of Honor. She's known best as the author of Pita-Ten, Kamichama Karin, and Kamichama Karin Chu series.
This is one of my favourite artbooks. Not only does it fully devote itself to artworks of a series I've enjoyed for a long time - Pita Ten - but it's also exactly what I expect of an artbook; full sized illustrations which make up almost every page of this book. I've always enjoyed Koge-Donbo's art, it's very much on the cute side and might not appeal to everyone, but it's also a distinct style that is easily recognised.
Lovely artbook by Koge Donbo published by Tokyopop, her art style is so unique and attractive, I am a big fan of her art. Crisp, clean outlines, bright colours, her artworks focus mainly on the characters and less so on the backgrounds. And the outfits she drew for the characters are always so pretty.
Pita Ten is a super cute manga, and this is a super cute art book! Some of the poses feel a bit anatomically off- do knees bend that much, ect, also there is a noticeable lack of backgrounds. Over all, if you like the series or Koge-Donobo, check it out!
