I love redheaded men. Yes, redheads. Any shade from strawberry to bright sunset to hot-rod red. I love gingers and they love me.
I love the way their freckles stand out. I love the way their necks get red when they get hot, sunburned or turned on. I love the way I can spot one in a room and know they’re going to be mine.
I love them so much, I’ve earned a nickname: Pumpkin Pounder. (I’m not going to put that on my resume, but it suits me.) The one thing I love as much as redheads is Halloween night in New York City, so when my friend invites me to a wild costume party aboard an old tug boat, I’m ready for anything...especially meeting the perfect guy. The perfect, redheaded guy...with an Irish accent.
Problem is, what if I want him for more than one night? -- PUMPKIN POUNDER is a fairytale remix, a reverse Cinderella story inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, An Affair to Remember and SATC. Laura Lovely’s Fairytale Remixes promise short hot-n-humorous romances inspired by fairytales, mythology and pop culture.
This Halloween novella had shockingly more depth than I expected from the title haha. It was a great blend of humor, spice, romance, and even a bit of hard hitting emotion. I definitely recommend this one if you want something quick and entertaining (and the audiobook was great)!
A short, steamy, Halloween novella about a girl obsessed with hooking up with redheads. Until she meets a sexy, red headed Irishman on Halloween who makes her suddenly want more than just one night.
It’s ridiculous, but I was entertained the entire time.
The ending was also surprisingly romantic and cute, and I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas inspiration.
We get steam, humor, romance, self introspection, therapy breakthrough and personal growth all in less than 60 pages! A fantastic romance to read for Halloween!
*Did a re-read one year later and loved it just as much the second time around. Annual Halloween read for sure!
This little novella was just delightful. So well paced, but never rushed. Just the right amount of everything? Honestly... for what what I’m looking for in a novella, it was perfection.
This novella was freaking WONDERFUL. It put me through way more emotions than I thought a steamy novella was gonna put me through. I teared up a lot towards the middle of the book. Like this author was kinda putting me THROUGH IT.
Like this book has the Halloween party spirit, it has very explicit and steamy sex scenes. Like oh my freaking GAWD the scene where he eats her out!?!?!? One of the BEST going down/eating out scenes I've read and in a NOVELLA!?!?
It was also incredibly adorable. Like my chest was getting tight because the sweetness from the love interest and just how sweet they were to each other UM.
And the EMOTIONS?! Daisy, the main character really has so much character development for such a quick read and I really felt her struggle with being nicer to herself and just learning to give herself what she deserves and that she IS a keeper.
This was absolutely freaking fantastic. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK. I AM STILL SNIFFLING.
Also I'm going to be IMMEDIATELY reading more of Laura Lovely's books. ASAP!!
Daisy has a thing for red heads. That’s one thing she is known for and why she was nicknamed ‘Pumpkin Pounder’. So on Halloween night she’s on a mission to find her very own pumpkin and she does just that but could this turn out to be something more than one night?
This novella is silly, steamy & sexy and I really enjoyed it! The title gets your attention doesn’t it? And with the blurb you know you’re in for a quirky adventure. It was short but it still packed a punch. It wasn’t just about the hookup which I appreciated. It was fun and silly though with movie references that made me smile. The hero was definitely swoon-worthy and they had amazing chemistry with some steamy scenes. The ending left me wanting more of course. I hope the author plans to continue this series though because I would love to see where Daisy and her man are now and also some for some of her friends to find love. ‘Pumpkin Pounder’ was the perfect Halloween romance and I’m happy I gave it a try. 4 Stars!
This was actually really adorable! And hot, and kinda deep??? Daisy’s inner dialogue was getting on my nerves but then she started to grow on me. Ending was so cute!
This is an incredibly fun, quick erotic story. Laura Lovely does vanilla sex REALLY well, and this story was arousing and sexy. It's a Halloween themed story based loosely on Cinderalla, but with a very erotic middle. Also, the more romantic heroes with an Irish brogue, the better. Incredibly sexy read. Strongly recommend.
Redheads are her weakness. She craves them. When a handsome one with a strong Irish accent and freckles galore ends up in her bed, it's not a surprise, however their connection is.
This steamy novella not only fulfilled my high expectations but surpassed them. This book was so wonderful, how the pumpkin pounder met someone, a stranger and in the course of one night her whole perspective of her life changes. How wonderful is that. I love how their connection, even if there was a real moment there where she thought they might never meet again, changed her life. It was wholesome and beautiful. I loved how the author described the anxiety of dating, putting ourselves out there, and more often than not being rejected and tossed aside.
I thought this was going to be a hot bit of holiday candy. Sweet but forgettable. It took a turn that made it so much more and so much better. Honestly, one of my FAVORITE reads this year.
Was a short little book with some spice and then circled back around well. Figured it was a more Halloween themed book but it turned out to mostly focus on a girl who “Pumpkin Pounds” by having sex with gingers…
It was a funny quick little read. I thought it would be more unhinged given the name but it had a rom com feel lol I actually had alot of giggles throughout it haha. If you are into the Halloween novella spirit - give it a try lol
A novella that packs a punch, I didn’t expect the therapy session and it actually gave this book a soul. If you decide to read it tho brace yourself for many a mention of being a “pumpkin pounder”, but then it’s also explained why there are so many so it works.
