Roberto “Heathen” Ricci is a gangsta unlike any other. He grinds hard, stays to himself, and has a trigger finger that stays ready.
Chantel ‘Candy’ Moore is video vixen whose only concern is making enough money to put herself through college.
After a chance meeting, Heathen’s cutthroat world spills headfirst into Candy’s leaving her vulnerable. Feeling a connection with the cocoa skinned bombshell, Heathen goes against his instincts and takes her under his protection.
It seems as if Heathen is the hero that Candy never though she needed and as love blossoms, Heathen finds his family challenged and is backed into a corner with seemingly no way out, until Candy proves her love in a way that Heathen never saw coming.
They both find out that the other is not quite what they seem. Candy finds out that even heathen’s have a soft spot; and Heathen learns that not all candy is sweet.
This book rights here. It’s definitely has some intriguing and exciting twists and turns.
Now, this book may be the first in a this collection, but it’s definitely one to leave you thirstin’ for more. Although, this is not the first time I’ve ever read anything from Abiegail Rose. It is the first time that I’ve let it be known , just how wonderful her work is. And I’m looking forward to reading what happens next with Heathen and Chantel.

This was my first time reading this author. The book was really good and I'm now looking for book 2 to this series. Heathen was definitely a boss in every way. I liked the characters and the banter between Candy & Heathen. She was not a pushover and spoke her mind when he thought she would back down. I would like to see what this author has in story for the other characters in this book. There were grammatical errors as well as character names written in scenes and places incorrectly. Although they didn't take away from the storyline they were noticeable.
I really wanted to like this book but it was just too messy and all over the place . The way Heathen and Candy got together made no sense to me. The story seemed like a rush job. I’d read this if you had nothing to do.
