He was her best friend's older brother, but by the time she grew up... he was gone.
Lane has loved Pierce, her best friend's brother, since she was in braces and pigtails, but he never knew she was alive. For years she endured being treated like just another kid sister, all the while wishing she could catch his attention, but knowing it would never happen. Pierce was too cool, too mature, too... everything! It was no wonder he left their hometown behind and never came back.
Pierce watched Lane grow up next to his sister, never thinking twice about her until one very specific Christmas, when his thoughts became anything but brotherly. Scared by his feelings, he stopped coming home, keeping himself away from temptation.
But when Lane agrees to a blind date for a Christmas Ball, Pierce realizes this just might be his chance. Can the magic of the season and the power of mistletoe help him in his cause? Or have Lane's girlish fantasies been left in the past?

This is super cute, but sooo short. I didn't realize going in to this how short it was. I mean, it's like taking a quick shot of the warm and fuzzies, but I was really hoping it was going to be a full length story.
Evanwood’s Christmas Ball is coming up and Lane and her friends are going to be there come hell or high water. They were misfits in high school and ten years later still are, but the organiser, Camille (in high school the epitome of beauty and wealth), has thrown down the gauntlet at Lane's feet - it's couples only and "She wrote me a nice little letter about how sad it was I wouldn’t be able to come and that maybe I would have better luck next time." Wren, Lane's best friend, sets up a mystery date for her, while settling for the odious Silas for herself. When the night of the Ball arrives ... you'll just have to read it and find out. It's silly, regresses the characters a decade back to high school, and yet is incredibly cute and sweet. "Mistletoe Magic" is far too short, and may well have been a much better book with a more nuanced plot, but it works fairly well as it is. 3 solid Stars.
I liked it but I didn't love it. I thought it would be longer but it really cuts to the chase. Unrequited love becomes not so unrequited, in fact, save for a few years when they were kids, it was reciprocated quite ardently. Enough for him to stay away because he didn't want to come between Lane and his sister Wren's friendship. His reasoning for staying away is, in my opinion, noble but dumb. They likely would've had a relationship the entire time if they'd just had a conversion. Actually, the more I think about it the dumber their lack of communication is. All in all, it's a cute short story. I'll read the rest of the series but likely won't re-read this particular story again.

“Mistletoe Magic” is good for the soul, like a warm cup of cocoa in front of a blazing fire. This Christmas romance fully satisfies the craving for a perfect happy ending.
Pierce is everything Lane has wanted—good looking, funny, and kind.
Lane is what Pierce has dreamed of—beautiful, sweet, and loving.
Too bad it’s all fake, or is it?
Throw in a high school nemesis, exclusive couples dance, and some fierce friends, along with plenty of mistletoe, and you have the recipe for a wonderful story.
I have loved the books by this author that I have read and this one looks like the beginning of another fun series based around mistletoe and "special" dates for a 10 year reunion. Lane and Pierce start off with this book. Pierce was Lane's brother's best friend while they were growing up. Unbeknownst to the other they had feelings for each other. A sweet, easy read that will help put you into the holiday spirit, while promising additional books on a regular basis.
I received an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING
Lane and her friends are invited to their 10 year reunion, but it's a couples-only dance, planned by the mean girl from their class. None of the 6 friends are dating anyone, so they decide to find fake dates for each other and go. Lane's date cancels, so her friend Wren says she'll find someone, and gets her older brother, who Lane had a crush on. They discover mutual feelings, and put the mean girl in her place. I really liked this book and look forward to more of the friends' stories.
I loved the plan these girls had about each taking a blind date to the Christmas Ball. Lane and Pierce have both had a crush on each other for years but didn't know the other did. Pierce's sister played matchmaker but how will this turn out when Lane finds out? All kinds of things are happening a the dance - great setup for the rest of the series. Pierce handled the mean girl really well. A great ending. Looking forward to book 2!!!
You never know what your decisions will bring. Add in meddling friends. But especially the magic of mistletoe during the holiday season. Loved this story of romance with a ton of misunderstandings that almost derail the whole thing. You’ll be thinking what’s going to happen right up to the end. So sweet! I received an arc from the author in exchange for my volunteer review.
This was a very quick read and a cute Christmas story. It is about two people who have had a crush on each other for years and finally get to have their first date. As usual there is a bully who tries to ruin the evening, but communication finally sets things straight!
ARC reader- once again not disappinted. This book is a breath of fresh air from the usual books I read. The author has a way of captivating the reader with her words. Eagerly awaiting the next books while still wishing for a Pierce of my own.

Who would believe 6 friends challenge each other to take a blind date to a snooty woman's Christmas party/ball. A fell good Christmas story where Lane & Pierce discover the attraction they have for each other. A quick read at a great price. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Short sweet read. Lane needed a date for her 10 year reunion. When her friend backs out. The girls decide on fake boyfriends. Except Lane doesn't have fake feelings for Pierce.
A fun beginning to a new series, sweet and very enjoyable. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the series! I received an advanced reader copy of this book and happily choose to review it.
This one was darling! I didn't read it first, I read the 4th in the series, but I had to immediately read the other three. I love the interconnectedness of all the stories. And Lane and Pierce were perfect together. Swoon-worthy.
