Evanwood’s Christmas Ball is coming up and Lane and her friends are going to be there come hell or high water.
They were misfits in high school and ten years later still are, but the organiser, Camille (in high school the epitome of beauty and wealth), has thrown down the gauntlet at Lane's feet - it's couples only and "She wrote me a nice little letter about how sad it was I wouldn’t be able to come and that maybe I would have better luck next time."
Wren, Lane's best friend, sets up a mystery date for her, while settling for the odious Silas for herself.
When the night of the Ball arrives ... you'll just have to read it and find out.
It's silly, regresses the characters a decade back to high school, and yet is incredibly cute and sweet.
"Mistletoe Magic" is far too short, and may well have been a much better book with a more nuanced plot, but it works fairly well as it is.
3 solid Stars.
