*sigh*

I finished this read with a sense of incomplete...or unsatisfied....or like I missed something...pretty much all three feelings.

Granted I knew going it this was a short read, however, you can have a short read that is fully developed and this one is not. Never felt like I know the MC or FMC. Their relationship was super fast and the action went from 0 to 120 in .3 seconds. If you could get whip lash from a read good golly I think I have it!

Happy reading! DD

Excellent shifter romance between rogue wolf shifter Lukas and the half breed human/wolf child of an alpha. Forbidden romance, plenty of suspense, a killer wolf after the pack, intrigue, and plenty of well-rounded characters. Loved this so much. One of the best shifter romances I've read in a while. Highly recommended!!!

I thought that this was a really great read and a terrific start to this new series. The story was quite engaging and grabbed and held my attention easily with a entertaining blend of excitement, danger, action, clever banter, pack politics, sizzling attraction and steaminess. I liked Lukas and Annie and I felt that they made an excellent couple. Annie had plenty of sass and spunkiness and Lukas was hot and honorable. I can't wait to read more books from this series. I am electing to post a sincere review.

Pretty good shifter story (start of a series) about a halfie wolf shifter who is the daughter of the local Alpha. When a rogue shifter shows up at the pack bar with a warning for her father, Annie rushes to check on her dad. It seems there is a pack of rogues in Europe who are wiping out small packs, and they are headed for Maine next. The leader of the rogues apparently has a vendetta against Hann and when Lukas learned of this and of the packs murderous ways, he knew he had to do something.

You will eventually find out why Lukas is a rogue, which is a killing offense to other shifters. Annie will also find out things she can't imagine about her parents. Annie and Lukas will be drawn to each other, but her halfie status and his rogue label will not be in their favor. There are a couple of friends who will probably make the next book in the series, one wolf and one human.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

For a short read, I thought I'd take a chance on it based on all of the great reviews. And I'm a person that rarely, very rarely calls it quits half way through a book.

I knew during the first 7% I didn't like it, but I held out hope. The other positive reviews made me think, hey it's gonna get better. I started scanning at 25% and called it quits at 47%. However, this is my fault. I need to learn to just quit and move on to another book on my list.

I'm into strong female characters. Strong, assertive, confident, smart etc. I like watching growth, and overcoming challenges individually as well as with others. This MC, was nothing but thirsty for me. I was hoping for growth, development, something... anything.

Annie: I went from not being able to connect to her, to annoyed, and finally indifferent. The tone I set for her voice, probably didn't help either as the book progressed.

From the first 6% of the book.

Annie a halfie (half shifter/human) gets a phone call about her Alpha father speaking to a rogue shifter. She doesn't trust her dad making a decision to meet him in private. Despite him leading one of the largest packs. There are also other shifters, including her father's second in command.

She rushes to his office, busts into the apparent private conversation he's having with the rogue (which turns out to be Lukas). Tries throwing around sarcasm, then demands answers from them.

"Go easy on him? Dad, this is a rogue. Standing in the middle of your office. Tell me what the hell is going on."

Now, she's calling her father out in front of a random.

Looking past the MC's attitude, I have an issue with how the pack's dynamic is presented. I do have this idea of Alpha's, and challenging them in front of randoms isn't something you do. It's shows a lack of respect. Lack of control over his pack, and if he can't control his pack - is he really an Alpha?

There is also a point where a few of the shifters try to attack Lukas, after the Alpha gave a directive Lukas wasn't suppose to be hurt. Annie steps in to keep the fight from happening. She keeps Lukas safe. First by saying her father says he's not to be touched. But they aren't swayed by that, so she goes with her father isn't going to be happy if they put hands on her.

How is he the Alpha? He doesn't have any control over his obnoxious daughter, or his pack.

While I don't mind how tropes can change to make a story interesting. But, there are some parts I don't think should be changed. And if you do change it, you better be on the mark. Otherwise, it's going to completely turn me off of the story. Having a weak Alpha pack leader, especially one that's suppose to be a main one, just doesn't work for me.

I just couldn't get through it.

Annie, half-human/half-wolf, got a frantic call from her friend, Kato, that a rogue shifter just arrived at the bar needing to talk to her father, the Alpha leader of the Moonlight Maine Pack. Rogues entering any Pack territory was not only forbidden, but packs were permitted to kill rogues on sight if necessary. When Kato said the rogue was with her father in the back room, and not even her father’s bodyguard was allowed in, she almost hit another car in shock!

Rogues tended to be murderers which is usually what got them thrown out of their pack. Her father should not be alone with the guy! She stormed into the back room and she and Lukas glared at each other. Her father asked Lukas to explain what was going on. He said he met a rogue group led by a shifter named Kaiser. Because he was a rogue too, they became friendly. They talked about going for a hunt, but Lukas felt something was off and didn’t join them. They had attacked a pack and killed off almost everyone. Seeing them covered in shifter blood, Lukas couldn’t accept pure evil like that and had to make things right. Although the Elders were investigating, Lukas said that Kaiser had bragged to him that he was on a quest to kill everyone in Moonlight Maine Pack while their Alpha, Hann Bellova, watched. He would then slowly torture and kill the Alpha, definitely sounding like a revenge killing! So Lukas risked his own life to come here to warn Hann. Hann stepped out to update the pack while Annie “guarded” the rogue and glared at him. He enjoyed watching her roll her eyes whenever he made a snarky remark to her.

Annie doesn’t trust Lukas, yet she is aware of the undeniable attraction between them. When the enemy arrives, where will Lukas’ loyalties be? Will he stay to protect Annie? Will he fight for her father’s pack? Will he and Annie find a future with each other, despite loving a rogue being unacceptable?

This author does an amazing job writing these excellent stories! Lukas, even if notorious for being a rogue, still has integrity and a good heart -- a broken hero who stands up to do the right thing regardless of danger to himself. The story line is great and fast-moving to keep the reader fully engaged. You won’t want to miss this one – it’s one of those that will stay with you long after the final page.

What a forbidden love!

Into the shifters’ world, ¿is it possible that love between a halfbreed wolf and a rogue survive and grow? Lukas had arrived at Moonlight Maine Pack, to warn the Alpha Leader that an old danger was coming to his territory to look for revenge. This is an unusual job for a rogue when he was risking his own life to give this warning on time. In front of him and defending her father was Anastasia, Annie for her friends, a halfbreed with more fire and willing that anyone on the pack. During a moment of their brief interaction, she realized she felt something was different in Lukas and did him too. Against odds, they were willing to admit their feelings for each other, although danger and secrets came in their way.

Sarah J. Stone gave us a wonderful snapshot about wolf shifters’ world, with their own rules and living ways, approaching human feelings like love and loyalty to these characters, to be better understood as beings capable of surrendering their convictions for a greater good. Enjoyable reading that you gave attached from page 1 until the end.

💢This book captivates you from the first page, to the last-full of magic and your dream boyfriend.
🔹️Anastasia Bellova aka: Annie is a halfie = WolfShifter/Human and daughter to Hann Bellova Alpha of the Moonlight Maine Pack. If there was a fight she would say “Bring it” that’s right no fear. When the Rogue Lukas showed up she was ready how dare he come into their territory he had no rights he was dead. OMG she couldn’t believe how handsome he was, everything about him just made her HOT. But then again here he was a bearer of bad new for her father, for her pack could they trust him or was he there spying for the villain?
☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I have started reading her books. Love them!

Lukas is a rogue wolf but when he learns that another batch of rogues have been killing other packs of wolves for revenge he reported them. However he was still worried about the next pack they were talking about going after so he risked his life to come warn Hann the packs Alpha what the rogues were planning. Annie is only part wolf and part human but even she knows that Lukas being there is bad. Lukas is drawn to Annie but he won't risk upsetting the pack about going after her when he came to help. Yet if there is an attack she will be his main concern. Will the pack trust Lukas? Can Annie see that he is different from other rogues?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Annie the half human daughter of a Pack Alpha meets a forbidden Rogue Wolf.
Annie the half human daughter of Pack Alpha Hann goes back into his office behind the bar after she hears there is a Rogue Wolf in there with him. Rogue Lukas has come to see Han after he had fallen in with a group of rogues who had gone hunting one night and come back covered in shifter blood after destroying a small pack causing Lukas to leave in the night. He warns Hann that their leader has stated that he intended to kill Hann as he had killed his father. Hann asks Lukas to stay until the rogues are dealt with and gets Annie to take him to get a room. Annie finds interacting with Lukas a strain as she finds herself attracted to this forbidden wolf

A different kind of shifter

Lukas is a Rogue shifter. Unlike most rogues he did nothing wrong to deserve that title. Any shifter who doesn’t belong to a pack for any reason whatsoever is considered rogue and is slated for immediate death. Lukas takes his life into his hands when he approaches the alpha of the Moonlight Pack with news that the son of an old enemy is rallying rogue wolves to attack his pack. At that first meeting he also meets Anastasia, the alpha’s daughter. There is an immediate attraction on both sides but Annie knows that rogues are no good and that nothing can come of it.
The view of shifter society is different in this book and more thought provoking. It would be interesting to find out how a shifter becomes an Elder for instance. A good read and the romance isn’t too strong.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Lukas: Moonlight Wolves 1 by Sarah J. Stone is the first book in her new series. I really enjoyed this read because it takes a slightly different view of wolf packs, Elders and rogues. We meet Lukas, a rogue and learn the circumstances of his becoming rogue. Anastasia is a halfie (half human and half wolf) that has always felt outside of her pack. With danger coming for her pack and her (alpha) father, Annie and Lukas find more than just their personal redemption, they find each other. A sweet and spicy story that will have you begging for more. Another great Sarah J. Stone opener with characters that you can fall in love with!

Another good book by Ms. Stone. I always look forward to reading her books because she has such a complex take on the worlds her characters revolve in! In this case, it involves a wolf shifter pack and the hierarchy within not only that pack but a fellow pack that is in imminent danger.
Lukas, a rogue shifter from a wolf pack meets Anastasia, the half-wolf/half-human daughter of the neighboring pack Alpha when Lukas comes to warn her father that their pack has been targeted by a third wolf pack intent on murdering them! There is lots of action, drama, danger, and steam as only Ms. Stone can supply in this first book of her new series!!

Lukas by Sarah J. Stone and Jasmine B. Waters is the first book in the Moonlight Wolves series. In this book, Lukas a rogue wolf shifter chooses to go to Maine to warn the Alpha of the Moonlight Main Pack that there is a murderous wolf shifter with a pack of rogues that is murdering innocent shifters heading his way with revenge on his mind. While in Maine Lukas becomes attracted to Annie the Alpha’s daughter and considers what it might be like to stay there as a member of this pack. This book’s characters were so obviously flawed that I feel in love with them and this unique story. This is a book that you will enjoy right up till the very surprising end. Lukas is an exciting paranormal romance full of suspense and mystery.

Fate never lies, trust her. Annie is a half human, half wolf only child of the Alpha who the pack does not treat kindly. Thea is her human best friend, roommate to whom she's shared the story of paranormals. Kato is their best friend shifter doctor. Lukas is a rogue who came to the pack to warn Annie's dad, Hann about an upcoming threat, Kaiser. He is credible because Hann recognizes the name and understands the threat. Annie and Lukas are attracted to each other and both fight it. Everyone in the story has to confront their truths and make crucial decisions. Will they make the right choices? Will their decisions be on time? Does Kaiser succeed in his killing spree? This was a good story. The tensiona and action are riveting. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

3.5 stars

This was an interesting start to a series. There was a good bit of world building in the story, but there are still elements that I hope will be expanded as the series continues. I really liked Lukas. He was a rogue by shifter standards, but he's really a good guy at heart. He risks his life to warn an alpha of a pending rogue attack. Annie is the halfie (half-human/half-werewolf) daughter of the alpha. She's resistant of her attraction to Lukas because of his rogue status. Annie was an okay character, but there was something about her that I just didn't care for. The story itself had decent pacing. It will be interesting to read the next book.

Annie is a half breed wolf shifter, but she's the alpha's daughter, so she's somewhat tolerated. When a rogue comes to town to warn her father of a pending attack, she feels some kinship to his outcast status.
Lukas had a pack, until he started to take revenge for his father's murder. Now he's been cast out, branded as a rogue and is free game for anyone who feels like killing him. He takes a huge risk coming to warn Hann of a plan he finds out about while staying with an unusual band of rogues.
Annie and Lukas both have several tough choices in their immediate future and a battle or two. Will it bring them together or shove them apart?
Great character and world building. Lots of insight into the culture this series will following and a great base to start it off.

Soooooo many errors... Did the author even have beta readers or a proff. editor? Beside the wrongly used words and sentence structure, the things that were most irritating was the time leaps that didn't make sense sometimes. And they clearly had a good sense of smell also in human form, but the author often forgot she had written this herself and forgot to use this when they just had sex and hoped her father and Kato didn't find out. But.... they can smell it... Humans with a regular sense of smell can smell sex on each other, men can even smell when women are ovulating, maybe they won't think in that direction but their bodies will react to it. So a wolf will definitely smell everything, also, fear, sadness, happiness, sexual attraction.

Anastasia (Annie), half wolf shifter and half human and Lukas, rogue wolf certainly have their problems in their search for a HEA. No pack wants a rogue wolf, they just want to kill him, and Anastasia is barely tolerated by her pack other than her father is the Alpha. She always thought her mother died during her birth, but she found out that wasn’t true. Lukas brings news to her pack that a rogue wolf pack is coming to kill her entire pack which is lead by Kaiser, a mortal enemy of her father. Interesting and engaging story with strong characters.

Lucas the rogue wolf / Annie the halfbreed

Lukas is the first book in a new shifter romance series, Moonlight Wolves, by Sarah J. Stone. I have not read many wolf shifter books so I am still exploring this romance genre but from what I have read before this shifter pack is different. The author was able to draw me into the story and the world in which the characters inhabit. She also did a great job of building a base on which to explore the pack, the town, and the characters in the future books in the series.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is the first book in the Moonlight Wolves series and brings Lukas and Anastasia's story. There's tons of action, suspense and danger as well as all the twists, turns and secrets to keep you glued to the pages. The chemistry is hot and the passion sizzles. I loved the story line and watching them come together. The author brings the story to life with her descriptive writing and vividly painted scenes along with the supporting characters who help to flow the story. It's fast paced and had me hooked from start to finish. I'm looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend.

Annie was a halfie, part human and wolf. Her father’s pack showed her disrespect and disregard. Lukas appears out of nowhere, a rogue. He has his personal story as to why he went rogue. He comes to Annie’s father to tell him about a pack of rogue wolves out to get him. Through the mess, Annie and Lukas get together. The Elders show up wanting to take Annie’s human friend, Thea and Lukas. They battle, and the rogues appear. The war begins…who will win? Who will die? Why are they after this pack? I was not a fan of either Lukas or Anastasia at first. They did grow on me and I enjoyed
their tale.
While I am still unsure of what made Lukas a Rogue, I Iiked him for putting his life in his hands
and seeking out the alpha to advise of the trouble/danger that was coming to his pack.
I liked how Annie and Lukas gradually got together. As the story moved along, even with some
of the back story, I am still not a fan of some of the other characters, namely the Elders.
The HEA is short and sweet, and satisfactory. There's a hint of another romance, and I
hope to read that one soon.

If you have about three hours this book about shifters that are not accepted. We have Annie a half shifter and human. We have Lukas who is a rogue. When Lukas goes to warn Annie's pack, he has many surprises. The Elders don't believe in Rogue, or half shifters, or humans that know about them should live. Will the pack kill Lukas? Will they listen to him? Will Annie accept him? Can he protect her and himself? Can Annie protect her best friend? What will Kato do when he finds out the truth? What will happen when the enemy shows up? What will happen when the Elders find out?

Rogue or Not

Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire Luka and Annie. Both shifters have something to hide and what are they willing to do to protect those secrets.

What I like about this story was that is was controversy from the very beginning and no quick fix was in sight. It is great to read a story that the characters that will have to walk through fire to survive and not have it so easily handed to them which makes for a better read.

Complicated... Relationships are complicated!

Annie is half-human, the only child of Hann, an Alpha shifter. Already one can see rules have been broken! And then Lukas, a rogue shifter, turns up with an urgent warning about a powerful group of rogue shifters, who plan on wiping out Hanna's pack. Somehow with a crazy attraction between Lukas and Annie, mixed 'help' from the Elders, somehow things come together successfully. Whew!! Definitely a happy ever after for their future. Highly recommended!
