About the author

Jason A. Kilgore is a multi-genre author, writing fantasy, horror, science fiction, and poetry. By day he is also a scientist with a global biotech company. He was raised in Arkansas but now lives in western Oregon. He's a father to two teens, loves the outdoors, and is a cat person. He is also horribly addicted to chocolate and will probably write you into a story for the cost of a Ghirardelli milk chocolate bar (but can't promise the character won't die a horrible death... just sayin').

I thoroughly enjoyed this set of paranormal tales. From the first story itself, I was hooked. The atmospheric descriptions of the settings are excellent, and the language is elegant and lucid. My favourite story is 'Catherine's locket.' I could relate to this story emotionally too, and it did make me cry towards the end. Needless to say, the story is brilliantly written. Will look out for more from this promising author.

Great collection

I really enjoyed reading this collection of horror stories. They remind me slot of the Creep show stories that were always a favorite of mine. If you like Twilight Zone and the like, you will really like this collection.

"Around the Corner from Sanity: Tales of the Paranormal" encompasses fourteen short stories from the horrifying to the satisfying. Some stories dive into ghosts, some dive into demons, and some dive into gods you most likely never heard of, but all do one thing...they leave you wanting to read the next one. Jason does an amazing job of incorporating slow-building suspense (like Mr. Poe) and foreshadowing throughout his stories. Just when you think a story is going to end one way, it turns and goes in a different direction.

I definitely recommend it!

This book contains a series of vignettes that flow well from one to another thanks to the author's well-tied threads. The first story involves a potentially haunted necklace that belonged to Catherine the Great. Later, we encounter a story from the Southern backwoods that really freaked me out. There's a loose continuity that seems natural.​​

"Around the Corner from Sanity" was a delight to read. I highly recommend this cleverly written collection of page-turning tales of the paranormal. Expect a great mix of humor, horror, and unexpected endings, not all of which are "happily ever after".

Loved the short story layout. Some of those stories were pretty creepy!
