Phi might be taken care of, but now another problem arises to the South.
Gryff and his team travel to the Southern Continent to address rumors of a risen goddess, and as they trek through the treacherous jungles, Gryff has to keep his wits about him …
This book was very entertaining and the advancement of the plot was well executed. I enjoyed the growth of the characters and the action scenes are fun to read.
This book was a step back in terms of enjoyment from the last few. I think the side quest just wasn't good enough. In fact, it was silly, and the book, which was much longer than the others, ended just as it was getting going.
How the 6 person monster response squad were to 1) infiltrate an army of 10,000 and extract their general (after a several minute prolonged battle) and then 2) defeat said army, despite them also having mages, was flat out unbelievable.
The storyline of what they are doing in this land is great, trying to find and capture another of the Archons, which has set itself up as a goddess to the people.
I really enjoyed the balancing of the MC’s near invulnerability with situations that he barely scrapes through, either b/c his friends save him, or sheer audacity. So. Much. Fun! Also, several of the last couple of books had more build up, and this one was all action. A nice change of pace, and it will be very interesting to see where it goes from here.
Winning battles against bad guy's seems easy, but when they are against mind battles it's so much harder. Griff is a Summoner with amazing abilities that he is still learning more about. He is getting stronger and stronger, but the fights are getting harder and scarier. He worries for his team and the women he loves that they will not survive if he doesn't save them. This was another very enjoyable read and I'm on to the next book.
More awesome fun with Griff and his legion of summoned monsters. Griff is picking up new powers and of course new monsters. He is making more of the prophecy come true. In this episode they have to traverse a dense jungle and fight humans. Something new but Griff and friends are up to it.. Until the next book
I have read the other summoner stories and really liked them. This story though (to me) takes one of the main characters and in my opinion, makes totally flipping useless. In the other stories, Griff is decisive and quick to make decsions. Here, he stands around like an idiot before he does anything. Overall, not a bad story, but disappointing.
A good story but the hero is getting a little stagnant he never learned any new magic he's pretty much a one trick pony he summonse monsters. He has a magic dagger that had some interesting powers but he just used it like a cheap knife no longer used it magic . Hell he didn't even get any new playmates. I hope there's some growth in the next book!
Loving the expansion of this series world to include foreign nations, cultures and politics, and even the battles have changed pace. Best of all, the ever increasing arsenal of Monsters Gruff keeps adding to his collection. Looking forward to the next!
I really enjoyed reading this book. Gryff and his team are searching for another one of Sara's sisters. This time, in a foreign land. Things get complicated as always. The story and characters were interesting, intriguing, and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
Watching the characters grow and develop while increasing their world view is inspiring. Its a lot of fun being part if the method used to analyze a situation and determine how and why to use certain actions to come to a successful conclusion. Bring on Book 10.
Thrilling and entertaining! With every new addition to the summoner series the world grows and you get drawn in to the rich lore and incredible characters! Plenty of action and sexy time as well!
I just love how well these books flow. I could hardly put it down. The characters are great and it’s been fun to see how they’ve changed since book one. It’s just a great series and I can’t wait for the next book.
Loved the next step of their adventure, while it is now a smaller party, I like those you are with him and we get to see the changes having an Archon with him will bring.
Like the new monsters MC gets, and I look forward to seeing the one from the cave. I do wonder if the MC will get a familiar. Plenty of action and humor. Will get next book when it comes out.
I was disappointed in this book, it did actually accomplish much in terms on the main storey line and make aspects ridiculous, student to general in one book. This book takes the title from book 6 as the worst book in the series.
Gryph is tasked with a trip south with his friends All he has to do is stop another Archon from controlling another country and attacking Mistral And of course it becomes a quick, quiet, and peaceful journey...not. A good read.
Another book as good as the last one. A little slower, but definitely not in a bad way. Sex scenes are significantly less disruptive than before, so bonus points sex that doesn't break the story.
The trip to the southern continent Has been interesting they've run into jaguar shifters of different types of monsters are civil war between 2 and at bordering countries What's next we'll see
9 books in and it’s still going strong. I’m really enjoying the new dynamic with Sera and the story is getting even more interesting. Can’t wait for more
