I have an issue that comes in a tidy, neat, little package – my neighbor. She’s driven me out of my mind every day since she moved in a year ago. To make matters even worse, she’s my friend’s sister, Rose Beauregard. To add salt to the wound, she’s a nurse and the sister of a tattoo artist, and I have a huge phobia of needles. I think it would be ok if she’d just stop giving me her special smile every morning, stop being cute, stop giving me that sass which drives me out of my mind.
I’m totally lying – she could wear a paper bag over her head and I’d still want her. The problem is, when I say opposites, I mean opposites in everything – including the fact that I’m me, the most normal guy out and she’s classy AF. I’m not sure that’ll stop me, though.
Rose
Grumpy Raoul Evans, how I do love to mess with him. Smiling and waving at that glare he gives me every morning, the flowers I plant in front of his house, the packages of needles that accidentally fall out of the pocket of my scrubs onto the floor in front of him. It’s all just so much fun.
It used to hurt me when he glared at me, but then I decided to enjoy it and just seize the day, so I do that every day. I’m sure at some point I’ll push him too far, but today is not that day. Maybe tomorrow?
He says I’m classy, I say he’s grumpy, and the rest of the world says opposites attract. I know that I’m attracted to him, but until he starts feeling the same way toward me – or I make his head explode – I’m just going to enjoy pushing his buttons.
I’m a British author who grew up all over the world. My parents were diplomats, so we were posted to all of the corners of the earth and it was a blast. Some wouldn’t seem so awesome if you heard about them, but my parents always made it a fun experience and it molded my brother and I into who we are today.
I live in Wiltshire in the west country of the UK. At random times of the day, I’ll hear a moo from the fields around me, or get a whiff of that…uhhh…’country air’, and I love it! I might not have grown up in the UK, but I’m a British girl to the bone (regardless of the suspicious whiffs coming in from the fields).
I’m a single mother with a son who is nearing his teenage phase. Maybe he’s reached it early? Who knows. But he’s awesome and has a personality and sense of humor that I can only attribute to my family. We’re slightly bonkers, we have a wicked sense of humor and we find the positives in every situation. I’m so proud to be his mum and to watch him grow and mature.
Writing was something that I’d always done. I had a teacher in the third grade who always set us the task of writing a story and making it into a book every weekend. After I left school, I kept this up and wrote as often as I could or just plotted out books. This evolved into me taking the plunge and publishing my first book in 2016 and I’ve been typing ever since.
I’m proud to be an Indie Author, and I absolutely love writing out my crazy Providence characters and the more complex ones in my other series’. It doesn’t matter if it’s romantic comedy or something with more suspense – so long as it has a HEA I’ll do it!
I’ve got so many more planned, so the best is yet to come.
The story starts with Rose and Raoul in the middle of a prank war. Despite being the third of the series, it was easy to understand what was going on. In fact, I liked not having to go through those slow, introductory chapters.
Rose is a nurse. She's smart, confident, sassy, conniving and charismatic. Raoul is a deputy, and he's strong, sweet and just the right amount of challenging. He was Rose's equal in every way.
Their prank war was hilarious! These funny moments were interspersed with more serious moments and I'm impressed with the balance the author managed there. I cried and I laughed.
My only complaint was the rather abrupt ending. All the material was there for the perfect ending, but I guess it lacked a little feeling.
I don't think I'll read the others in the series because I don't love the premises and they don't appear to have the same strong, confident, carefree heroine. But I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a heartfelt story that will make you cry then laugh in the next minute.
We get book 3!! In the series and I fall in love with more characters and cant wait to see their books!!! This one was funny, sassy, and lots of pranks and little steam.
Also the problem with this one to get a 5 star was... the prank wars... I didnt mind them before they were together.. but once they started dating and taking their relationship to the next level.. I got annoyed with the pranks.. but what ya going to do. It didnt ruin the book for me so theirs that.
Rose is Ellis sister a hard working nurse who loves to play pranks on Rhoul her brothers best friend/her neighbor. These two have a sorta love/hate but not really hate relationships, plus theirs some flirty flirting from his side when the banter. What I love about these two even when they were at war, they always worried the pranks would push the other away. Nope it didn't at all. But when Rose job has few dangerous encounters that has Rhoul forgetting why he hasnt taken that leap. Now he has to keep his girl safe, worry alittle about his brother Garret and make sure the pets are okay.
Also I wanna know what happened between Garret and Zuri? That cliffhanger and question Rhoul asked Garret :0
No ow/om drama (unless you count that crazy psycho guy), No cheating, secondary chara, drama, sexy times, no virgins

The way the author mixes serious issues with perfect comic timing is a joy to behold. While there are definite lessons to learn from the book, it's written in a way to completely minimise any triggers, hopefully opening up her books to a wider audience.
I think this is my favourite couple so far. Their interactions nitty only with each other but with their families and friends was brilliant. Their antics certainly kept me on my toes.
Week done on another brilliant book; can't wait until the next one. Wish I had more than 5 stars for you.......
Five freaking huge stars for this!! To date, I have loved everything this author has released! I love her style of writing and I love the fact that all her characters (my people!) are totally relatable! Every single one of them! I have laughed so hard, whilst reading this book! Like, laughed so hard that I am questioning the integrity of my pelvic floor! TMI?! Maybe so but laughing hard whilst having a chest infection?! It can catch you unawares! Any who!! Raoul and Rose have been playing pranks on each other for a while now but when she gets hurt at work, Raoul realises he will do anything to keep her safe, feeling change and grow....but the pranks don't stop! Yes, I admit to making notes......be afraid, be very afraid!! Lol! Honestly, you need to read this book, it's a fantastic addition to the Cheap Thrills series!!!
Please! I am hooked on the cheap thrills series! They. Are. Absolutely. Awesome. You, Ms. Moore crack me completely up, but you make my days better with your writing! All of us need laughter, and when a novel is capable of producing it, this makes you one amazing author! That takes a special kind of writer to make a reader laugh and not be able to stop reading because the story is so good! The Cheap Thrills series has it all, more, more, more,...Please!
I read my first Mary B. Moore a week ago. Since then I've read three more. Every one seems to get better and funnier. The characters are are crazy, funny and real. Though there is subject matter that is about hardship, struggle of violence, she doesn't make it the focal point. Instead it's about over coming these things and being stronger for it. Awesome read that leaves you laughing and wanting more. Thank you Me Moore!
Honestly, just buy her books. The 2 series I've read have funny, loving, strong and brave Heroes and Heroines. I laugh so hard my family comes to check in on me. Her single books (with promises of more) are a mix of heartbreak and joy and yes I cried at both. I bet you'll get hooked after anyone of her stories.
This whole series has been awesome and this book hit the nail on the head between humor, sass, and sweetness! Light hearted fun with suspense that I crave, this book will leave you laughing and sighing in happiness. Can’t wait for the next one!
I love everything by this author. She's my go to when I need a good hilarious story. The thing is she always throws in some serious too. This one did NOT disappoint this avid reader. I highly recommend her books. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
This series is just getting better and better. Loving the couples and how they are meeting their matches. Rose and Raoul are fab. Hilarious and so well matched. Can’t wait for the next book.
I snickered, chuckled and eventually howled with laughter through a lot of this book, a great combination of funny and sweet, with tobasco dashes of heat
I loved Raoul and Rose. This book is laugh out loud funny. Possibly my favorite of this series so far. The pranks are to die for. Such a fun sweet romance.
I have to say I loved the way they pulled stuff on each other. I am glad they end with a happy ending for them. Can not wait to see what in the next one.
