What do you do when the promise of one night turns into a few?
Marley thought the only way to prevent heartbreak was to avoid commitment -- relationships were off the table. But to appease both her heart and hormones, she allowed herself a night with him, but only one.
Boris agreed to the promise of just one night. The thought of a worry free sex life was appealing. Hell he didn’t need the hassle of a relationship either. Or so he thought.
After their first night together he knew he at least wanted one more. But how many nights would it take to convince Marley that he wouldn’t break her heart?

I really enjoyed this novella. I’m a sucker for a book with the author using my city or state as the location for the book.
This was supposed to be a one night hook up. The FMC was tired of being heartbroken so she thought just allowing herself to hook up with the MMC Boris one time would solve her problem but did it really besides he would be relocating so this would be easy until it wasn’t. Night after night caused both of the characters wanting more until it was time for Boris to move.
So here is my PICS Reviews: -Pace: For a novella the pace of the book was chefs kiss. The author didn’t rush the story line. It gave the perfect pace for a short read -Intrigue: This book kept me locked in. The way I wanted the characters to have a happy ending keep me turning the pages (digitally 😂) -Character Development : The characters were developed very well. I felt like I knew them. I loved how the author showed us their friends, family, and careers in such a short amount of time.
This one night turned into a few nights of bliss that sparked the need for more from Boris. Marley has always been an option of a man and never their main choice. Boris decided to switch things from casual to a chance to explore if more was a possibility. Marley was hesitant but it pushed her to get to the root of why she felt she didn't deserve to have more than casual encounters. Very good read
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed Marley and Boris journey to love! I enjoyed the storyline and the love that was displayed between them! Such a fantastic book! I will be reading more by J. Nichole!
Characters were flat, primary and secondary characters. The character development arc is nonexistent. Why did the mains even want to be together? I still don't know why.
I appreciate the insertion of the therapy, I wholeheartedly believe in the power and healing that can come from therapy. However in this case it was just that, an insertion. Marley was committed to her anti-love stance until just before the 50% mark. Then it was suddenly, "okay maybe you're right and I am messed up." Why the conversation with her friends was suddenly an lightbulb moment more than the ones before is a mystery. The snap change in perspective is jarring for this reader. Also the break up with her first serious boyfriend in college seemed like a super lame reason to become an anti-love, one night stand lady.
The school shooting. What the f...! There was no point in this additional to the storyline. It was included merely for shock value and to create drama. Drama that turned out to be absolutely meaningless to the story.
The writing style isn't special. Like the work of an average high school student in a regular English class; not honors or advanced placement, just regular.
This is my first book by this author and I am not inspired to pick up another one by her.
This book was definitely not my thing and pretty disappointing overall, so much so that I didn't bother to finish it. I want to be intrigued from the 1st sentence/ paragraph and then slowly reeled in so that by CHAPTER 3, I'm fully committed to the characters. There was zero connection to either of the main characters for me. I didn't see any reason why Marley and Boris would want to spend more than one night together. In fact, I would say that Marley and Boris were annoying characters. Marley is a high school teacher that shows up to work hungover and Boris is a used car salesman who thinks that one of the perks of his job is sleeping with his female clientele. No! Just no! Unfortunately, these sorts of details only made me dislike the characters and unsympathetic to their story.

I liked how Boris and Marley kept bumping into each other literally and how he k we from the beginning that he wanted more than being her sex buddy but she was scared to put her heart out there again because of they way that her ex Jeremy did her. I'm glad that Marley got over her fears so she and Boris could move forward into a relationship. I'm glad that Russell and Anaya are about to get married and that Lisa stopped wasting her time and broke up with Deshaun because he was to comfortable just having her as his girlfriend after three years. I kind of feel like Lisa and Boris cousin Nick are going to hook up. Robert claims that he didn't want a serious relationship with Bella but he moved into action to get to her quick when there was trouble at the high school. I can't wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next.
Marley was stung by her college boyfriend walking away from the life she thought they were headed towards together. She can't quite let go of her disappointment and disillusionment with him that has spread to a distrust of men. Then she meets Boris and after a couple of chance meetings she thinks, he's fine and maybe if she limits them to sex and only for a night that she can stay safe. But although it is the physical that attracts them, there is more there there. Eventually they start a hook-up thing that over time is not enough and he pushes for more and she runs scared. It was so good to see that these folks were willing to work through their stuff, even the scary stuff to earn their HEA.

Great read. It was worth the wait. I had been waiting for another love story from one of the three friends Anaya, Lisa, and Marley.
I'm glad Marley finally found her guy and it changed her mind about love. They both had to grow and learn how to allow love to entangle the two. I also like how Marley seek help for her horrible break up from Jeremy. She realized without help she was not going to heal and finally let love in. I love how they both broke their first rule of just one night.
I really loved this book Marley and Boris were hooking up for sex only neither wanted a relationship especially Marley, since she had been hurt once before and didn't want to go through that again.Boris was ready for a relationship with Marley and wanted them to give it a shot and just when Marley decided to give it a shot Boris got a job out of state. This book was so good !!
Marley had issues from a previous break-up, she had to let them go, but she couldn’t!! Her friends were having robust love lives and Marley felt sub-par! One night out for drinks with her crew she bumped into him literally! Then in another night with her co-worker age actually met him! The sparks were flying would she for today or let the past spoil her future! Great read!
Sometimes all it takes is one night to see what you can have for life. She was too scared to say or do something that could possibly hurt or help her in the end. Life is about taking chances. She needed to in order to move on to better things.

Ohhhh Marley...sigh. I have no idea how Jeremy could have so much power over her future and that really hurt my heart. Boris was a true blessing and he definitely put in work to extend his one night. This was a great easy read full of spice with a little drama on the side.
I love, love, love the way this story unfolded. It was realistic and moved at the perfect pace.... until the end. Very disappointed that everything was laid out along a believable timeline and then the ending seemed like an afterthought thrown together at the last minute. Wanted so badly to give it 5 stars
This was such a great book this is the fifth book I’ve ready by this author within two weeks The writing is amazing and it keeps you wanting more I cannot wait to read another one of her books she’s such an amazing writer ☺️
Captivating, no strings attached one-night romance story. The characters are intriguing. The well-written book kept my attention throughout, enjoyed reading. I have voluntarily chosen to read and review this book.
I enjoyed the story of Boris and Marley. Glad you showed it is alright to get help if you need it. Loved that Boris didn't let her.issues stop him loving even when he tried to like other woman.
Ah, Boris! Boris was described so well I was wondering where they make em like that! Easy read that kept me reading and cheering for Boris. He was smart, funny and all about that money.
This was a very modern romance. I really enjoyed Marley and Boris's story. It was light, refreshing and natural. It didn't feel forced or rushed. I enjoyed the natural progression of their relationship.
Oh, I so enjoy this book. I absolutely adore the story of Boris and Marley. I thought their story was beautiful from beginning to end. Great job J. Nicole.
Loved the girlfriends vibe, how they supported each other while keeping it real. No strings relationships never work because one of the party usually falls for the other as we saw with Marley and Boris.
I truly enjoyed reading this story of love. Boris helped Marley (love the name) throw her insecurities out the window by giving her the love she deserved. Great story Ms. Nichole thanks for sharing.
It was a cute story. I think Marley was realistic; the past can hurt us women. I love how the author made the man catch feelings first. It's so 2020. Quick, light read. I'm slightly jealous of all of the bomb sex Marley has! Whew!
