As Mey anxiously waits for her transition to begin and for Yamanu to test whether his godlike powers are gone, the clan sets out to solve two mysteries:
Where is Jin, and is she there voluntarily? Where is Kalugal, and what is he up to?
I have enjoyed most of this series, however it is starting to lose it's appeal. Recently the books have been overly 'stuffed' without a lot happening. As with Lokan and Carol's story I think this particular story line, which revolves around Yamanu and May's mating, could have easily been covered in two books rather than three. A reflection of my comment is how often I put the book down. The pace of the story was incredibly slow and there is so much repetition of various facts covered in earlier books. I really feel this series is losing it's way and to be honest if it wasn't available on KU I would not bother reading further.
Dark Queen’s Army (The Children Of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 34) - I.T. Lucas
Another great sequel in this awesome mesmerizing series. Mey and Yamanu’s unraveling story is so different and mysterious. Who could possibly be Mey’s parents and whoever she and her sister get their unique abilities is is going to be a mind blowing surprise. The books and cast of characters keeps growing, each one creatively weaves into the overall mesmerizing world building and storylines. The author keeps expanding the series with surprising action, mystery, suspense, tension, urban fantasy and mythology, hot romance and a rollercoaster of emotions. Seriously could not the book down, read it in one sitting and am not too patiently awaiting the next book.
The two big questions from the last book are answered (eventually) in this book: does Mey transition and does Yamanu still have his powers?
Of course, I won't reveal those answers. That would spoil the whole book!
The unnecessarily long book.
I'm not sure if Kian and Yamanu's conversation about cigars versus cigarillos is pertinent to anything. Not sure how Dalhu breaking his leg skiing moved the story along, either.
I feel like there was a lot of filler in this book and it didn't need to be as long as it was.
There were a few interesting tidbits that pique the reader's interest: Do you remember Syssi's vision/dream about the Krall (a vampire-like people) and the Odus? No? Me either...but it comes up, so your memory will be refreshed. The other interesting thing: Ella's mysterious missing aunt, Eleanor, and her connection to Mey's sister, Jin. (And...Could there be something brewing between Eleanor and Arwel? Hmm...)
Reading this series, for me, is sort of like watching Star Wars...no matter how disappointed I may be with the latest offering, I feel like I have to continue on when the next installment of the series comes out. In both cases, the newest ones will be out within the week and, sucker that I am, I'll be waiting for both.
(I still need to know if Khiann will be resurrected like Wonder was...)
This love story was a slow read. Not much action. Not much chemistry or romance. Overall, I did like it and it had it's moments. I enjoyed the ski trip. Dalhu being competitive against Kian, met with karma. Ella's aunt sounds like a selfish, sociopath. I hope we keep tabs on her and see what she is all about later in the future. It's good to see Mey and Yamanu be together. Yamanu deserves his true-love mate and happiness. What is the story behind Mey's vision/dream of the ODUS? Her's was just as similar as Syssi's vision. There must be something to Mey and the ODUS and I can't wait to get into those details and that story. Mey turns out to be very unusual in her transition, how is she tied to the ODUS? I look forward to her sister, Jin's story and who will she bond with.
This book was more of a recognizance one and nothing really happened, oh except Mey’s transition being the strangest one of all and new theories of another superior species being brought into play.
The team got new info on Kalugal, Ella’s auntie Eleanor and the possible government paranormal division. Magnus and Viv and a small team was sent to gather more intel on the Kalugal lead, and it was not in NY. Kian and Syssi and another small team, including Mey, Ella and their partners, were sent to locate auntie and gather intel about the organization.
The book ended just as a rescue mission had been formed and about to be executed.
See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!
2.5 stars. Mostly slow and boring but Yamanu & Mey get closer but there just isn’t any chemistry there. Transition is the main thing on their minds then finding Mey’s sister Jin. The search for Ella’s aunt and Jin was a little interesting but the rest of the book was a little dull. The ski trip that several couples take to go on the search was cute and leave it to Dalhu to embarrass himself since he is such a quiet and shy one to begin with! Eleanor wasn’t a nice person or at least what we learned of her isn’t nice. I am guessing she is a Dormant but not sure
Great continuation of Mey and Yamanu’s story and more
Love this series, I T Lucas’s books always keep me interested and I can’t put the books down. While a few things were wrapped up in this story I feel that this book was definitely a big set up for what is to come next. I still have so many questions and I feel that a few things like the mysterious Odus and Krall are going to pop up later in the series. Interesting books with likeable characters that always leave you wanting more.
And the plot thickens... Can’t help wondering what Mey will want to do as she joins immortality. Will she want to do something along the lines as that of her days in the Mossad? What about Eleanor? I have some thoughts on that one. What about Jin and the other dormants? It’s so exciting I can’t wait to read the next one!! Magnus and Vivian’s trip to check out Khalugal’s compound, short but insightful. Can’t wait to read what is going to happen there. So much to read!!
This is the final book of the three book segment in the series of 34 so far . Yamanu and the other guardians are helping Mey find her sister Jin . They first have to find her by locating Ella's aunt who they believe could be a compeller like Parker and Lokan . Eleanor could be working for the organization that have Jin . I loved the story and the entire series . I can't wait for the next trip of books about Jin .
You would think that so many books in a series would start to get boring. Not this one. Each book I read makes me anxious for the next one. I was hoping if they found Eleanor she would be Arwels mate. I impatiently wait for his book. I. T. Lucas will keep you on the edge of your seat with each book in this series. If I could have given it more than 5 stars I would have.
Plans, plots, spies and hidden agendas run rampant in Dark Queen's Army as Kian has his Guardians searching for Kargarul in one city and Mey's sister Jin in another. It's like a spy novel on steroids, with a strong dash of romance. All, and I do mean ALL, the key players from the previous books make an appearance including a precocious and precious Phoenix. Enjoyed this book tremendously, looking forward to Book 35 and finally meeting Jin!
Isabell T. Lucas has definitely earned the top 10 Kindle rating with each of her Children of The Gods books so far. Her books hook you in, and you will find that you not only don't want to set one down, you don't want to set down each set of three about someone's HEA...and then you are already drawn into the next set...These are masterfully written, and wonderfully enticing. I think they are great for anyone from 16 to 99+
There is not a cliffhanger, but the ending will have you itching for the next book! I will be impatiently awaiting for its release date. Mey does transition in this installment, but with a few surprises. I absolutely love the relationship between Mey and Yamanu, I cannot wait to read more about them in the future.
I loved this book! In fact, I love the entire series!!! I can’t wait for the next release!
This is my favorite series of books! Isabelle is an amazing storyteller. I truly can’t wait for each new release so that I can immerse myself into the next adventure of these amazing characters!
I just auto pulled this from Audible because I love this series and just realized I didn’t listen to the book before it. does it speak to the authors writing that I never once realized I missed the previous book ... I don’t know ... but why would Audible have this book before it gets the previous one .... my OCD doesn’t like this at ALL
Could not stop reading this installment as the different plots thicken! I love how all the characters interact with each other and even Kian is showing his more understanding side. For once I'm happy I've falling behind as this one ends in one heck of a cliff hanger but I don't have to wait!!
There have been so many books in this series and it still gets better and better. I wait eagerly for each new book to come out. This is probably one of the best series in the genre. I cant praise it highly enough I absolutely am addicted!
I have read this series from the beginning. I am 😞 this one was fluff with very little meat. Eleanor is a bad seed and they may know where Jin is...the end??? I'll probably pre order the next one. It's and addiction.
I am in love with this series. I have read every single book! I love that there are so many clan members on this mission. I love all of the characters. I am so excited to find out what happens next! You are AMAZING I.T. Lucas
This book was way too slow, nothing of importance happens until the last chapters and even then its dragging. I skimmed a lot, because it was repetitive and full of filler content. Just gets more and more ridicoulus, I am disappointed. Not sure if I will continue reading the series.
Mey is totally different from any other dormant found before. Yamanu is equally unique in his abilities. Those factors make them perfect for each other. Until the next one...
...a story longer than Silly Putty!! Google it. For a 3 book series, set the main concept, toss in a few sides, sprinkle heavily with redundant sex scenes, repeat. But, even knowing her formula, I can still get hooked into her storytelling.
Fascinating how so many details are put into the book to make such a captivating storyline and isn’t confusing at the same time. Love seeing how Mey and Jin’s story plays out and the last vision Sissy had has me very excited for the next reads as well !
Overall Mey ruined this couple for me as I found her so childish in some of her actions it really put me off seeing their romance. Overall still love this series and will continue with the books but this is one chapter I doubt I would read again.
I have read the series from Book One (Dark Stranger) through book 46! This is the best paranormal romance series I have ever read. Even better than the Shade series by B. Forrest! I read them all since the beginning of the summer till Oct 27 2021
I have never spent this much money in books or a series. But I am hooked line and sinker for this one. It is so good on so many levels just pick one. I am invested now...haaaheee
Dark Queens Army (Children Of The Gods Book 34) by I T Lucas. Mey transitions but it’s different than the others. The Clan find out where Jin is and make plans to rescue her.
And the saga continues. Things continue to get interesting. I love how the bring in the other characters. The author has done such a great job with developing the characters. I love them all and and I am so invested in the story
