Catch up with Kirkby residents Scott and Davis as they navigate through the ups and downs of fatherhood, relationships, and juggling... balls.
In two years, it's clear love can last, just as it can grow.
Davis's business remains successful, Scott's clinic is going strong, and Libby is happy and content.
But that doesn't mean real life is always perfect, nor does it mean fatherhood isn't as exhausting as it is wonderful.
Needing a break from their daily routines, Davis and Scott head away for a weekend of uninhibited fun. With lots of laughter and dancing, Davis has never seen Scott so relaxed and comfortable in public.
And he's not quite sure how to handle that.
Worried that life in Kirkby is holding Scott back, Davis nearly makes the biggest mistake of his life.
But Scott has other ideas. He doesn't need saving. What he needs is his man to step up and fight for their family and their future.
And he has just the plan to do it.

Loved being back in Kirkby, and being so engrossed in the happiness between, Carter and Tanner, Ted and Jason (the Bar owners), and Davis and Scott, (not forgetting Libby and Rex), plus Jenna and Mick, (Scott’s sister). Mustn’t forget Mad Marcy and Jack, Carter’s lovely parents.
Davis and Scott managed to get a night away in the city following an invite from Jasper, the Teacher, who worked in Davis’s Coffee Shop. A great night was had by all, especially Scott, who hadn’t been to a Gay Club before. He’d never felt such freedom to be himself and enjoy all the PDA without worrying who was watching. Davis was delighted to see this new side of Scott. Plus they made a new friend in Ian, a young male nurse, who is nervous being in a Gay Club too.
However, a slight blip of misunderstanding about that night arose between Scott and Davis and they went a couple of days without touching or speaking much.
Amazingly, it was Libby who managed to crack the ice, which more than opened up the communications channel again.
That little glitch had all this new found extended family gathering in Davis and Scott’s back yard, on a freezing Thanksgiving Day at a BBQ!!!
Surprise all around when Jasper arrived with a friend in tow, Ian. Davis and Scott hadn’t known that these two had stayed in touch after the visit to the Club.
Guess what, Mad Marcy zoomed in with all the questions that only Marcy would ask.
Happy to see Jasper get the chance to tell us his story too. I’m glad to stay in Kirkby a bit longer and enjoy all these happy people cocooned in their love.
The continuation of the Davis and Scott story. Cute Libby and other characters updates. Love this series and can’t wait for Jaspers story! Marcy is awesome too.
We continue to follow Scott and Davis, two years on in their relationship and they are certainly a force to be reckoned with. But life is not always perfect. They have to juggle the little time they can grab for their selves against Parenting and running a coffee shop and a Vets surgery. Whilst away for a few nights letting their hair down and enjoying the freedom, they have a perfect time. But Davis sees another side of Scott as he dances on the dancefloor of a gay club, and Davis can not help but wonder if he is holding Scott back. Davis makes a mess of telling Scott of his fears and the misunderstanding certainly puts some big darn rocks in their path. This book really builds on the previous two books. I love the way the author has brought all the important people in the four main characters lives together to become one massive crazy and a little eccentric family. We see Scott finally at peace with himself, even Tanner has finally let his guard down and welcomes Scott into the fold, with one last warning of not hurting Davis. I love this series so far, the characters are relatable, with some fun and crazy minor characters (Carters Mother is so out there, that I warn you not to drink whilst reading this book, as you are likely to spray coffee everywhere) What I really like is there is not a massive dark moment, the stories are mostly light but real and about everyday life. The two Announcements at the end round off Scotts and Davis’s story nicely.
A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:
Rating: 4 stars out of 5
Truthfully a little gap between I’ve Got You and this story would have been good especially since it takes place a couple years later but that’s not what I did, so it’s just a heads up for anyone else. I did like seeing all these guys when they have established themselves a little more and are more comfortable in their lives together.
I loved seeing Scott have the chance to let go and not worry about what others were thinking for the first time in his life but was kinds thrown when Davis started to have doubts because of that. It’s not like Davis gets the opportunity to let go like that either. Seeing both Davis and Scott’s points of view helped to see the doubts and worries they had, even if they didn’t make sense to me. But once they truly talk it out I was so glad to see them solidify their life together.
The cover art by Booksmith Design is nice and I like that it’s similar in style to the previous books.
I love this little story, because there’s so much truth in it. You get settled into your life and things seem so happy, until one little getaway and something happens that makes you question everything. Scott and Davis have been so happy with each other and raising little Libby. But both need a break and after a suggestion to get away for the weekend, they decide to go. Everything seemed so great. Scott finally felt free to be himself. It was a great weekend until one homophobic woman seemed to bring everything screeching to a halt. Davis was questioning if where they were was enough for Scott, seeing as the town had bad memories for him. And was wondering if he was holding Scott back. And Scott, upon hearing this, is now questioning if he’s truly loved and where he belongs. So once again, communication is in order, and hopefully before some more damage is done. I hate homophobic bigots. With such a passion. And it broke my heart in this story, when everything seemed to be taking a bigger and better turn, that one comment could almost ruin everything. And the sad part is, without a strong foundation and communication, that’s all it often takes. One little harsh comment. One comment that can make or break so many things. I’m glad that Scott and Davis knew they had to talk about this. And even with it being tough, I’m glad they kind of gave each other a little space. To a point. That was almost just as disastrous. But with any relationship, it takes work, patience and a lot of communication to keep things going. And they knew this and because of it, it helped things tremendously. Words are so powerful. They really do have the power to make or break things. And it’s so unfair at times. People just want to live their lives in peace and happiness. Well most people. And it shouldn’t matter on how they want to live it. Unless it causes harm to others, but you know what I mean. Be careful of your words. And if you have words spoken to you, don’t let them change the course of your life and destiny, unless it’s time for a change. But make sure that is because of something you want to better your life, not because someone is a butt.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
It was lovely to be back spending time with Scott and Davis. They are now living together and raising Davis' daughter Libby. She is very cute and perhaps a bit too over the top at times for someone so young. Still, I found spending time with this family enjoyable and relaxing.
Scott and Davis decides to go to the city for the night and hit a up a gay club. I liked seeing them get some time away on their own to just be a couple and enjoy each other. As a parent I know how good it is to get a night away like that so I could totally relate.
There is just a little bit of angst in this story but it is all worked out pretty quickly. Nobody's life is perfect but generally speaking, Become Us is an easy to read story full of love and joy of a regular couple living their lives and I really enjoyed it.

This is a short afternoon read. We get to see Scott and Davis two years later. They are doing great until one night out has Davis questioning things. You'll have to read the book to see what happens. This is a low angst book. I love seeing more of Libby too! I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
This is the third book in the series. The first two could be read as standalones but you must read book two before you read this one. This book takes place two years after the second one ends. Scott and Davis are still going strong and Libby is as wonderful as ever. Just like any other parents they need a weekend away. When Davis sees how free Scott is at the club, they go to he begins to wonder if he is holding Scott back. Davis wonders if maybe he should let Scott go. Scott wonders if maybe Davis isn’t happy with him anymore. Scott decides to show Davis just how committed he is to him and Libby. I loved this book so much and the series. I hope to read more about these characters in the future. Congrats on another fantastic book Becca.
This was a great addition to Davis and Scott’s story. It was like a bonus epilogue for Scott and Davis fans. And absolute perfection.
It took me a while to read this because for some reason I thought I’d already finished it, but came across it part read in my kindle and realised I hadn’t read the last couple of chapters.
A cute little novella about Davis, Scott and baby Libby.
I love getting a look into Scott’s life a few years later. Because I initially hated him so much and then fell in love with him and wanted him to have everything he never thought he deserved, it was nice to get a glimpse into his ongoing happily ever after.
So, in this one, Scott and Davis are well established and have a good routine going with both of their jobs and raising Davis’s daughter Libby, together. She’s three now and as fun as she is exhausting, which any parent can tell you is true, and while juggling all their day-to-day’s, Davis gets asked to join a younger employee/friend on a night out to a gay club in a neighboring city with Scott. It would be nice to get Scott away from the small town and let him experience a gay club and all its glory.
If you remember from either of the other two books in this series, you should remember how hard it was for Scott to come to accept his sexuality and to live openly and truth be told, he still has some reservations and it’s not as easy as it is with some, but he’s happy and content and after a week with a sick and fussy Libby, both men jump at the chance for a night away.
Letting their hair down, so to speak, the guys have a fun night and meet a new younger friend (who I hoooope is coming up next). The guys are happy that they got a night to recharge and have fun but it’s ruined by some old hag in a diner and it has Davis wondering if life in a small town is what Scott needs. When he questions him, it comes out wrong and it has both men on edge and thinking the worst.
With any relationship though, there are bumps in the road and times that are tougher than others… this is just a small blip and a misunderstanding and because they’re grown-ups who communicate and respect each other enough to work things out, of course, it does and in the sweetest way.
I love a hot dad story and it’s made even better when it turns into two hot dads. I love Scott’s relationship with Libby and the way she just knows him as her other daddy. It was very cute and I cannot wait to read more about all of them and any new addition (Jasper and Ian) that may be next.
I loved the first two books in this series so I was very keen to read more about the guys from Kirkby. This story didn’t disappoint, and I enjoyed being able to catch up with not only Scott and Davis, but characters from previous books too.
I loved meeting up with Davis and Scott further on in their relationship, and seeing how they’d settled into not only living together, but life with a toddler. I thought the author did a great job in capturing life with a small child. It felt very realistic and reminded me of my own experiences raising children. I also liked how it wasn’t just Davis’ relationship with Scott that had evolved, but Libby’s too, and how they are now a family
The supporting cast are great, and I particularly enjoyed seeing Carter through Scott’s eyes, as they’re grown into good friends. I enjoyed seeing Scott in his job as a vet, and how far he’s come not only in his relationship with Davis, and accepting who he is, but the difference that has made in his work friendships, and his business. I like Jasper and am very pleased he’s getting his own book. Loved seeing Carter’s mother again. She’s a hoot.
I thought the scene that gets Davis wondering if being in Kirkby was holding Scott back, and how it eventually plays out not only was a reminder that of the not so nice people in the world, but also have far Scott has come since we first met him in Carter and Tanner’s story. I thought both of their initial reactions felt real, and how they tried to deal with it did too. Go Carter!
I loved the ending. It made me happy, and I’m very happy we’ve not seen the last of these characters as I’m enjoying their stories. Reading about them is like catching up with friends.
I’d recommend this story to readers who enjoy sweet contemporary romance with characters settling not only into a relationship, but also being a family.
This sweet extended epilogue/novella was full of heart and humor, and I enjoyed it more than I did book 2 in the series that this extended. Baby Libby was now three years old, and she was cute and stole all her scenes as she called Scott daddy and talked about wearing a pretty dress to the wedding.
This story had extremely little angst and lots of feel good moments with all of the characters in the series, and I was glad to see that eventually there will be another book for Jasper’s story.
This was adorable. Told in both Scott and Davis’s pov and it was surprisingly Scott’s view I enjoyed the most. I think because we see how far he has grown and how happy he is. YOu can see that he truly is at peace and loves his life. He is absolutely in love with Davis and couldn’t imagine his life without him or Davis’s daughter in his world. Scott is also more open than Davis with things. He is still learning how to cope with feelings and being free to be himself but he has grown so much in that area you just have to smile.
Davis, still love him, but he is a wee bit more reserved on some things. There is a part where I wanted to smack him upside the head. His intentions were good and came from the heart but the execution was flubbed up big time and it was hard to see these two who love each other like the sun and moon sets on the other having such miscommunication and stuffing it like they were. All because Davis couldnt really say his thoughts well. Again came from the heart but didn’t come out right.
These two have created a loving family. A home filled with warmth, love and safety. They are partners and equals and you see this in their day to day activities and how they are with Davis’s little one. The romance they have is sweet and sexy and that ending sleighed me. So beautiful.
A great sweet and wonderful story of two men who are so in love it’s adorable navigating to the next step and figuring things out along the way. It warms the heart and leaves you all warm and fuzzy in the end.
The characters from the previous book get the fairy tale happy ending that the reader would hold for. . This is definitely a book. Worth reading if you read the one before it. .
4.5 Stars I'm so glad we got this novella. Catching up with Davis, Scott, and Libby made me very happy. I loved seeing how those two are doing. With Scott's bumpy start it does a heart good to see him be true to himself. Libby is so adorable and she steals the show when she is in the scenes. She melts your heart especially when she's with Scott and Davis. Scott and Davis deal with every day in this one, but you also see how true their love is. If you're a fan of this series than this novella will delight you. I've got You must be read first to really enjoy this one. I also enjoyed the set up for the nest book in the series. I really can't wait to see what in store for the next couple.
Davies and Scott continue their relationship which is growing from strength to strength.
Libby . How happy is she with two daddies...
Sometimes you have reservations also sometimes your lover doesn’t quite understand your feelings or your words . But with talking and understanding each other life grows with wonderful things happening.. This book is the icing on the cake .
Scott, Davis and Libby are living a good life and this is us seeing how they are doing but Davis is worried that the town they are living in is holding Scott back and starts to make a mistake that could cost him his happiness but thank goodness Scott sees this and takes things into his own hands!!
You may remember Scott Anderson (aka Dr. Dickwad) and Davis Jackson from I’ve Got You, book 2 in the True-Blue series? Becoming Us, by Becca Seymour is the continuation of their story and cannot be read as a standalone. Life for Scott and Davis continues to grow, now that Scott has come to terms with himself, his sexuality and what he seeks from life.
Scott, the once miserably closeted homophobic prick, now embraces his sexuality and the transformation is spectacular. His personal and professional lives are soaring to new heights. However, his past actions still haunt him. But with Davis by his side, he accepts he must move forward, forgiving himself for the darkness of his past.
Davis can’t imagine his and Libby’s lives without Scott by their side. Their routine is tiring, yet fulfilling. But, that’s life with a three-year-old in the mix. He adores the relationship Scott and Libby share, so much that his wheels have been turning for a more permanent future. When Libby calls Scott “Daddy Scott” his heart melts and for Davis the future unfolds. But he can’t help wondering if he and Libby are holding Scott back, and a vicious verbal homophobic attack solidifies his concern.
‘Becoming Us’ is a relatively short read that catches us up on how life is progressing for Scott and Davis while raising Miss. Libby. It was a pleasure to reconnect with the residents of Kirkby.
A testament to how Scott and Davis have grown comes on the heels a misunderstanding relating to the homophobic attack they endure. Davis tries to convey his concern and it comes out completely wrong. Feelings are hurt as the wreckage settles between them. Acting all grown-up-like, Scott and Davis open the lines of communication and resolve the matter once and for all.
I must admit, I initially despised Scott in I’ve Got You. The transformation he undergoes fills me with happiness. Seeing the man Scott has become from his Dr. Dickwad days, to the man he is today, I am over the moon thrilled for the guy. No, he isn’t perfect and still holds onto some of his fears but, he is slowly forgiving himself and turning into the hidden gem he is.
Becoming Us is a relatively short read that catches us up on how life is progressing for Scott and Davis while raising Miss. Libby. It was a pleasure to reconnect with the residents of Kirkby, especially Carter and Jasper. I love the change in their friendship with Scott and Davis. Gone is the distrust of Scott and in its place is a solid and beneficial alliance.
Who’s gonna say no to more time with beloved characters? Not me. The more, the merrier.
This book was short, but oh so sweet. Scott, Davis, and Libby have really settled in together, becoming a little family. Scott is so good with Libby. I don’t think Davis is complaining, either. I feel like they balance each other out so well.
After a short trip away from the day to day grind, and a brief encounter with a homophobic stranger, Davis gets a silly idea in his head. I wanted to jump into the book and hug him. After he botched the conversation with Scott, I wanted to smack him just a little bit. It leads to them examining their relationship, and what they wanted out of life.
This book can not be read as a stand-alone, because it’s a follow up to book two. I strongly encourage you to at least read book two first.

From closet to a Out & proud family of three! Romance, stress & laughter as this family becomes "us"!
Dr. Score is a local Vet dating the local bakery & coffee shop owner Davis! Davis a single Dad & definitely stands up for himself and others. Dr. Scott started out on the wrong side and had to claw his way up & out. The book 1 & 2 before this book really should be read together to really deeply relate to Scott. The other book is not centered on Scott but it shows his demons & his strength to survive! His journey worth the read. Davies & his brother Tanner raising a little girl together is the ultimate friends/family. The chance for both Tanner n Davies to be happy and find the one he - terrific. M/M romance V1S2 A great book for con by out. Communication & trust the key and fighting for the ones you love! More book reviews please check out @my2centsbooklover! Thanks
This is a heartwarming continuation of Scott and Davis's story in Kirkby. Two years later, their love has deepened, their businesses are thriving, and their child, Libby, is happy. However, they still face the everyday challenges of parenthood. Seeking a break, a weekend getaway reveals a new, relaxed side of Scott in public, which unexpectedly unsettles Davis. Davis worries that their life in Kirkby is limiting Scott and almost jeopardizes their relationship. But Scott knows what he wants and needs Davis to fight for their family and future, and he has a plan to make it happen.
This was a sweet novella which gave us the opportunity to catchup with Scott and Davis. It was great to see them both happy and fulfilled even if Scott had to take some action to reassure Davis. Libby was still a sweetheart. Easy to feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
This book is set 2 yrs later in the life of Davis and Scott. Little Libby is now 3 yrs old. It’s sweet and adorable and yes you will see Marcy in here. She is a hoot. Love her character so much. All relationships come with a little bit of drama. So why not Davis and Scott’s. On their way home from their night in the city Davis starts to second guess whether or not Scott is really happy. Scott is mad at Davis for even thinking that. But Carter is there to be the voice of reason. And while Davis and Scott talk things out, two surprises happen. The whole story is written with love. You can feel how Becca Seymour puts her heart into this book and this series. It’s a 5 star ⭐️ review for me. Onward to the next book 💜❤️
A really sweet follow up to Davis and Scott's story! It is two years later and the couple are very settled with their love but when fears pop up they have to work through it and see if what they have is still what they want. It was great because it was a reminder that happily ever after takes work and constant checking in. Deciding you want something different doesn't mean you don't want your relationship, maybe just some changes, but also sometimes you don't want something different and just need to talk about those fears. A really sweet follow up that shows where these great characters are going and also brings in new characters for the future!
This short novella propels Scott and Davis into matrimony. Feeling that he is holding Scott back, Davis sinks into a funk that questions his role in keeping Scott in town. While Scott celebrates Libby's new name for him, he cherishes the family they have created and desires more time with them.
In this quirky place, there are some good friends who make up a found family, collectively offering support and creating a genuine support system.
This is a beautiful read that must be preceded by the other two books in the series. It's a concise read lasting about an hour and a half.
Becca Seymour pours us back into the lives of Davis, Scott, Libby, and the rest of the family and friends in Kirkby. Although it's a short, Seymour does a beautiful job catching us up, and setting the future tone of books to come. Davis and Scott have come a long way in two years and the everyday events of life keep the characters real and stories relevant and believable. Can't wait to see what's next in this beautiful series.
I didn’t like this story quite as much as the first two books, but I still liked it. I enjoyed seeing Carter, Davis & Libby a couple years later. I kind of expected them to be “further” along in their relationship, but it was fine. The story was shorter & less steamy than previous ones, too, but it was still enjoyable.
And man! Carters parents have GOT to move to this town! His mom is priceless 🤣
Just sat down and read this in an hour! Loved every bit! It was just the perfect addition to Scott and Davis’ story! And I got a good laugh from Carters Momma again, I swear she’s my mom with that crazy way of asking personal questions! Loved every minute and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
Veterinarian Scott is learning to accept himself in this new life he's building with Davis and his daughter Libby and making up for the horrible person he was before he came out. But Davis wonders if he's holding him back in their small town that has its share of small minds. Can they build a future together there?
David and Scott. Love these two and how this is an on going story about them and bringing in Tanner and Carter with some new characters. Enjoyed the quick read.
