Welcome to Spellbound, where paranormal is the new normal.
When Emma's return to work after maternity leave coincides with another murder mystery, she's right back to burning the enchanted candle at both ends. Throw in ever-changing family dynamics, the potential loss of a beloved friend, and a hybrid baby with unpredictable talents, and you've got one harried new mother on a magical mission.
Will Emma manage to catch the killer this time or will the undying be her undoing?

Read in one sitting. I love thesis genre of books and this series is no exception. It’s got loveable characters , a murder that you can actually figure out if you pay attention and not one grammatical error to be found. A definite read in these times!
It's Emma's first day back at work after her maternity leave. She has to deal with Josie who doesn't want to give up running the office and tries to take over. She also has to deal with trying to develop a father- daughter relationship with her long lost biological father. On top of that a dead of body of a major character is discovered in the woods. How did this person die and who is responsible? How will Emma juggle her responsibilities? Diana is also showing glimpses of her powers too which adds to everything is dealing with. Emma also has to deal with the possibility of Agnes leaving with her daughter. Emma has her hands full but something has to give. I enjoyed reading this book and learning about Emma and her new responsibilities. Fab read and looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This novel offers a compelling exploration of a dystopian society where individuality is suppressed and conformity is enforced. Through the eyes of the central character, readers are drawn into a world where freedom of thought and expression are subjugated to an extreme degree. The narrative skillfully weaves together themes of identity, rebellion, and the consequences of blind obedience. The prose is vivid and thought-provoking, making the reader reflect on the fragility of human rights and the power of resistance. The characters' development and interactions add depth to the story, creating a suspenseful and engaging narrative that leaves a lasting impression on the reader's mind. Overall, this book is a thought-provoking and cautionary tale about the dangers of sacrificing individuality for the sake of societal control.
Emma returns to work where there's a vandalism case and Josie turning out to be a problem. Two of the three Grey sisters return and, as usual, there's a dead body found in the woods.
What is not quite usual is that the body is dressed in a clown outfit.
There's a new case for her, one of trespassing which, if the guy is found guilty, could send him to prison. Diana, meanwhile, is showing development of her powers as she manages to levitate some wooden blocks.
(This can also be a concern, though, because it raises the question of just how powerful will Diana turn out to be and will Emma be able to keep her on the right path?)
Josie causes trouble during a trial. There's also a problem involving Agnes. Calix continues his problematic behavior.
Another good book in the series with, in my opinion, Calix and Diana being the two major concerns for Emma.
Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. An extraordinarily awesome cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. In a small town that was hidden away from the human world for many decades was released from the Kurz and now is open again to the rest of the supernatural world. Follow along with our eclectic cast of characters as they solve murders mysteries and other issues in their town. Do you have which is vampires shifters of all sorts and trolls and elves and fairies and demigods and sorcerers and sorceress and many other supernatural beings live here. They even have an old folks home for nursing the elderly supernatural. Extraordinarily entertaining check it out
.. Lorenzo Mancini is found dead wearing a clown suit, as far from his usual immaculate style as its possible to be. Diana can see his ghostly form as can Calix but the demigod manages, as most non pack members do, to anger the ghost.
It seems that Alex's relationship with Darcy was under intense scrutiny and pressure was being put upon him to pass over the harpy and select a mate from the fold. But Alex wasn't the heir apparent for nothing and he'd finally managed to convince Lorenzo to back off and let him choose for himself.
As Emma investigates, after Astrid loses her voice, it becomes clear that there's a lot more going on than anyone could have imagined. Can Emma solve the case and will Alex and Darcy earn the respect of the pack?
New parents Emma and Daniel are back with baby Diana in tow. This book is heavy on new motherhood, but light on magic and mystery. Emma's friends barely make cameo appearances, which is disappointing. It's good to have Dr. Hall bringing thoughtful insights mixed with snark and cocktails, and Calix is a delightful surprise. I look forward to Emma finding her balance and bringing Calix closer while pushing Josie out (or at least firmly delivering a much-needed setdown!). The teaser regarding burgeoning power is welcome, and here's hoping a new alliance makes for a stronger Spellbound.
Brittany is absolutely fabulous her sense humour is absolutely brilliant I love her one liners I lol every time as she's so childlike at times but hits nail on head days what ever comes into her head it's adorable Please be getting rid of Josie at some point as she's evil and is after everything Emma has especially her job better still have her turned to stone Can Emma's farther stop calling her by various pet names as it's annoying big time I want Emma to be more confident in her magic and embrace her true self a little more please
Spellbound's seventh book like the first six is very well written with vibrant, colorful and quirky characters that will draw you into their complicated ,caring and magical world full of mystery, mayhem and intrigue that entices you further while the exciting ,twisted and intriguing plot entrances you with its charm not letting you go having you turning page after page until you've reached the unexpected and climatic conclusion. Acquire ' Ghoul's Paradise " today so you yourself can enjoy it as much as I have. Kat
If you're looking for an author with solid writing with every single book then Annabel Chase is one you'll love. I like that ever book has a unique plot with likeable characters. She even sneaks in some real world social issues. It's nice seeing all the characters grow but especially Emma as a mother. Chase is one of my favorite authors in this genre and I've loved all her series.
Ghouls Paradise is Book 7 in the Spellbound Ever After Paranormal Cozy Series and this series keep getting better and better! I loved reading about how Emma is adapting to being a mom. A murder of a main characters was a nice twist, what a murder mystery that was! A well written story with characters that are well developed . A great story. Annabel Chase is my go to author, she never disappoints with her stories and engaging dialogue and characters.
Emma is back, and trying to run her place of business. Only the the wereweasel, that has been helping, is now trying to take over completely. Her Vampire mental doctor is mixing up cocktails. Sheriff Astrid can't talk, her dad Calix is one straw too many on Emma, the new mom's back. There is a were animal to defend, a murder to solve, and baby pounds to lose. Such is life in Spellbound. Read and enjoy!
I love the variety of characters in this series. Emma is trying to jungle marriage, motherhood, a reunion with the demi-god father, returning to work and losing Agnes to her daughter’s need to get out of town. This is almost too much. But our heroine will go the distance to do all she can.
Another wonderful story in the Spellbound universe! I absolutely adore Emma and her family. Thankfully, Ms. Chase has incorporated Emma's daughter without sacrificing any of the wonderful things we have come to expect. An intriguing mystery, interesting characters and exceptional writing combine for an amazing story.
This series has been going on for a while but it’s so good and it’s amazing how it’s still so entertaining. That’s how talented this author is! Emma is once again caught up in misters, he long others, defending delinquents and finally getting a little firm and even mean to stand her ground! I think the interactions with Josie were my favorite!
I love all of Annabel Chases books, but this is my favorite series. I always look forward to reading any new books she writes. Good mysteries, endearing characters, magical, fantasy characters, light hearted but not embarrassingly so. Enjoy reading all of Chase's series
Emma has her hands full with the wererat Josie...even though Emma is off maternity leave Josie still wants Emma's job. Emma finds herself trying desperately to let Josie know that she is back but Josie keeps on barging in. Not to mention that there is another dead body and it's someone that is close to Emma in a round about way Does Emma find the killer?
I had fun reading this. The victim was unexpected but had an inkling of the killer. Would enjoy more of Emma's father, but that seems to be getting put on the back burner for now. Wished also that we could have seen more of the Gray sisters but maybe next time. Definitely looking forward to seeing more powers from the baby.
This book hit me right in the feels! Emma not only has her husband and her new baby but her father in her life. She solves murders like a boss and in the end realizes she has definitely made a family of her own with her friends and actual family ❤
A nice visit back, so many more story lines to explore. I am looking forward to the next book and learning more about everyone's backstory. The mystery seemed rushed, but most of the loose ends were tied up
I really like this book and the way that you are developing the characters and story line of each of them and the humanity of the characters and their experiences and friendships and relationships suchh a good book and series.
Although the storyline was riveting, I noticed a lot of hurt feelings; possibly because I am more invested in the characters. Sad to see only a few more installments in the series.
