Bookish problem #1: Real men never live up to the fictional ones . . .
Brooklyn
Surrounded by books is the only place I’ve ever felt like I belonged. From grade school to college, it’s where I found myself. Enjoyed myself. Hid myself. Unfortunately, my favorite thing also made my life hell. I remember the constant teasing like it was yesterday.
But now, I’m a grown woman. I’m a BookNerd and I’m damn proud. Between the pages of great read will always be home to me—and I’m done defending myself for it. When my perfect, popular sister, Peyton, begs me to attend her latest masquerade charity ball, I know I can’t decline. Besides, it’ll be fun for one night to pretend I’m someone else without all my usual baggage.
I’m actually having a decent time—until I see them. The two guys who most recently tormented me in college, and boy, have they changed. They’re still unbelievably good-looking. But now, there was something else there. Seduction. Yearning. Dominance—and it was all aimed at me.
It’s the perfect chance for revenge.
I’ll lure them in, seduce them, and leave them high and dry with a heavy set of blue balls. Instead, one night spirals into a dozen more—and suddenly revenge is the last thing on my mind—because the things they are doing to my body are better than any fantasy I could conjure up . . .
The Billionaires and The BookNerd is a standalone, thigh-clenching, MFM Billionaire Menage Romance from your new favorite author Harper West. If Savage billionaires filled with wild desire and big . . . egos . . . sounds like a good time, this book is for you! Guaranteed HEA & No Cheating.
Let me begin by saying I do not enjoy giving bad reviews and wanted to enjoy this book. However, someone needs to give this author a thesaurus (i.e. inform her that her heroine is not a basset hound so why is she "baying" during sex every time), a better editor, and a cheese platter to go with all of the whining in this book (I don't know who was whinier, the heroine or the supposed heroes).
The premise was interesting but the lack of any character development was beyond annoying. It started off well but went downhill quickly. I found no redeeming qualities in any of the characters. I usually enjoy have chapters from each characters POV but I became aggravated with the authors constant need to describe over again the action from the previous chapter from a different POV.
Honestly, until the end...there was no indication that these characters had feelings for each other. It was a fuck fest and then boom suddenly everyone is in love? Lol I can't....
DNF @ 49% I thought this was going to be a Cinderella kind of book but it turned out that the female protagonist doesn't make sense. The set up is that the female protagonist is a shy and hidden beauty, essentially, but the way she presents herself to her two college bullies makes her seem like a confident woman. Sure, they met at a masquerade ball type setting but she is still this bold with them later on in public. The two men are meh. Also, the whole premise is that they are interviewing her because they want to get people to go to libraries? It all felt very weak.

The Billionaires and the Book Nerd A MFM Billionaire Menage Romance By: Harper West Narrated by: Aaron Shedlock, Sierra Kline
Who knew revenge could be so hot and steamy! I enjoyed this book, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the lead characters, Brooklyn, a librarian and a real life book nerd. While attending a masquerade party with her sister, who wants her to venture out more, she meets up with two men from her past, Cooper and Jack, they are the last two people she ever wanted to see. They teased her relentlessly in college, made her life a living hell. But they do not recognize her so she takes advantage of the situation and comes up with a plan, to get her revenge. A simple plan of revenge turns into more, when the two pursue her. Jack and Cooper are partners in business and they also like to share women, they both like Brooklyn and find her to be a challenge. Brooklyn decides to further her act of revenge, all goes according to plan but she starts to realize they are not the same people they used to be. This is a fast paced story, it is nicely plotted with plenty of drama, some angst, some heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Harper West thank you for this great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Aaron Shedlock and Sierra Kline are perfectly casted to bring this story and it’s characters to life. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, Sierra Kline’s Brooklyn was perfection, she grasped her persona to the tee, capturing her strength and determination to succeed in her goal. Aaron Shedlock perfected the roles of both Jack and Cooper too. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧
What do you do when the two men who made fun of you in college are now hitting on you and don't even realize who you are? You play a game. Brooklyn takes her opportunity to torment the two who tormented her down a slippery slope. She didn't expect her own feelings to come into play. Now Jack, Cooper and Brooklyn are all in as the game continues. That is until doubt begins to enter in. Comments made, suspicions high, will these three be able to sort through it all? This is a hot, steamy listen! I love Brooklyn's confidence in herself and her ability to keep the boys interested. I also love her naivete. She is an interesting character, between her book nerdiness and her sensuality. Cooper and Jack are just fun. They are both seductive, and their intuitiveness with each other makes the story flow. I love the slight power struggle they have as well, keeping the relationship real. It's a great escape for an afternoon.
The narration of this made the listen for me. Sierra Kline always brings out the best in her characters, and I love how she is always in tune with them. As Brooklyn, she is able to keep her boldness along with her innocence and it makes Brooklyn gives Brooklyn depth. Aaron Shedlock as Jack and Cooper add the WOW factor in. He is amazing with these two, as they dual out the alpha role. He keeps these two alluring. I love these two as a narrating team.
Menage is tricky. It either comes across as tacky porn or an interesting larger family at the end. This definitely came across as the interesting larger family with some hot intimacy scenes. More foreplay till the feelings developed into something deeper. Overall quality of writing was good. The story had interesting characters. Had a few glitches in proofreading, but no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending.
This book was absolutely great. The steamy scenes were hot. The characters personalities shined through and the bond they shared was strong. The ending was so sweet and heartwarming.
This was an okay read for me. I like how Cooper stood in Brooklyn's way rather than letting her pass so he and Jack could engage her in conversation. I GOT SO TIRED OF READING BAY AND BAYED IN LIKE EVERY INTERACTION THAT THEY HAD.
A young woman gets a offer to write a story for a men's magazine that happens to be owned by two young men who humiliated her when she was young girl! This time it's on her own terms! The young men should watch out!
College was not a great time for Brooklyn, but when her biggest tormentors don’t recognize her and hit on her, Brooklyn decides to play a game with them as well.
Jack and Cooper own a successful magazine in Phoenix and after stumbling across Brooklyn again, decide they want to enjoy her a bit more as well as write an article on why people should read more and visit the local library.
But they’re all suspicious that the other has motives that aren’t honest. But when they both discover things at the same time, who’s hearts will be left broken.
Brooklyn, Jack, and Cooper get their HEA in this stand-alone book.
