Caroline Rumsbury once thought of love as a wondrous thing; that is until her employer, Lord William Lymington, makes unwanted advances. When she refuses him, she finds herself thrown from his estate without references or a place to call home.
William Lymington never understood the meaning of love, and because of his foolishness, drove away the young maid, Caroline, an act he has always regretted. Now, however, a false accusation has ruined his name and he is thrown into prison where his life is in constant danger.
Five years later and working for a doctor in London, Caroline is sent to a prison to attend to a man badly beaten, whom she learns is none other than William, the man who destroyed her life.
In an attempt to right his wrongs and to clear his name, William asks for Caroline’s help. Reluctantly, the woman agrees and the former employer and maid embark on a journey of both past and present in an attempt to heal their wounded hearts.
Will Caroline be able to accept that William is no longer the rake he once was and thus open her heart to love she once thought true? And will William be able to not only find the person responsible for sending him to prison, but also win over the heart of the woman with whom he had been in love since the first moment he saw her?
What a wonderfully written Regency Era murder mystery💀 and romance💞! This is one of the best romances💕 of this genre that I have read, and I've read hundreds, this year alone! The story was completely mesmerizing!

I can't say enough about how good this book is, as compared to most Regency Romances! This is a fully thought out and developed, amazing story. Highly Recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Caroline Rumsbury had been a servant at Applefield Estates in Sussex for 6 months. When the Lord and Lady were away at one of their other homes, they usually took their elder son Lord Evan, 22, and left the younger, Lord William, 20, at the Sussex estate. When they were together, they were far too competitive and argued constantly! Now she waited for Lord William Lymington who had asked to speak with her. Oddly, another servant brought in wine and two glasses. When Lord William came in, he poured her a glass and, because of his temper, she could not refuse. He wanted to talk about her cleaning, he said, running his thumb on her jawline. He said he loved that she wanted to please him, and he pulled out a necklace. She tried to refuse it, but he insisted she let him put it on her. When he kissed her, she shoved him away and he told her to leave the estate immediately in the pouring rain, where she would have to live in the streets and fend for herself, risking starvation, illness, and injury.
Circumstances have vastly changed for William over the years as he is now in prison, having lost everything. Caroline is sent to treat his wounds from a prison fight. Now he needs her help. But he was the one who callously threw her into the streets without a second look! Could she forgive him for what he did to her? Would she try to help this man?
This book exposes a sad circumstance that was probably all too common. A servant doing their very best is seen as a quick source of pleasure to the man she works for and is either forced to comply with his wishes or stand up to him, as Caroline did. Will she help him now, though she owes him nothing? Grab your copy and see how their situation plays out.

My thoughts are all over the place on this one. While I liked the story I found it sad on several accounts. First of all I know what Lord William did to our heroine Caroline was very wrong and considering all she had suffered and endured I still feel his punishment went way beyond the crime. William wasn’t a bad person at heart he was young and very foolish, especially where his brother was concerned. It made me sad seeing all he had lost due to his brothers foolish actions. Now there is the one who truly needed redemption his brother Lord Evan. He got off way too easily for me. It also made me mad at myself, how could I have so much sympathy for William knowing all that Caroline suffered and how much worse it could have been just because she rebuffed his advances. Now without all this angst the story would not be the same I just wish Lord William could have been welcomed home by at least one of his parents. In the end I was glad that William and Caroline got their happy ending so I’ll stop here before I give away too much of the story. I recommend Redeeming the Rake.

This book is different from the usual regency story being about a servant girl who is just that and doesn't turn out to someone's long lost relative and really from the upperclass. Caroline is dismissed from her post and thrown into the street for refusing Lord Williams advances. Having no means she lives in the street doing what she must to survive. She eventually meets a kindly Doctor who takes her in and gives her room and board in exchange for he help in his clinic. Years later she attends the local prison to to treat a prisoner who has been badly beaten. It is Lord William who has been imprisoned for murder. Sometime later she comes across him living on the streets after his release. Will she find it in her heart to help him. I loved every minute of this book.

Love everything about this book. I haven't read any of the others in series, started with book 3. Real life; atleast in this time frame era. Wrong-doings, accusations, innocence, communications (better late than never), revenge/pay back, justice, friendship and of course love, although off and on and not sure of what the feeling is. Read n follow Caroline, Lord Evan Lord William, the lovable Dr. Brown, Lord Colborn, Lord Cooper, Andrew, Linda, n Ezra through dismissals, prison, prostitution, a treasure hunt, beatings, fevers, shootings n much more. This story has something for pretty much everyone.
Redemption. How can she help him the man that ruined her life? That is the question Caroline Rumsbury faces. How can William Lymington clear his name and Caroline would she be willing to help him? This sets our two characters on a dangerous mission. This book touches on a horrible situation that many face when power is used to get one’s way and destroy lives when it does not happen. The book was very good! It flowed well and was written in an excellent manner. I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
William’s actions ruined them both. He threw Caroline. a servant, out of his family’s home forcing her to beg and fend for herself on the streets until she mets Dr. Brown and becomes his nurse. William was imprisoned over a woman’s death. He meets a man there who speaks of treasure and when he gets out, William and Caroline embark on a journey in search of it and retribution. This story was dark and depressing at times. Their relationship was turbulent. She hates him, then forgives him, and then he acts like a spoiled child who knows all the answers.
Book three in the Delicate Hearts series a well written story that kept me turning pages, a great storyline with the story flowing smoothly from page to page. Caroline Rumsbury and Lord William Lymington have a past history, she comes to his aid when he needs her, even thiugh he is the cause of everything she has gone through. I enjoyed reading their story there is suspense, drama, danger, evil, women being sold, avillain, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very good book. I enjoyed the characters' resilience in their unfortunate situations. I also appreciated the humorous exchanges between Caroline and William, especially the story of Bloody Molly.
Unfortunately, the far too numerous typos throughout the book did detract from my enjoyment of the wonderful story. I don't know if these errors are to blame on poor editing or a byproduct of the book being revised to electronic printing. Whatever the cause, I will do like reading books by this author.
A fantastic story that will kept reading until the last word... A young maid... a young lord, a rake... A propose that will change all... And after three years, he is in prison and she will help him to reddem his name and find find the culprit... To this aim, they need to forgive and open heir heart... A story for all!

This story is well crafted and well written. It is a little on the dark side, but that does not make it any less worth reading. Although the ugly side of the times is revealed, so is a solid down to earth love story. Your time is well invested reading this book.
