Monica and Emmanuel have strong connection...

Monica and Emmanuel had a connection that went beyond the physical. The had mutual interest. This very quick second chance reconnection was worth the lunchtime that it took to read it.

Ok.

This second book in this author’s Lunch Break Series can be read as a complete standalone. In fact, it seems this series is only linked by the fact that they’re erotic romance shorts that can technically be read on your lunch break as a sort of romantic getaway from life stress.

This second book features tech innovator Monica who has been called upon to attend a major investment opportunity with a date and turns to an escort service only to find out that the escort assigned to her is her ex, Emmanuel, with whom she has an acrimonious break up. But Emmanuel is not who she thinks he is anymore.

This is a really short book without much time to get into any deeper themes. To me, the story didn’t really hold up to scrutiny of you looked at it too deeply and I had many questions. But this is meant to be a breezy, sexy, lunchtime quickie of a read so through that lens, this was perfectly fine.

“If you want to clean up when we get inside, I’ll escort you to the ladies’ room, but I think I covered it” 😳🤭.Those were the exact expressions I had when I read that line In Stephanie Norris’ delicious short story Escort( Lunch Break Series Book 2).

Our main charater Monica, a sexy , smart , African American corporate executive, has a business function she has to attend and needs a date.Feeling daring and in need of some fun, Monica hires a date from a escort service; She gets the surprise of her life to find it’s her long lost love. This was a quick and steamy read about second chance love. The length definitely didn’t take away from this sexy story. I thoroughly enjoyed and I definitely recommend.

I'm giving this 3 stars because I refuse to go lower than that for a black woman indie author. But I hated this lol. The constant use of guffaw reminded me of when kids learn a new word and wear it tf out lol. The whole no sex for five years 🥴 I mean I guess. I don't think I like second chance romance because it's hard for me to believe that after all these years these folk feel no need to get reacquainted on any deeper level than sex. They have sex and then they are together for life 🙄. Like she could have started biting her toe nails in all this time. I mean it's 30 pages but I think instead of having sex and having a contract they could have at least thought about getting to know each other better. This is my second try with this author and the writing just isn't for me.

A reunion...

This is a quick "lunch break" read. This isn't a in depth read, but a fun time filler. Emmanuel and Monica get a second chance and instead of wasting it on what should have been, they decide to live in the now and go forward into partnerships...personal and professional. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

I just love reading Stephanie's work. She effortlessly pens the best stories over and over again. Her lunch break teasers are my favorites. You never know what unexpecting surprise she's going to throw in.

3 Stars means it's a good book and I would recommend.

This is the second book in the Lunch Break series. This is a series of novellas/shorts designed to provide instant reader gratification.

This story follows Monica and Emmanual. It's a second chance romance. Our girl hires an escort for a tech event she's invited to and basically shits herself when the man she broke up with five years ago.

I didn't love this story. Despite it being a quick read, it felt like a slow burn... I mean there was some oral early on, but it wasn't as HOT has I would have liked.

I couldn't help but compare this story to the first in the series (If I Could Stay) which was also a second chance romance and sadly that book was soo emotionally raw it set the bar a bit too high. Since these books do not need to be read in order, I feel like it would have been received better not being read on the heels of the first.

Monica and Emmanual's banter was very tit for tat. Personally, I felt like too many games were played. I liked the plot, I liked both character's personalities, both were direct and said what needed to be said which I liked, but overall, this one just didn't hit for me. With that said, I love the writing style and am excited to see how the rest of the books in this series differ.

I would recommend this for someone looking for a quick and entertaining read.

Emmanuel and Monica were a couple when they were younger and because of not trusting each other, they broke up. Fast forward to five years later and Emmanuel is back and he wants Monica to be his again. Monica was invited to an event and was told to bring a date, so she used this "discreet agency" to select a date. When they came to pick her up, it wasnt who she was expecting. Emmanuel was her unsuspected date and she was leery about going because how she felt about him. Emmanuel had in his mind that he wanted his woman back and was going to do what was necessary to get her, but he had a little secret he didnt let her in on. This short story was just enough to get your juices flowing on what it is to love someone even when they are no longer together and how to get them back. I loved everything about this book and was excited when everything worked out. Come take this quick ride with Emmanuel and Monica, it's so worth it!!!!!

I read the first Lunch Break book and moved on to book 2 without realizing the stories aren't connected. Ever since I read Robin Schone's The Lover I've been wanting to read another male escort book. So I jumped all over this one.

This short was sooooo good.

The heroine of the story, CEO Monica Stratton, needs a date for an important biz event. She's been celibate for years since she broke up with the love of her life. Since Monica doesn't want to attend the event alone she has her assistant book her an escort with a reputable discrete agency. But when she opens the door , who should be standing there to escort her to the event, none other than Emmanual Pratt, the only person "who'd ever owned her heart."

I can't write anything else or I'll give the story away. So I'll stop here and give it five stars.

There was a tiny little detail that I felt could have been explained better but it was minor and didn't detract much from the story.

"Escort" by Stephanie Nicole Norris

My Rationalization:

This was a sweet short 'Lunch Break Series' featuring Monica and Emanuel who at one time been very much in love but something happened that tore them apart. Now, why was that? Will this alpha male be able to handle Monica and convince her to go into partnership with him and a chance at love again? Well to get all of these questions answered and more you will have to pick up this good read to see how this author will bring it all out.

I truly enjoyed this novella, it was gratifying to my romance palate

I truly enjoyed this novella, it was gratifying to my romance palate. I loved how Monica was a boss lady calling the shots for business that is dominated by men. Emmanuel had some explaining to do as he reenters Monica’s life. The FIYAH was certainly in the pages of this book along with some unexpected twist and turns.

Just a great writer!!!

So...I started this journey of books by reading the In The Heart of a Valentine series and because of the truly amazing characters that Stephanie writes about she has skyrocketed to my favorite author. I again must say that I love the stories that she tells, I find myself looking for more and more of her books.

Note: Also loved The Clarks of Northshire bend, another great series to check out.

I’m so greedy...

I love a good story. Be it full length novel, novella or a sample. But when I get to reading a good one, I get so caught up that I forget those details. So I get to the end and I’m like, I. Want. Moreeeee! With all the dramatics. Don’t judge me. This lady tells good stories 🤷🏽‍♀️🙃

This was the second book in the “The Lunch Break Series”.  Monica and Emmanuel were in a relationship in the past.

When Monica needed a date for the evening, she never imagines the man who appeared at her door. Although this was a quick read your find out what went wrong, and you will love how after all this time he love they have for each other is stronger than ever.

Wo! That's what I'm talking about! A MAN who wants you by any means necessary. Lol! Emmanuel owned up to his part in the relationship and is doing everything and I do mean everything to get his one and only true love back. This was definitely the highlight of my lunch break. I definitely need more. Awesome and heart jerking. Loved it . ReneeG 👍

Love lunchtime!

I enjoy reading these lunch time short anytime that I have a hour or less to read. Since reading your work, "Everlasting Desire" (Unparalleled Love series) I have enjoyed your gift. Continue entertaining me. I knew that Emmanuel's character was Turner Armstrong when Monica's character called Emmanuel the proverbial, "stick up his azz".

Creating a career of love

Emmanuel and Monica's romance was short and gratifying. I love how Emmanuel built his career around the thoughts of everything Monica. He used her career to create his own. He also used his intelligence to get her to be his date and eventually agreeing to be his "forever."

I'm enjoying the lunch break series, they are quick gratification.

Escort. This short novella was great. It was captivating and enjoyable. The characters were realistic. I was surprised by the twists that the story took. Monica was blindsided by her old flame. Emmanuel/Turner was determined to win back the love of his life at all costs. And he did. Great lunch break book.

Making Up For Lost Time

Emmanuel and Monica didn’t waste any time getting reacquainted with each other! Even though Monica feigned indifference when they were together in the Limousine! Emmanuel quickly tore all of the walls surrounding her heart down! I’m loving this “Lunch Break” series! Thank you Ms. Norris!! ❤️🔥

This was a lot.

This was a lot in such a short span this man had a whole alias, different company and basically decieved her at every turn. They were together previously but fell apart when she could decide if she could trust him because of his position in the spotlight. This is a super quick read. I liked it well enough.
