Everyone knows when a Sinclair boy loves a Wallace girl people die.
The first time JoJo Wallace smiled, she had my heart. When we kissed, she owned my soul. And when she gave me her everything, I took it…consuming her when I had no right.
At first, we were just kids falling in love. We didn’t know about the generations-old feud between the Wallaces and the Sinclairs. I also couldn’t imagine Jojo’s destruction had been planned by my father when we were babies. To Father, the feud came first. I was simply bred to participate. My love for Jojo became his weapon, and to keep Jojo alive, I became the perfect son.
I never thought Jojo would come back after Father’s death. Never thought she’d smile at me or kiss me again--or that I’d let her. She’s the last woman I should ever touch. Only Jojo’s relentless. She’s no longer a child that can be frightened away. She’s made me dream again…made me feel. But before this goes too far, I need to get her away from this town and the rest of the Sinclairs who would see her dead.
Why? Because she’s a Wallace and I’m a Sinclair. She’s someone I’d kill for, and I’ll hurt her again. It’s what I do. But Jojo Wallace, she’s impossible for me to resist.
I like how Alex and Jojo's relationship evolved but there was just way too much drama. And I know this is fiction but a lot of it was just over the top.
There are so many sad moments, tragic moments, unnecessary lives lost and plot twists.
Maybe it was just me but I enjoyed the first book more.
This book picked up right where book 1 left off. It made my heart happy but gave me insane anxiety. You just know that with how good everything was going for Alex and JoJo that something bad was looming. And oh it was oh so bad. I'm glad that they got their happy ever after. I'm also glad that some of the Sinclair's turned a new leaf. This book had some awesome steamy scenes. Scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. Scenes that made me OMG! Just all around great writing and a great series. I was given an arc copy by authors for an honest review.
This book the secret Jojo has been keeping comes out. Alex still wants Jojo but he will do anything to protect her. But suddenly the past is the past and everything will be all right right? We all know the Sinclair’s and Wallace’s are like oil and water and this book has some twists and shocking situations that had me scream out loud. This series is one thrill ride filled with second chances and revenge. Truly amazing 5/5 stars in my top 2019 thrilling series
I was so excited for this one! I needed answers and we got them - all the plot twists and secrets were slowly unraveled as we got the conclusion to Alex and JoJo’s story. It’s an absolute roller coaster of emotions in this one that’s for sure.
The best way I can describe this book is a saga. It’s a gasp out loud kind of read! I can’t wait to see what this duo brings us next.m
I received a free copy through the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.
3.5 stars — Maybe even just 3?
I had no patience for the pacing in these books. I would have LOVED them if they’d been edited down and tightened up (maybe even to just 1 book, a longer one?). I guessed a piece of the plot fairly early on, and so I kept waiting for it to be revealed. And waiting. And waiting. I found myself skipping forward to see if we were going to find out in this chapter. I guess there were just pieces that felt like filler to me, or that would have been more impactful and kept my attention better if they’d been shorter.
Which is a shame, because the good parts were REALLY GOOD. I loved the emotions in this one. I really felt the connection between Alex and Jojo, even as it was shrouded in lies and their faiths were both shaken.
I really enjoyed some of the redemptions that we did get in the end, even though I was more forgiving of some than others.
I just…I think the other problem I have is that I’m not a drama/angst reader. I don’t gravitate towards soap opera-y feeling storylines, and I kind of have very little patience for that. It’s like, I would have liked the romance between Alex and Jojo if all the craziness surrounding them had been toned down into something more real life (ie take out Alex’s father and have some other obstacles). That’s all a personal taste thing, totes on me.
But outside of the personal taste realm, I truly believe these books would benefit GREATLY from another editing pass or two. At minimum line/copy/whichever one the spelling/typo type one is. But because I have a stupid brain, I also caught on a WHOLE bunch of inconsistencies, or things that were patched up later on and it felt haphazard (like the fact that they kept only referring to Jojo’s virginity), probably because of the way it was originally written (radish or patreon or something?). That stuff could have been cleaned up before release, and it would have been a smoother overall story. There were also just weird turn of phrases that threw me off (including one about the clit pulling his tip in) and could have been cleaned up. So if you’re nitpicky about that shiznit, this one *may* bother you (it’s not horrible, but it is noticeable).
The past/present jumps didn’t always work for me. I mean, partially because I notice inconsistencies (like Sophomore year homecoming, but then they’re talking at the end of Junior year and referring to it as though it was only a few months ago). But also, like, they would set something up in the present (like where Jojo’s asking Alex about a specific past event), and then we jump to the past, but when we jump back to the present it’s a few days later and we don’t get to see Jojo’s reaction to that event. And, like, it felt pivotal, so I don’t understand that choice.
So yeah. Weird reviews right? Like, I often have mixed reviews, but this one felt even more mixed-ter than usual, even for me. Ah well. I think it would have been a bigger hit if this was a fave genre/trope for me.
Continuation/Conclusion of book 1, The Wallace Girl by authors Anne Elliott and Ginger Scott picks up at the "cliffhanger" the authors left us at.........
Well, this book was just absolutely meh. Just meh for me and please know that this hurts me the most, as I am the founder and president of the Ginger Scott fanclub. Since I am already being completely honest, my problem with this book is that it's just too much. Too much! Too over the top, too far fetched, too flowery, too many words. It was a bit like a Spanish novela. It seriously had everything and the kitchen sink. I wish they would have committed to one or two issues then left the others for a different time. This is the part that will hurt me the most......I could tell who wrote what. It just didn't flow very much, it felt stilted and I promise, this hurts me more than it does you. I promise! My favorite part of this book was Grady. That was mind-blowing and won't say anything else, because it would ruin it. I wish they would have run with that part. That being said, would I read more......yes. I would, because I love them both and I am excited about the potential is there, it needs to be polished and I am excited to have a front seat to the journey. Oh yeah, kiddos to them for releasing the so close! Thanks for not making me wait!
An explosive and fiery ending to this Wallace-Sinclair duet. The writing duo lacked strength of a usual Ginger Scott novel. The final installment picked up where the first ended. But this one lacked development and completion for me. In the end, there were too many unanswered questions.
And one of the biggest for me: WHAT HAPPENED TO AJAX???? You remember him, right? Seems he just got left in the dust and smoke and nobody even mentioned his name. Who ended up where? And who ended up with the family riches and how were the final MIAs accounted for? Sad and thoughtless and sloppy!
So, for what in the beginning appeared to be the start of a perfect family drama/saga, turned out to be a duet far less than I imagined. I figured out the big "evil" elephant long before it made itself known. And then a less than stellar ending (although mixed with some sad and happy) was a big disappointment.
This is a continuation of the story from The Wallace Girl (you need to read that one first), as Alex and Jo try to make a life for themselves. You get to see a lot more of their history and how Alex was manipulated . I definitely felt the trepidation and the danger as secrets were revealed and the story reached its peak. I thought there were a few holes in the story that were ignored but I still enjoyed it.
The Sinclair Heir is Eliot Scott’s explosive conclusion to the Feud duet series. I previously said this author had struck gold, and I wasn't wrong. The secrets and lies that are revealed are shocking!
While book one, The Wallace Girl, was a good set-up, this second book is action-packed from the start to the finish! It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I easily consumed this book in one sitting. The dual POV and dual time line continue. Readers get more gritty detail of the past from Alex. His shocking confessions are mind-blowing. Whether the transgressor was his flagitious brother, Grady, his father, or himself, Alex’s confessions would stun even a priest.
Just as Jojo’s secret is revealed to Alex the overwhelming dread of some ominous threat overshadows her incredible reveal. Even though I figured out the big twist, the thrill of the journey was not diminished! Both Alex’s mother, May, and brother, Grady, have bigger roles in The Sinclair Heir and both characters add delightful tension and fright to the story. The insights and confessions are amazing. The evocative writing made it so easy to picture every chilling scene.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. For more reading recommendations, visit Book Junkie Reviews at www.abookjunkiereviews.wordpress.com
I love Ginger Scott YA and NA stories, Anne Eliot was new to me, and the blurb was really intriguing.
Sadly, I only give a 3 to the Duet. The covers, the blurb, it was all very promising, I even felt enthralled reading the first chapter.
But then I kind of struggled with the back and forth between Alex and Jojo, and I struggled even more with Book 2.
And especially, I couldn’t “forgive” some character’s actions, and couldn’t literally stand the fact that the main characters were so forgiving toward said character.
Some things were taken too far, and some events felt too forced too.
It could have been an amazing duet, but sometimes I felt like the book had a lot of adult/mature content (don’t get me wrong, I love my steamy romance), and at the same time, the main characters often sounded immature. I needed so much more depth, in all aspects (characters, pace, events…)
I guess it’s a “it’s not you, it’s me” kind of reading experience…

2.5 stars While I enjoyed the Wallace Girl quite a bit, The Sinclair Heir didn't really work for me for several reasons: * there were several editing problems, enough that I had trouble getting into the story * there were some continuity errors that also took me out of the story * I didn't really connect with the characters here - it felt very distant * the sex scenes were... kind of boring * some things that happened had me very surprised, and also affected, however, the characters / narrator glossed it over without looking back
So the conclusion to this series and yes there is a lot of predictability and you do guess the "secret" quite early on but what I loved about this duet was the writing. It was strong and kept me reading until I knew how it ended.
I wanted more from Alex in book 2 and hoped that the years that separated him and Jojo taught him to stand up to his evil Father. It was hard to swallow his naivety at times but bearing in mind the upbringing he and his brother had, you can understand how programmed he had become. Like Jekyll and Hyde one minute human the next an unbelievable monster. It was hard to take on board the things that his Father made him do.
Alex and Jojo were pawns in his father's dark fucked up fun-feud. He was evil in every sense hanging onto a vengeance that should have been put to rest a long time ago but Michael Sinclair was always one step ahead in his evil game.
There was a lot of activity in the second part of the story and I hope that justice would eventually be meted out. It did and it was quite a climax
A really good start from Ginger Scott and Anne Eliot (Eliot Scott)
I look forward to their next book with much anticipation.
I tried to like this one I really did. I love ginger Scott’s work and I gave this one a go Hopi g it would be her style but it’s very different to her usual work . I haven’t read anything of Anne Eliot’s yet though . My main thought on this diet is that it feels very unpolished . We are given dual point of views and also it switches between past and present the whole way through and so much that I felt lost at times and it became tedious . I can’t help but feel that it would have worked better if book one was their past story ending on the night Alex sends jojo away and the n book 2 Was her coming back and fighting for them . The flicking between and also the revealing of secrets so quickly and at different times just took away from the suspense or mystery or emotion of the story.
On top of that there was endless and pointless dialogue that I Will admit I skipped over quite a few times as it became repetitive .
I liked the ideas behind the plot and story line and I think it had potential but really needs a good polishing to shine . As it is it just didn’t work for me .
I recently discovered Ginger Scott. Read Drummer Girl. Loved it. When I heard about The Feud Series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Alex and JoJo are......honestly, I'm not sure I have the right words. They are meant to be. From their first meeting, they are meant to be.
I loved the flashback chapters! I loved getting to know their history. Two kids. Falling in love. Surviving Alex's crazy father! A family feud that isn't worth the profound losses that JoJo endures.
I can't leave spoilers! So. I'll just say that this story was perfect! It was entertaining. Sexy. Angsty. Edge of your seat, impossible to put down!
I would like another book. Please. I highly, 100% recommend this book!
Whilst the bones of the story were there. This book really dragged. What he was thinking what she was thinking. Then jumping backwards then forwards. It was if the filler words were in there to make the book longer and boy was it long.
I skimmed a lot of the way through because it was boring and there was no content that hadn’t already been repeated numerous times throughout both books.
I can’t really recommend it because I really struggled with it
I'm sorry I just couldn't finish this book. I skimmed through the first one and was hoping this would be better. It was not. I don't like how's the story jumps back and forth from the present to the past. I don't need the details of every event that happened in the past. Seems like a great plot horrible writing.
I loved the first book, but this one stole the show. I'm the first book, I could predict the direction the story was going to go. This one had some major twists that I never saw coming.
Fantastic characters, story, and world-building. I would have liked to see more of a future in regards to the epilogue but other than that this was a great book and duet.
I love Ginger Scott I read all of her books and they never disappoint. This book was different with having two writers but I still liked it. My only complaint was it was fast moving in the present and I wish it would have been slower.
The explosive conclusion to the Sinclair feud duet. Did not see the twists and turns coming until it hit. A well done story that was interesting and unique.
I don’t normally review several books in a series all together. But these books were released only one week apart and, because I read them back to back, I now feel like I’ve just read one long book…my feelings from The Wallace Girl and from The Sinclair Heir have merged together to give my heart one impression of this saga. So, I’ve decided to do one review where I’m hoping I can adequately share all my thoughts.
These books were definitely filled with drama and angst…the kind that has you shaking your head and trying to figure out what’s going on while, at the same time, wondering what on earth will happen next. Reading these stories felt like riding a rollercoaster for me. There were parts where I was super emotional, parts where I felt a bit detached, and parts where I couldn’t figure out what these two authors were trying to do to me.
Alex and JoJo had me on the edge of my seat and I equal parts loved and hated them at times. This is the kind of story where you have to be ready to change your mind about how you feel, you can’t decide at the very beginning. And that can sometimes be difficult for me. During the first book, I actually really disliked Alex a great deal and, had I not been intrigued by the rest of the story, I might have given up. However, that’s the beauty of this tale, it shows the reader that you don’t always have to like every character at each stage of the story. I started to see him in a different light as things progressed and, because of the dual POV, I began to understand and accept what he’d done. I came to believe in his love for JoJo and to root for them.
These books alternate between the present and the past and we’re able to get to know the characters and chart their path from being perhaps a bit too naive to becoming strong adults who take on the struggles they’re faced with head-on. This is definitely a story that I can see being turned into a television series – one with huge drama, unpredictable storylines, over-the-top characters who straddle the line between good and evil, and steamy romance to sooth your soul. These two authors managed to put a new twist on family feuds, young love, surprise plot-twists, and heartbreak. I think you’ll enjoy this series. But, be sure to get both books…you won’t want to wait even one minute to continue this saga after you’ve started it!!
Think back to the last time you watched a TV show or mini-series and at the beginning of the last episode you hear, "and now the stunning conclusion to..." THAT is what The Sinclair Heir is.
This is the sequel book to Ginger Scott and Anne Eliot's ("Eliot Scott's") first book in The Feud Series, "The Wallace Girl." And man it is going to knock you off your feet. I had the pleasure of reading this as a serial when it was on Radish. It still has the dramatic tone and movement of old 1980's prime time soap operas, like "Dallas" and "Dynasty," but it's now in book form. It's definitely been finessed and nuanced to give the readers a lot more all at once by styling it into two books. And these two books were published close together so that nobody really had to wait long for the STUNNING CONCLUSION to The Feud Series.
The Sinclair Heir picks up right where The Wallace Girl left off and we've already learned a lot of information. Some things are shocking, some are just plain criminal, and others are just a fist full of happy news!
What's that? You read it that fast? Nope, it wasn't shorter than the first book, you just read it faster to get to the end. I read the serialized version and both books and even I read faster, already knowing what was coming.
Jojo and Alex are still telling us their story from both points of view, and there are still two time frames, past and present. However, in this sequel, not only do you need answers from the first book, but you'll get new shockers in this book too.
Some parts of this story are scary. Nail-biting scary. Some of the revelations from Alex might even make you cry for him and Jojo. They'll also make you gasp! But you are also going to get one hell of an ending. Just like in the first book, each chapter will feel like a cliffhanger, but keep going because "Eliot Scott" ties up every single thing they put out into both books.
There is crime, mystery, thriller, and romance all in one great series. Break down what goes into all four of these genres and you'll be astonished that "Eliot Scott" were able to masterfully weave it all together like they did. You may feel all tied up but they will unravel you...I promise!
I personally LOVED having all of my favorite genres rolled into two captivating, fast-paced dramatic novels. The ending? You won't see it coming. Be glad, because it's worth the wait.

The Sinclair Heir is the continuation of JoJo Wallace and Alex Sinclair’s story which started in The Wallace Girl. If you haven’t read that book, you will need to read it before reading this one for everything to make sense. This review is spoiler free, so you can keep reading to find out what I thought even if you haven’t read The Wallace Girl.
I was so glad I had The Sinclair Heir ready and waiting to read immediately following The Wallace Girl. I really needed to know what was going to be next for JoJo and Alex. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait long. Things immediately started happening at lightning speed from page 1. That was actually a surprise considering how slowly revealed and angst filled things were in the first book. I kind of missed that vibe in this book. If The Wallace Girl was all history and build up, The Sinclair Heir was all romantic suspense and action.
A ton of stuff happened in this book. A. Ton. JoJo and Alex were still fighting the forces of evil in their lives. The stakes got even higher and the romance even hotter. There were reveals left and right. Some of those reveals I was shocked by, others I could see coming from the beginning of The Wallace Girl. Whether I knew were coming or not, all created an enthralling tale.
The Sinclair Heir was a great end to what The Wallace Girl started. I really enjoyed what a collaboration between Ginger Scott and Anne Eliot brought to the table. I’m hoping this is just the first of many collaborations between the two authors.
The Wallace Girl and The Sinclair Heir was a new type of venture for both authors involved and I will always applaud anyone who delves into a new genre. I will say I finished both books so that means it caught my attention enough to see it through. I think my biggest qualm was the, what felt like, constant flashbacks. I love a good flashback, but I feel like if it’s taking a third to half of the word count it’s just too much. A lot of it was important, but it could have been condensed. I did love JoJo. She was pretty amazing and just the type of strong heroine I like in my romance books. I also enjoyed that Alex built everything as if it was just as much for her as it was him. They are definitely the star-crossed lover types and it fit well with the rest of the plot. Lastly, I found myself guessing everything at every turn. Now, I am not fooled easily, but I never feel like it usually THIS obvious… it was almost cheesy. It seemed that once I read the end that this was suppose to be written that way, but I never saw much advertisement stating that from the author, which was disappointing. I was expecting mystery, suspense, and high stakes, but I was expecting to eye roll several times. Definitely glad I gave it a shot, but not really something I am going to be raving about.
