No matter your situation, the hand you’ve been dealt, or the circumstances under which you live in, you can CHOOSE to move on. You can CHOOSE to succeed, to be happy, to live a life that you always desired.
It all comes down to choice.
Will you choose to do nothing, to fail without meaning, to carry on coasting through life?
Or will you choose to take action, to learn from your failures, to shape the world around you and live the life you want to live?
I chose the latter. I chose to fall a thousand times and rise up a thousand and one. I chose to dictate my own life, live under my own terms. Seven years ago I was faced with this decision. Rather than follow the herd, I decided to become a fiction author. The struggle was hard but today, I am a Best-Selling Author, having sold thousands of novels worldwide. I chose to be successful, happy, and fulfilled.
If you are ready to do the same, to follow your dreams, and to turn your creativity into a career, this is how.
Author's Note:
Hi. I'm Ryan. I've been a professional creative person for seven years (almost eight - or more depending on when you read this). This book was utterly terrifying to write because usually I can hide behind my characters and if anything goes wrong, just throw a magical firefight and all would be forgotten.
But this is all real. This is my mind in literary form. I put the thoughts, techniques, and practices in this book because I know what it feels like to be lost. To know there is something greater you are meant for, but yet cannot seem to find it.
I have.
It took me a long, long -- dear god, a LONG -- while, but find it I did. I found my purpose and my life changed forever.
And in this book I will share with you how I did that. Don't expect me to hold your hand. If you know me, then you know to expect a kick in the ass more than a pat on the back.
But it will be a loving kick in the ass. I promise.
I am not so fond of books that supposedly get you to improve skills. So, this book really came as a surprise to me. Ryan Attard made a book to help you to get started in a dream. Of course he talked about writing but the practical tips and exercises in my opinion can be used to succeed in any dream profession you love. I mean, it is not a help-yourself book, because it didn’t talk about the magical formula to get everything you want but moreover a method of how to focus and work hard to achieve what you really want to do with your life. The exercises Ryan recommended are easy to put into practice and gave you a mean to an end if you are willing to work for it. It is inspirational!!
DNF 25%. I love this guy’s fiction! However this book is very murky and repetitive. While it’s a lot of tough love and very aggressive in lighting a fire under the reader, it doesn’t provide very much actual guidance. It felt very much like a rough draft. I would really love to sit down with this guy and talk because I think he’s fascinating, but this book doesn’t do anything for me. Of course that’s just me, and why I didn’t rate it. I don’t want to bring down his rating just because I couldn’t connect with his writing.
Some of this is welcome advice, and some is not, but all of it right to the point. The last book I read on the subject was “How to fail at almost everything and still win big” by Scott Adams and now this one. Really hit home to me. Thank you Ryan.
While I am not into self-help books or anything of the sort, this was quite light and very helpful to everyday normal people with jobs and other responsibilities, who are nevetheless fighting for a dream.
