Wow, this drama reminded me of a soap opera, but with more sex, secrets and surprises! Kept me reading into the dead of night. Can't give the storyline away, all I CAN say is try it, you'll like it!

Niqi wants to be able to talk to her fiancee Chance, but he never seems to want to talk to her unless he starts the conversation. Their life in the bedroom is stale and he always seems to be working or on business trips. She sees this guy named Denim who is so HOT, but she is engaged and doesn't want to complicate her life.

Then Tiffany comes along. She seems to be trying to meddle in their lives. Whenever she brings Tiffany's name up in coversation with Chance, he doesn't want to talk about it. She just thinks something is fishy about it.

This would have almost been a perfect book if it weren't for a few things. First of all, the book is written in first person with Niqi telling the story. Sometimes though it switches to third person even in the same sentence. I've never written a book, so I know it has to be hard to keep everything straight sometimes. Also, when characters are talking, it was hard sometimes to differentiate who was talking when there were two quotes within a sentence. Other than that, it was perfect!

I loved this book, and L.M. Blakely did an awesome job with it. The characters came to life for me. I didn't have any trouble remembering who was who. Sometimes authors can overload you and introduce so many people that you can't keep them straight, but that was not the case here at all! There was always some kind of drama going on, and I never knew what to expect next! I love a book like this that you can't predict what is going to happen or how it's going to end! I highly recommend this one!

You reap what you sow, don’t be wikked

In this novel, we meet Niqi Brown a young got it going on woman. She has it all or so one thinks. She is an executive director at Crucial Flash Inc. she has a Billionaire Fiancé Chancelor Barnes IV aka Chance. They have been a powerhouse couple for forever it seems. They are each other’s first everything. Chance is next in line of his father company. Chance is everything a woman can want handsome, wealthy and on top of his business game, He seems to think that keeping Niqi lace in the finest is enough for her to stay with him. Niqi on the other hand just wants his love. With Chance’s father, being sick Chance has to step up to the plate and is traveling a lot keeping Niqi’s bed cold at night. When Niqi goes out to a party with her younger sister Shayla she has a chance meeting with the valet parking attending and is instantly attracted to him although nothing comes of this meeting. Then they meet again and we then learned his name is Denim he asks for her number and they build a friendship that later turns in to love affair. Thus begins the love triangle.

Now you add the supporting cast Tiffany a wealthy woman from “old money” who at one point was friends with Niqi and her collage roommate, whom is now her archenemy. Tiffany is in love with Chance and believes she is the perfect woman for him and will stop at nothing to get Niqi out of his life. Tommie Niqi’s gay and hilarious personal assistant. Shayla Niqi’s baby sister. Elaine Niqi’s older sister. With those involved, this makes for a great read. We learn this world is smaller then we think when secrets are revealed and lives are change. We also learn keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

LM Blakely has come strong in her debut novel. This novel had twist and turns that made this an enjoyable read. Some of the things that came out of these characters mouth had me cracking up. While there were a few editing issues and time line issues this novel still comes together. I was only disappointed in the outcome of Shayla there was no closure there. I loved the ending of this book as the words we reap what we sow become evident!!! I look forward to reading more from this new author as she a vivid imagination and I can only imagine what she dreams up next.

Money Can't Buy You Love

On the outside looking in, Niqi Brown seems to have it all. She has a great job as an executive director at a company called Crucial Flash, Inc. She is engaged to the handsome billionaire Chancelor Barnes. Unfortunately, Niqi is unhappy. Chancelor, aka Chance, spends so much time working that it leaves little quality time for the two of them. Not to mention she feels unsatisfied with Chance sexually.

When Niqi begins to get disturbing messages left on her phone, she begins to wonder if Chance is hiding something from her. Tiffany, an old college room mate, surfaces out of the blue and it has Niqi more suspicious than ever, considering Tiffany had a thing for Chance back in college. Now Niqi is determined to find out what Tiffany has up her sleeve.

Enter Denim, a handsome and intriguing man. While Chance is always away on business trips, Niqi and Denim develop a friendship that soon grows into a love affair. Ultimately she will have to make a decision on which man she will be with. Little does she know that these two men may have more in common than she realizes.

"Wikked" by lmblakely really deserved 4 stars for content, but the lack of editing really took away from the story to the point of making the story somewhat difficult to read. I found myself re-reading sentences to make them make sense. The story does have the elements to make a great story. Although some parts of the story were predictable, it was a good story nonetheless. In my recommendation if this book was revised with editing, this would definitely be a 4 star read.

(Spoiler: I had a problem with the "checks." There is a grace period on how long you can keep a check before cashing otherwise the check is void.)
