Ok...

Interesting premise including the cthulhu myth into Greek mythology. Seems to be written for a young adult audience. Good but not exceptional by any means.

There was just too damn much trying to happen here and none of it worked. It’s an interesting concept, crossing over Greek mythology and Lovecraftian mythos, but this is not a story that delivers on the execution. I liked the art style, I liked how the story was told - all narration, no dialogue and I liked the concept, but in the end the execution was a damn let down. Should have looked up the reviews before getting into it.

Hera as a main villain, mixed with Freaking Ctulhu? I mean common, you can't beat that. Also I saw this as a beautiful gift, as it was dedicated to author's son named also Apollo. Fun read, but I think it would have been a little bit better, if it was more detailed and had a bit more of deepness into it. Still very light and cute.

While pretty to look at, this "graphic novel" is really more an updated picture book, melding Classical Greek mythology rather uneasily with Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. This it does solely by casting Great Cthulhu in the roll of the Kraken (a la "Clash of the Titans"). There's no attempt to do anything more than that, so fans of Lovecraft expecting more will be sorely disappointed, as I was. Cthulhu is pretty much reduced to the role of "big-ass monster" in this, and is light-years from the mind-blasting alien god of unspeakable horror that lurks in the deep background of Lovecraft's mythology. Still, it's an engaging if rather simplistic tale, but I'd rather have spent my money on something else.
