USA Today bestselling author Livia Grant lives in Chicago with her husband and furry rescue dog named Max. She is fortunate to have been able to travel extensively and as much as she loves to visit places around the globe, the Midwest and its changing seasons will always be home. Livia's readers appreciate her riveting stories filled with deep, character driven plots, often spiced with elements of BDSM.
BOOM! Mind blown and mouth agape at this masterpiece.
Wow, wow and triple wow. Having had the massively good fortune to not only meet Livia Grant but chat with her (after the Four Brits Book Fest), I know how much blood, sweat and tears were involved in writing this book. I want to just say that it was worth it because without a shadow of a doubt this is her best book to date, and is up there as one of the best Black Light books too.
The book mainly follows a new couple, Nalani and Shane, though there is enough of Piper and Nolan’s story to satisfy the ‘need it now’ feeling, resulting from their appearance in the Celebrity Roulette anthology. There are several ways that these four characters are linked, some obvious, others less so.
I wish I’d re-read Piper and Nolan’s Celebrity Roulette story, just to have the events and ‘feelings’ fresh in my mind. However this book has been written in such a way that you can enjoy it without having read that story first, it really is a standalone book. I absolutely fell in love with these characters, they were believable and had depth, growing and learning as their stories unfolded.
There are some incredibly hot BDSM scenes for those who enjoy a little spice to their read. Shane has a penchant for humiliation play on an almost sadistic level, Nalani is a BDSM novice. Thankfully safewords were discussed and encouraged, though I would have liked to see some discussion/negotiation of limits too.
I just couldn’t read this book quickly enough, always desperate to know what was going to happen next. At the same time I wanted to make it last forever, savouring each moment and submerging myself in the amazing world created by this supremely talented author.
Scandalized is an absolutely amazing read, firmly ensconcing itself as one of my favourite reads of the year. I had the day off and, despite my best intentions to take my time, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s an absolute must read for any Black Light, Livia Grant or BDSM romance fan. I would also happily recommend it to those who like contemporary romance and are willing to be a little more adventurous.
***This book does contain a fairly graphic sexual assault scene, if that is a potential trigger this may not be the book for you. I felt the issue was handled sensitively, respectfully and in a believable manner. ***
Black Light: Scandalized is the fourteenth book in the Black Light world, and while it stands alone, reading Black Light: Celebrity Roulette would be helpful. Please be aware of a huge trigger warning before reading this book! This is a book that weaves two unlikely couples together through trials and triumphs. Nalani and Shane are almost a naughty Cinderella story, while Nolan and Piper might get a second chance, but will fears and darkness triumph over love?
Holy. Smokes. What did I just read?! Oh my goodness, it was both so good and so heartbreaking and I was so engrossed with this book right from the very beginning! Shane completely fascinated me because he was the perfect dichotomy between being a dirty bastard and a protective and caring provider. He was fun and had a huge mischievous streak that shined through in both intimate times and out. Nalani was equally fascinating because she had a history to hide, had a dirty side she was finding, and an innocent side that just shined through. I really enjoyed their scenes together and just got lost in their romance! Then I got lost in everything else that happened in this book. Holy crap! I was on an emotional rollercoaster between love, anger, bawling my eyes out, goodness, my heart hurt reading this book! Then you add in everything with Nolan and Piper, a couple introduced in a previous book and their relationship continues to unfold here, and this book turns into something that’s almost hard to read, but so worth it. It’s a chaotic yet beautiful balance between dark and light, consent vs harm, ripping your heart out and healing it back together. I wanted to hate this book at times, but I loved this book! I’ll have a book hangover, but it is so worth it!
I started this book so excited because I love all things Black Light. Knowing that there were two complete but separate stories happening between Nalani and Shane and Piper and Nolan. Both of these couples I have been dying to know about for some time. The stories and anticipation were titillating as they always are. They were authentic and detailed and erotic. Just like every BL book, there are some fetishes that push my limits but still intrigue me because they show the many dynamics of BDSM. At around 50 percent, I began to wonder how much more could this amazing author go in another half of a book (this is a big book just fyi). Mind you I am not complaining. I never want these books to end. I just kept reading having no idea what was in store for me. Color me heartbroken and gut-punched.
I won't give away any spoilers but this hurt. Yet, it was so artfully done that I am in awe. In a world where trust is the most important element, This stung. To see how these two stories finally overlapped was beyond powerful. Serious applause for how the author tied these two things together. This is a very sensitive subject and I cannot commend the author enough for handling it with such grace and respect. The advice from Piper to Nalani later... left me speechless and clutching my chest trying not to cry. The "aftercare" and attention that both Nolan and Shane had in handling their woman showed how powerful a BDSM relationship can be. The way that they were attuned to what their partner needed was remarkable. Nolan backing off or pushing when he needed to time and time again had me melting. I admired that he would step aside from what he was comfortable with just to make her comfortable. The give and take was remarkable. I also liked watching Shane and Nalani have to adjust how they did things but for different reasons, showing how there has to always be trust and compromise in order to have growth. The strong sense of family that so many former characters of this amazing series who showed an appearance was also much needed and appreciated.
Normally, I would say so much more about a book that touched me this much. However, I cannot without spoiling this story and I refuse to do that. I will say it a thousand times, this truly is a phenomenal series and more importantly, this might be my favorite by this author. My hat is off to her. Bravo.
I honestly don't know where to start with this review. The emotions that welled up in me at times were overwhelming, but not in a bad way. Ms. Grant did an outstanding job of weaving the stories of 2 different couples together. I knew there would be something that would connect them but when that was revealed, I was basically in awe. Very seldom do I read a story that touches all the emotions in me but this is one of those few. The way this was written...........everything came together and you understood why this was one book with two different couples and how the heartache and troubles that happen helped each couple in different ways. One, to face the past and then move on and the other, to face the future and still move on. The strength of both of the couples humbled me and made me realize what people who are really in love will do for each other. Out of all of the Black Light books, and I've read every one of them, this story and one other story will always and forever be my favorites. All I can say is if you are a fan of this series, get the tissues or the crying towel out because you are going to need it. Beautifully written, this is one story you won't forget!! Bravo!!
I can't even, I just don't, sigh.....I usually do word vomit! But my emotions are all over the place with this one. We have two different couples with their own problems going on and then....it all blows up! My emotions took over in this one, I couldn't put it down, had to know what happened next. This may be a fantasy world full of sexy, kinky times and the very rich but at it's core it's a story, a series about people, just people trying to live and love and find the other person or persons who fit them. I've becone very attached to them all, was waiting on this one and it was perfect. I had a friend tell me to get out my crying towel and it was the best advice ever. I was invested in this one from page one, not a safe for work reading, if the sexy scenes don't get you the emotionally crushing ones will. So my advice, find a quiet place, grab a beverage, a blanket and some Kleenex. You're gonna be there for a while. You can thank me later.
It's all in the pages of this story of some of the couples of Black Light. Of the two couples, there is the story of Nolan who is not taking no this time from Piper, they were meant to be together and he has vowed to show her that it can work out. The second couple is Nalani, a housekeeper for the Black Light Runway club and Shane the popular star that appreciates his time at Black Light where his privacy is protected and he can be the Dom he prefers to be, the sadistic, humiliation driven kinks he most enjoys. Nalani is an absolute newbie with no experience with BDSM and kink but she's curious and interested. The relationships have their own risks but so do others that are in the Black Light environment that could be problematic. For both the stories, I really liked the Doms, they knew what they wanted and did everything in their power to get it, while satisfying their subs while they were at it. There are a lot of twists and turns and tears and pain, but there will also be a HEA, so don't lose faith, it can happen.
I've read several books by this author, some good, some bad, some ugly. This one is somewhere between the last two. First, writing two intertwined stories from four different viewpoints was extremely jarring. Just about the time we as reader get caught up in one story, there is an abrupt shift to the other. That in itself is bad enough, but the author's attempt to show the difference between consensual BDSM and abuse was a failure in my opinion.
Spoiler alert: Nelani, the heroine in one of the storylines, suffers a terrific rape and torture from a sadist man during the course of the story. But even her "hero" wonders to himself how similar what he's done with and to her is to this abuse. He is in a position of power, liked to humiliate and control, likes to inflict a certain amount of pain. She is completely new to the BDSM scene, but he takes her from zero to sixty in no time. Is it consensual? Yes, but how much of her consent is because of infatuation and not wanting to disappoint or tell him no? Did he make allowances for that? Was the rape a thousand times worse, absolutely. But this is not the first rape scene I've read from this author, and in the other, it was glossed over. Rape is rape. Powerful men exerting influence over naive, inexperienced women may not always be rape in the horrific way that this experience was written, but there's a line that can be crossed even in so called "consent" that I think is crossed here in her relationship with the hero.
This is not then first time I've read something from this author that blurs the lines of consent and control, and I will think twice before I read more from her.

Livia Grant had me holding my breath from beginning to end! I have a love hate relationship with this story in the best way possible. This is a 4 person POV story, which I love because the differing perspectives is important. Piper, Nolan, Shane, and Nalani lives are twisted together is a story of past and present that will impact them all!
This book pushed some of my comfort zones! It also played into my dirty mind! I FLOVED the dirty talk from Shane! SOOOOO good!
I knew it was coming. I saw the scene before it occurs and I was waiting for it to resolve like may others do but it didn't. I wanted to rage and be angry for it not playing out the way I expected but to be frank I LOVED the raw reality of it. I LOVED that Livia didn't shy away from what I know must have been difficult. When I walk away from a book thinking deeply about the broader themes I know that a book has hit its mark!
Still trying to catch my breath... This is by far the most heart-wrenching story of the series. There were so many times I had to put it down to gain control of my emotions or to dry my tears. I was a wreck and yet I felt the love and blazing heat as the characters explored their unique D/s dynamics. The Black Light crowd has come to life once again, and although it is fiction, I dare anyone reading not to be impacted as if the author was describing circumstances happening to someone you know. Be it Nolan/Piper or Shane/Nalani, these are couples you will love and be rooting for in spite of the seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Now the wait for my next Black Light fix begins... Five stars do not begin to cover the excellence of this book.
Wow, this book delivers an avalanche of feels that I don't really think you can prepare yourself for. The well written, engaging storyline is complex and it offers a four person P.O.V. that creates a rich reading experience. Filled with drama, intense emotions and lots of steam, this is a book that will test you own emotions while causing you to squirm from all the heat. This is my independent, impartial review.
A soul ripping story addressing the darkest of acts to the bright light of love.
When kink meets tragedy, does one have to give the former up in order to survive and recover from the latter?
There are those who would say so. Would tell you kink has no place while recuperating from a traumatic life event, especially if it is something horrific AND has a sexual component to it. There is no real way to ignore that the two female heroines in Black Light: Scandalized are victims of rape. It cannot be ignored, especially because it is integral to the narrative of the story. But unlike many dark romance stories, the non-consensual scenes in this are not… romantic. They are brutal, they are raw, and they will rip you apart as you hurt for what both Nalani and Piper suffer through. But the real question in this story is this: does one let a life event (in this case sexual assault) define and/or redefine who you are as a person? Or do you separate the attack from who you are as an individual and go on to return your life to what it once was as you recover, including kink still being a component in it? How much ownership do you let your attacker have in redefining who you become after the fact?
A corollary to this is how people around you, especially loved ones, contribute to the idea that you must or must have fundamentally changed as a person after assault. That the very things that may have once brought you together as a couple can no longer be, because the victim obviously can no longer want those particular aspects in their life any longer. Addressing all the emotions and myriad issues regarding these subjects is where Scandalized excels. It does not avoid those issues. It addresses them head-on, and it does not sugarcoat the pain and difficulty that a couple have in navigating these waters. Additionally, it does not take the road of putting forth the notion that someone who has suffered the trauma of sexual assault *must* change who they are at a core level by dint of that event. Nalani and Piper both struggle during their recovery, but neither of them gives the power over themselves to their attacker that would be required for them to completely reverse from their original sexuality. That is an incredibly powerful message, and one which the author does a fantastic job of portraying. Not only from the POV of the victims themselves, but also from the loved ones around them who are struggling with their own feelings of helplessness and guilt.
The BDSM components of this book are very well fleshed out, and I love that at no point does the author engage in kink-shaming any of the characters. What they enjoy sexually they are given free rein to take pleasure in without it being made to feel trite or with any sort of underlying derisive tone. This is especially true—and very important—in the latter half of the book after the main assault has taken place. It becomes a painful catalyst at one point in forcing Shane (Nalani’s paramour) into addressing how he’s treating her like a fragile piece of glass rather than engaging in the kinds of sexual play that had originally brought them together. There are no simple solutions, no one gets away from having to confront the oft times difficult processes that take place during this phase through some sort of deus ex machina, and as a reader it was sometimes very difficult to read, but it made the story that much richer overall. Nolan and Piper go through similar tension in their own relationship, although I personally found Nalani and Shane’s story stronger in this regard.
This is a fantastic, though often difficult to read book. The subject matter makes it so. This is not a lighthearted fun, beach-read BDSM story. That isn’t to say there aren’t some incredibly sexy scenes: trust me, there are. But it all circles back to the main theme of the book, and honestly, that is where the strength of this novel lies. If you are looking for a story that is going to be tear at your heart with some incredibly difficult yet powerfully poignant scenes, and yet at the end still brings you up with movingly uplifting stories of recovery, then Black Light Scandalized is definitely for you.
Before I get to my review, I want to warn potential readers about three things. First, although Shane is a likeable H, his kinks will not be to everyone's taste; in fact, they will probably be off-putting to some (as they were, quite frankly, to me). Secondly, two of the main characters first appear in Celebrity Roulette and it helps to have read that since those events are referenced in this book. Finally and most importantly, the blurb does not indicate that some plot points will be triggers for some (descriptions for these books are increasingly vague, which is really a disservice to readers).
It's very difficult to review this book without spoilers, so please be prepared for the numerous black-outs you see below.
Although I love the Black Light universe, I had a lot of trepidation about reading this one. I haven't liked many of Ms. Grant's books in the past. One reason is relevant here: she .
Below is what worked for me and what didn't work for me. Your mileage will vary.
What Worked:
1) Characters: All four main characters -- Piper, Nolan, Shane, and Nalani -- were extremely likeable (yes, even Piper, though she wasn't in her previous book). The women weren't brats or TSTL and the men weren't overbearing or harsh. I particularly liked how dedicated Nolan and Shane were to their women (I hesitate to call Piper an "h"): men who will do anything for their partners are very appealing. It's impossible not to become invested in either couple. I really, really appreciated that this book wasn't as gender-essentialist as most in this genre since Nolan and Piper aren't presented as your classic D/s. And I really, really, really appreciated the ethnic diversity in Nalani, who is Hawaiian. One quibble: As I said above, Shane's kinks are not the usual ones in this genre, but, even given this, I thought he had too many kinks; the author should have concentrated on just a couple.
2) Dialogue: Ms. Grant particularly excels here -- her characters' conversations are very believable, never stilted, and often humorous (such as Piper and Nolan's running joke about synonyms).
3) The Representation of . For my caveat to this, see below.
What didn't Work:
1) The Two-Couple Plot: While the revelation of how these four characters were connected made sense at the end, it didn't for much of the book; in addition, after a certain point, the juxtaposition of the very dark storyline (and I don't mean "dark" in a kinky way) of one couple with the much lighter one of the other was jarring. A couple of other books have used the dual-couple structure ([book:The Daring Doms: A Steamy Contemporary Romance|48405310], for example) and for me, personally, I find it frustrating since I become invested in one storyline only to have to swiftly readjust to another.
2) Writing: Ms. Grant writes descriptively about erotica, less so about place and, tbh, her purple prose and crude talk get too much after a while (this is a personal taste; others may enjoy it). And, if she's going to continue to set her books in Hollywood, she may want to do research, such as what A-list actors make per movie (something she also did not do for Rescued). But the real problem here is the number of typos, missing words, and faulty punctuation that suffuses the book: almost every five or six pages. They really took me out of the story. I note that she uses an editing service; she might want to find a new one.
One note regarding the Black Light universe, particularly in light of what I see will be the subject of the next entry: the editors may want to rethink the too-similar plot devices these books now feature (Black Light: Defended was a notable and welcome exception). The constant use of crimes and crime-fighting characters has really taken over this series and I urge the writers to overhaul their template (couples can, for example, encounter different obstacles), particularly since the myriad number of abused subs these books feature has turned this series into one long victim-fest.
3 1/2 stars.
Note: I adhere to the ratings system as laid out by Goodreads: 2 stars = it was okay; 3 stars = liked it; 4 stars = really liked it; 5 stars = it was amazing. I gave this book 3 1/2 stars because I liked both MCs and I really felt for them, even though I thought the writing was exploitative and poorly edited. I do not think that every book I read is "amazing;" further, I think that it cheapens the rating system to always assign 4 or 5 stars. If a book really earns the 4 or 5 stars (and I realize that this is, to some degree, subjective), I'll give them -- but it certainly shouldn't apply to every book. YMMV, and everyone should enjoy/rate these books as they wish.
Additional Note: I did not receive this book as an ARC; I'm not another author who hosts or is hosted by other authors in this genre on our websites; and I'm not friends with the authors IRL, "friends" on this site, or friends on any social media site.
I don't give 5 stars lightly. I could count on one hand how many 5 stars I've given. What made me give that one extra star was because I got so lost in the book. I stayed up way too late reading. I had dreams about the situation and when I woke up frequently all I could think of was the book. I tried to work but had to read until I finished the book. My emotions were all dependent on the emotions of the book. Livia Grant did a great job at pulling at my heart strings. By the end of the book I felt so connected to each of the main characters. As I was reading I felt I was a part of the story.
This story starts with Shane and Nalani. The author had me hooked on Shane from the start. I'm not into reading humiliation kink but the way Livia Grant describes Shane and his kinks made me want to be his sub and give it a try. I kept imaging Shane looking like Chris Hemsworth. I didn't connect too well with Nalani at first. I couldn't replace her with myself but that changed as the story went on. The humiliation scenes were just light enough where I enjoyed reading them. The kink scenes were hot and steamy.
What confused me at first was when the author changed leading characters and started the story about Nolan and Piper. I first met Nolan and Piper in Roulette Redux. I was so intrigued with their story that I wanted more of the couple. I wanted to know why Piper was Mistress Ice. I was about to start this book immediately following Roulette Redux but figured I should continue in reading the Black Light series in order. All of my questions about the main characters were answered by the end of the book.
The main story was just another tale about an privileged, experienced male lead manipulating and exploiting an impoverished, vulnerable female lead. Having that female lead be a minority while the male lead was white just added another layer of ick.
And having him, without her informed consent, take advantage of a situation to command, manhandle, embarrass and humiliate her because it gets his rocks off was gross enough but doing it while she was sitting there with a piece of glass in her hand turned him into a disgusting creep.
And what the hell was that 'I going to leave my cum all over my sheets for you' crap? Like a housemaid enjoys finding dried up cum all over the sheets she has to handle and wash. There's a reason why they are handled with gloves and bundled up. 'But this cum is just for you, honey!' Yeah, like that makes a difference. So now he is also making her job even more noxious.
The secondary story, although not as gross, was even worse as that male lead used his power to harass, stalk and manipulate the other female lead, despite her making it clear she wants nothing to do with him, to coerce her into a relationship with him.
Frankly, the only difference between these lead male characters and the villain was the type of force being applied.
First off let me say that I finished this book over a week and a half ago and have been trying to write a review for it since. This has to be the hardest review I’ve ever written and not because it was an awful book. Quite the opposite in fact. I just couldn’t find the words for a review that would do Shane & Nalani and Nolan & Piper’s journey justice. And it was a journey, not just a story. Honestly I still don’t think I can write something worthy. Their story was gritty, raw and at parts so very hard to read BUT in the end it’s so very worth it. The chemistry and passion sizzles across the pages and you can feel the bond between the entire Black Light/Run Way family in this one. This is one of my favorites of the Black Light series.
Shane's kink is so delightfully naughty that you can't help but want to read more. His desires for tears, humiliation, a burning bottom are the things you wish for in the dark of night. His ability to make his kitten bend to his desires is delightful. The tragedy that brings his friends and the Black Light family together breaks your heart. It is sickening and sad and so very visceral. It wrenches your insides and brings tears to your eyes. You can see the lost girl in Piper. With her actions, her relationships, her hard demeanor. I applaud her long and arduous journey to recovering herself. This is by far my favorite of the Black Light series. I was hooked from the beginning.
Wow, what can I say that will do this book justice? Written as a 4 person POV, we follow the two main characters Shane and Nalani as well as picking up on Nolan and Pipers story from the Black Light Celebrity Roulette book. This book explores the subject of consent and the #metoo movement and as such there are triggers and graphic descriptions which some readers may find disconcerting. However I have to say that it is beautifully written, heart warming as well as heart wrenching and the two couples stories are woven together in the most poignant way. It was so wonderful the way the whole family of characters came together in the face of adversity - you will need your tissues for this one but it is so, so worth it. Shane has some pretty hardcore kinks which are certainly not to everyone’s taste but he is unwaveringly such a decent guy who keeps consent at the forefront and I absolutely ached for him as well as Nalani in the face of their adversity. The feelings of guilt and trauma were so well conveyed in Piper story, I really have to commend Livia on a job well done. In amongst all this are the hot scenes that we know and love from Black Light books - this book may have been a labour of love, but boy did you pull it off. Highly recommended, it really deserves at least one bonus star! I received an ARC for this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Wow, and I mean wow. I eagerly awaited this book, and I was not disappointed. Livia Grant has wonderfully written a very comp!ex story, and wrote about something that is truly horrible in our world with great care and love. As always, she brings the world of BDSM to life, which I love. I applaud her form bringing to life an issue no woman should have to deal with, but also writing strong women, and equally strong men to love and care for these women. Thank you, Livia for writing this book, and I now understand how it took you so long to tell this story.
What starts out as a fun BDSM read takes a dramatic and sad twist, mimicking what often happens in real life, hidden from public view. With an extremely difficult topic and a rough narrative to share, Livia has done an amazing job of telling the story that most authors shy away from. While readers often use books to escape, this one hits quite close to home while also showing there can be happiness and love after immense trauma. 5 huge stars.
What a great book. 4 lives are intertwined, even though they don’t realize it. Nalani meets her hearts crush,Shane Covington,at Runway, an exclusive club. Shane has a slew of kinky fetishes, and Nalani wants to try them out. Things escalate, and they become exclusive. Nolan and Piper have loved each other forever. Piper continues to push him away, he is just so stubborn, he doesn’t let her. There is an incident, that unfortunately involves all of them, even the extended Runway family. I loved this book. It was pushing limits, loving trysts and some fun banter. I would definitely recommend this book.
Scandalized was fantastic! What an emotional roller coaster this book took me on. It's the story of two couples whose lives are intertwined by a heart wrenching situation. At first a few of the topics were a bit taboo for me, but the storyline sucked me right in and they definitely made it better. There are some triggers in this book and Livia Grant handled them with an incredible amount of care and respect. I loved the four person POV and it was perfectly executed. We also got to revisit some of my favorite characters from previous Black Light books and I was very happy to catch up with them all. The author does an amazing job of tying everything up with this big, crazy group of people who have become like family to each other. This series just keeps getting better!
Having just finished this book, the emotions are still real and raw but what an amazing story Livia put together. Not gonna lie, some parts where hard to get through, especially the attacks that she described. It was draining to read through that scene, but I couldn’t put the book down until I had finished it. It pulls at your heart and makes you mad at the same time. This one is definitely worth checking out if you like the Black Light series. Well done Livia.
Couple one Shane and Nalani and Shane’s kink. He loves his kink and makes no apologies for it. Nalani a virgin to BDSM and Shane can’t wait to pop her cherry for his style of kink. The battle they face is one so vicious and horrible know one or couple should go through. Then there is Nolan and Piper. Piper has a secret that she wants no one to know and it’s destroying her from the inside out. Nolan is determined to find out it is, little does he know he and Shane share the same problem. This book is an OMG and I need more.
I was worried about two different couples being featured in this story, but Ms. Grant did a great job off keeping everyone straight and creating a moving story. I have enjoyed all of the BL stories and each looks at a different aspect of BDSM. While the love stories and sex were a big part of this story, moving forward from a tragic event was what made the story powerful. This book is a standalone story, however it follows up on a roulette couple and has several appearances from other characters. Both couples have a HEA.
Holy moly, I just couldn't put it down! This is one of the most intense books I've ever read! I will warn you, there are triggers for some of you in this book. That being said, those scenes are what makes this book such a huge statement on the inner strength of women, what we can overcome and the determination of the men who love us. Livia introduces Nalani, a housekeeper at Runway/Black Light and Shane, an award winning actor, in this story and brings the spotlight back to Piper and Nolan, who we met in one of the Valentine Roulette books. There are a lot of sub-stories lingering around the edges and appearances from some of the other characters we've come to love, but the story focuses on these two couples. As I said before, it is very intense at times, but also light and fun, hot and steamy, sweet and romantic and so many other things. I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest opinion...and that opinion is that you really need to read this book.
This book is by far the most emotional Black Light book! I'm not going to give you anything but my thoughts cause you know how to read a blurb yourself.
Nalani and Shane are one amazing couple. Shane is dirty as all get out and I thought it would bother me but it's done in a very hot way. Nalani is one freaking tough cookie and a newbie, which I'm SO GLAD Shane didn't say away from.
Nolan, oh sweet stubborn Nolan. I swear you'd think he was a masochist but he's got it bad for Piper. and Piper, she melted my heart this time. I did not like how she treated Nolan in Valentine's Roulette, but now we know why.
These 4 characters go on one massively emotional roller coaster!!! Hardcore chicks who are as bad booty (you know the word) as they come! And just for the record...there's the one character, you'll know who I'm taking about...pig farm, that's my thoughts on that!
This story features two main characters, Shane and Nalani. Shane is a mega movie star and is friends with Nolan and Piper. As a secondary story within this story, we finally get to see what happens with Nolan and Piper since Piper left Nolan tied up and ran off in Black Light Celebrity Roulette (Switched). The two couples stories end up coming together in a horrifying way. This story was extremely well written and it’s full of steamy chemistry, plus a plethora of emotions. The story takes you places you never expected and gives you so many feels you will love and some you will hate. It is a must read. I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review.
Some of the things that occurred in this book were hard to read but it is ultimately a story of love and redemption. Ms Grant takes a difficult and current topic and deals with it so skillfully. A wonderful read.
Wow all I can say is when reading this book make sure you have a box of tissues nearby as this book took me through a whole gamut of emotions that I just wasn’t prepared for.....I cried, cringed, smiled, was angry and horrified just to name a few. This book revolves around 2 couples, Nolan and Piper, who’s story started in Celebrity Roulette and was finished on a bit of a cliff hanger then and continues in this book...and with Shane Covington and award winning actor who is staying at the Runway property and Nolani who is a housekeeper at the property. I loved how their relationship progressed and how Nolani came into her own as she gained confidence in herself. This story is a huge 5 star read and I just loved it...
