When you look back, you’re always bound to stumble. For Thuy and Rashad, the past keeps resurfacing, and it seems like neither of them can ever catch a break. Thuy thought that she was done with her old life when she decided to open up her heart to accept real love, but it still hovers over her head like a dark cloud. Rashad thought he found something real when it came to Thuy and he ignored all the cautionary signs when it came to someone like her. He never offered women anything but great sex, but something about the dangerous beauty lured him in, and she managed to obtain the one thing he so desperately tried to keep — his heart. The only thing about a woman like Thuy is that she is a natural born killer that doesn’t know anything but pain, and Rashad finds himself staring at the barrel of a gun because of her. Will Thuy manage to escape her demons, or will she allow them to chase them from a second chance and redemption? Does Rashad manage to survive the poisonous apple called Thuy, or die because he didn’t heed the warnings given to him?
Bay-be Queen Courtney gave is another banger! These characters stressed me the out, so I can only imagine the you're of head space it put our beloved author in😔🤦🏾.
I swear I wanted to fight Thuy & Prophet ol wishy washy ass😤. First she was running, then he was all in his feeling butt hurt. Now her shooting him😳, he had a right to be pissed but he took that ish too far. Her keeping her pregnancy from him was a motherfudgesicklestix no no in my book. IDGAF how she was feeling about Shad at the time, she should've told him from jump about the baby. That was some selfish ish, period😒! Then she had the nerve to judge Khia for doing the same thing to her brother Salis😒. Prophet for allowing his pride to lead his decision making, but no matter what was going on with him and Thuy he didn't play about her and refused to allow anyone to judge or disrespect her.
That bih Khia was so damn miserable it's sad. You leave your husband and take money after the Dr say he's paralyzed. Oh but the joke was on her cause God showed up and showed out. She wanna bring her miserable ass back on the scene 🙄😒. She was pressed as hell when Salis treated her soul, then she call herself confronting Thuy and that ish back fired🤣. I'm with the cousin she knew that baby wasn't Prophet and she was dead wrong for waiting so long to tell Salis that he had a son😒.
This book was powerful! The author really dug deep with this installment. Her writing about the importance of seeking spiritual, mental and emotional healing. How important it is to have a relationship with God and its ok to to to therapy. Prayer changes, it works and so does therapy, but you have to go at it with an open heart and mind. Be ready and willing to put in the work. I really can't wait to read more by this beauty💕
This storyline had my attention since Book 1 and Book 2 had me locked in. I love how the author had the story pick right back up where it left off. Great character development. After all that Thuy had been through and the struggle she encountered getting back her life, she has definitely grown in this book which made me love her even more. Her support system never gave up on her but it was up to her to want a better life. This series will have you feeling all kinds of emotions but it's all worth it for that happy ending. Excellent job Courtney. Looking forward to reading what you have next.
Wow that was worth the wait, thank you. The story line and roller coaster ride was written so well from book one and 2. It’s so deep and emotional but filled with Gods love, grace and life lessons. Thuy truly over came. My only gripe is some of the editing errors. There were a few. I’m already excited for future possible books. It’s crazy how everyone is connected some how, from family to all these secret side relationships. Lol And I would love to know if Thuy ever found out about her family selling her out to Grim in book 1. Whew they are the worse. They haven’t changed. All in all I could NOT put the book down. Vengeance was definitely hers. ;) This type of breakdown and story telling makes me think of Chelsea Marie and Love Belvin. ❤️
The second book didnt disappoint at all. This was the continuation to book 1. Thuy and Rashad went their separate ways after her accident, but Thuy had a secret that Rashad was not aware of. His feelings for her was hate for what happened but he still loved her. I loved everything about this book. Thuy became the woman she didnt think she deserved to be because of her past. I loved how Thuy became the woman she was supposed to be and got what she deserved. All the characters in this story were great. I would love to hear more about Toni and Silas and what happened with Renae, so maybe there is more to come, fingers crossed!!!!
This book was definitely a journey. I appreciate how the author took the time to explain back stories and sidebars that contributed to the storyline instead of glancing over them in the dialogue. I also love how she allowed herself to be used to give The Word. Somebody will be blessed by reading this story. I’m glad Thuy received her peace. Khloe is a piece of work. And I’m hopeful that at some point we get more from Toni and Silas.
that was a rollercoaster of emotions fr!! the way i cried throughout this book is crazy!!! Thuy has been through hell and back!!!! okay!!! bro i love it!!! Thuy and Rashad (prophet) were clearly meant for each other fr! they’ve been through elk with jealous ex’s, the devil incarnate, treacherous people tryna block their greatness but GOD IS GREATER!!!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 that all i’m saying without spoiling it lol
Courtney, this story I the bomb. What a lovely ending. Had me up here crying my soul out. It was nothing short of amazing. I really believe that Rashad and Thuy were created for one another. Don't let me get started on that long weave, frontal hair wearing chick that birthed Noah. I want to drag her...that's all. It's worth the read!
These two STRESSED ME OUT!!!!!!! Lord! I had know clue how deep and complex their love story would be. I need a whole therapy session myself 🤧 Prophet was worth it. I loved what he did for her father in book 1. They both made a lot of mistakes but Thuy deserved to have true love and freedom from her past
While I loved the book and the storyline, there were a LOT of misspellings, grammatical errors and disjointed sentences. There were even parts of chapters that were complete copies of previous chapters. I really really felt like I was reading a rough draft of the book instead of a finished product. Good job, but could've been better
Reading stories like this lets me know just how strong people can really be! With everything this young lady went thru, and all the obstacles she stood strong and dealt with each blow!!
Whew Thuy went through so much. I really love how the siblings mended their relationships. Rashad started off so good but man can he hold a grudge. Although Thuy obviously got over how he acted when he was angry I am still mad at him😂
I just loved pt 2! I laughed and cried and connected with the characters on different levels. I hope it's more to come.. I would love to read about Toni🤔
Whew! Is all I can stay. This couple took me through the ringer. My emotions were up and down all the way through and then you have the audacity to say THE END maybe. Girl bye. Great read.
