He's the only man who threatens my inner peace. And losing my temper would mean war.
I’m a calm dragon shifter until someone brings out my inner monster. Darcy is fearless. His charm drives me crazy. But he teases me like there would be no consequences. As the CFO of an alien corporation, I can’t afford to make mistakes. Mistakes that would kill my family and lead to planetary destruction. Now, the time has come to prove that I have control over my temper. The treaty between dragons and humans has been threatened. The fate of this Earth is riding on my shoulders. I can’t let the fire crackle from my hair. Not now. And the only thing that’s coming in the way of my victory? Darcy. The man of my dreams... and my biggest nemesis.
Starla Night was born on a hot July at midnight. She hikes, scuba dives, and swims naked in the ocean. She writes about smoking-hot dragon-shifter billionaires and steamy alpha merman-shifters at StarlaNight.com.
I loved this book. After reading the other books in this series (and loving them all!) I have been so looking forward to Amber's story. It was a pure joy to finally be able to get a much more up close and personal look at this female dragon shifter but also a very big eye-opener. I adored each and every one of the male dragon shifters that have been featured in this series but we have learned that the females have their own ways and unique traits. So I felt it would be fresh and exciting to explore things from a different angle and Amber and Darcy's story did not disappoint! This book delivered everything I anticipated but it also broadsided me with the flip side of being a female dragon. My heart just ached for Amber. Her need for control, her desire to be loved and the fears and doubts she fought daily over who and what she was were just heartbreaking. I liked Darcy a lot. He was sweet, charming and entirely too kind and soft hearted for his own good. He came across a very genuine. He was not your typical book boyfriend and I found that quite appealing. I found the storyline very engaging, the characters lovable, the chemistry steamy and the romance swoony. Add in large doses of drama, humor, snappy banter, some serious crazy, a surprising amount of poignancy and deep emotions and you have yourself a truly delightful read that will warm your heart, have you laughing, make you cry and leave your heart melted. In short, this is a book that will make your day a whole lot brighter. Just wonderful!! This is my sincere, freely posted review.
Oh my glittery, magical goodness folks! Dragon VIP: Amber is as scrumptious as your favorite desert and just as mouthwatering and heart warming too! Amber is loaded to the max with star-aligning sweetness and awe. Darcy and Amber have the most sweetest chemistry and their romance is crazy special and beautiful.
When I found out that Amber was finally going to get her HEA I was ecstatic! And when I finally got my early copy I was blown away by how much better it turned out to be than I expected. Oh I knew it was going to be good, but what I got instead was SO. Much. More. Darcy is strong, teasing, fun, charming, caring and just as alpha as the Dragon males. And Amber...oh she was magnificent! Strong, fierce, beautiful but she also has a female vulnerability and desires that made her extra amazing in my eyes. This story was so much fun and beautiful and magical. What a special read this was!
Dragon VIP: Amber gets a SPARKLY FIVE BEAUTIFUL STARS! Bring on more Dragons!
She has no clue the crap she is actually being put through by his psycho mom but her heart is so pure it doesn't matter that's shes a big bad dragon...Darcy is perfect for Amber in everyway
This entire series has been amazing but this has to be my absolute FAVORITE one.
Amber is adorable in her obtuse, hyper-literal sweetness and her desire to be included and wanted. She is left confused by Darcy and unable to believe he is anything but teasing when he tells her that he wants her or that’s she’s beautiful. I love the juxtaposition of her fierce, dragonly danger and her sweet, innocent self-containment.
Darcy is irreverent, sweet and desperately in love with Amber. My only teensy eensy complaint was that he never tells her that she’s the only woman he’s ever been with. I think that would have been knowledge that could deepen their connection and bond.
But what put this story over the top was the expertly woven comedy surrounding Darcy’s crazy family and the antics of his mother. I never laughed so hard reading a romance novel. And screeched in horror a couple times.
Wow, this one I enjoyed more than any other one. I'm not sure if it is because I adore Amber and we finally get to learn about the sister or if it is because of the crazy train here. Darcy's mother is nucking-futts. Good lord have mercy I haven't read about such a dysfunctional family that thought they were the "Cleavers" in so long. I'm actually a bit frightened by Darcy's mom and wonder where Ms. Night came up with such a creepy woman.
I did like all of Darcy's sisters. His poor sister Tara, I felt so badly for her. I just adored Amber and how she constantly tries to help and not abuse her power. She just wants to be needed and loved. Is that too much to ask for? She also has a patient of a saint. I am baffled by how she kept it all under control. Truly, she is a remarkable dragon. She's my favourite. I loved this story and recommended it to paranormal romance readers who like women who come into their own.
I would definitely say you should probably read the previous books in the series to understand – the story starts off with them already having met 5+ years ago but feels insta-love in this book, so to have a general idea of their history I would suggest reading the other books
I was excited about Amber/Darcy's book because I had liked them in the previous books, but this was somewhat of a letdown... The writing was good but it could have been so much shorter since the conflict was just the same throughout and never resolved until the end (and even that wasn't really justifiable but 🤷♀️)
– Dual pov, third-person – Virgin H/maybe virgin h? At least human-wise – Human H/dragon-shifter h – No cheating or OM/OW drama – HEA ending but no epilogue – Possible triggers:
Okay I thought Mal's book was funny but it doesn't even compare to Amber's. Between Darcy's lunatic mother and Amber's misinterpretations of everything I don't know who was more hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. There's definitely character growth for all the large.cast of characters here and between the two leads as they grew into their relationship, but what shines is the humor. This is why I've binged every book in this series because the morbid humor bouncing off every page. I adored this book, it is by far my favorite in the series.
The part where Amber gives Jasper dating advice was downright priceless. They just so clueless I can't help but wish they were real. I could gush for a while about this one, but instead I'm just going to say it's a must read not to be missed.
I enjoyed this book almost as much as the first three. It was well-written, and contained my favorite elements: imagination, action, romance and eroticism, some suspense, and a happy ending. Still gets a rating of 4, though I wasn't crazy about the crazy mother. At times, I thought that overshadowed the bigger and more important themes! Other than that, Enjoy this story, I'm on to the next in the series!
This is such a good series, 4 down and 3to go I can't wait. This series is very well written and love is learned and kept. Dragon and human what a great match. I'm glad there are only 7siblings and not 20, I'd never get anything done except read. Can't wait to finish the last three brothers.
I absolutely loved this book Amber and Darcy !melted my heart this was a thrilling adventure an erotic romance that was very exciting and I could not put it down it was fantastic you will not be disappointed reading this book
Okay. I bought this one even before I finished Kyan's book. Since Amber is the only female, and the other books were so well-written, I knew this one had to be great. Totally not disappointed.
This is such a wonderful series, but I must say this has to be my favorite so far. I loved Amber and Darcy’s story. I am praying to the book gods that the dragonettes will have their own series one day 😉
I enjoyed Amber's and Darcy's story very much. I wanted to strangle his Mom however but it did keep the story flowing nicely to have a "villian" to overcome. Can't wait to read Jasper's story next.
Darcy and Amber faced many challenges to be together. Her brothers, his mother and a privileged aristocratic Dragon back with investigators who all conspire to break them up. Great read!!!
Starla Night has done it again!! This is the fourth book I have read in the Onyx Dragon series. Each novel has enchanted me from the beginning. Well worth reading. Once you start reading, you have trouble putting it down and resting your eyes and brain.
This is a story of a very, very dysfunctional family and a shy, verbally abused and misunderstood dragon. I was ready more then once to slap Darcy aside his head. Still I loved it.
I can say I really enjoyed this storyline a female dragon hooked up with a human not your usual Starla did this one good all thou the previous books were great,I feel like I know the familt😊
It’s so hard to try to hide yourself so you can be accepted while also trying to show who you are. And people who double speak drive you crazy!! Love that despite all the obstacles, they believe in each other, find their love, and their fiery HEA! Great addition to the series!!
This book was SUCH fun. There were confusions between dragon and human customs, but there was a whole new twist added and it was unbelievable. I adore the FMC, she's been in the other books, but this was her time to shine and she did.
Boy meets dragon woman. Likes a lot. Boy's mom does not like. Lots of truly irritating things mom tries to do. Fascinating in some regard. Cute couple story.
