This a new to me author and I just thought that this was a good book all the way around. I will be asking my library to order her other books as well if we don't already have them.
I ended up staying up all night to finish this because I wanted to see what Brian and Melanie would do.
To me, this author has pulled off several great topics all the way around and l really liked how she didn't beat around the bush about it.
Haven't you ever made mistakes and then later live to regret them? I know I have many many times.
Sometimes I'm not sure how to go about undoing them. It's why I'm so glad that there's a man named Jesus who if you ask Him He will forgive you and forget what you've done.
Yes, I know. Easier said than done. But if you don't forgive it can sour you on the inside out and make you a bitter person.
This is a romance theme but not as you would normally read. I love that the characters are flawed and not portrayed as perfect. We All Fall Short of the Glory of God.
I have felt like Brian many times. I love his charm and personality and I felt he could be a good friend. His faith astounds me. I want to be like him in that area. There's no way I would denounce Jesus. Not for anyone! He's my best friend and true confidante!!
Melanie, is a cool person. I was almost like her and had three children but it wasn't to be. I'm not sure I could handle three kids. She too has love, compassion and vulnerability. I think that there's some in every one of us. I love that she isn't perfect.
I've been married so long that I probably wouldn't know how to act if I found myself in Melanie's position. She's one strong lady. I admire her for that.
Life is certainly crazy at times. In fact Jesus said that life would never be easy. In some ways, I'm glad it's not easy. We can most certainly learn from it.
You never know from one day to the next what curve ball that life will throw you.
Just like Brian and Melanie. I loved that they were honest with each other.
My grandma used to say "there's someone out there for you" " You just have to find the right one" "Sometimes it takes awhile and others well you'll just have to see what God has in store for you."
Too often we let our past define us on future dealings and we let it blind us for the future.
I loved how the author has snuck some mystery in on us as well which makes the story much more interesting!
I also loved that the way this author writes can mirror our own lives and send messages through her books that God loves us no matter what.
This is a book that you won't want to miss. These characters will enter your mind and then you start thinking that they are real and believable. Their struggles through life will become your struggles and you find yourself praying for them even though they are fictional characters.
I highly recommend this book. You'll laugh, cry and rejoice with Brian and Melanie as they find their way through well, just life.
My thanks goes to JustReads Tour for this awesome book. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

First and foremost, this book is unlike any others in the Christian fiction/romance genre that I have ever read. MOST books in that particular genre tend to steer clear of any type of sexual discussion at all. Maybe a brief hint here or there, but it's certainly not an overwhelming topic anyway. As a Christian reader, I certainly appreciate this. However, if we were to be entirely honest, it's also not very realistic. Even Christians can struggle with these temptations. This book addresses that it a very real way by tackling the issue of pornography. Now, I must admit I was a little shocked by this at first... again, I'm more used to those super clean Christian novels. However, it was discussed in a way that was honest, real and quite frankly that needed to be talked about. I found it really interesting as well at how it was addressed that those types of temptations were not just found in images, but often for women in steamy romance novels too. Because of the content, I can certainly say that it is NOT going to be for everyone, but if you can get around that idea, it truly is a wonderful story.

Melanie and Brian are two very broken and imperfect people who God brought together in His time. The story- though very fast paced- took place over the course of a few years, jumping ahead a few months every so often. Through this time, we see the struggles but we also see them learning to love and trust... we see the power of God's grace and His power in helping us to overcome temptations--- whatever those may be. There was a little bit of mystery, which I really enjoyed. I did have an inkling on who the bad guy might have been that wasn't far off, and had my suspicions about other sketchy characters throughout, but it did keep me wondering until it was revealed in the end.

There was a lot going on throughout this story, but isn't that life? Overall, I think this was a very interesting read and one that I would certainly recommend.

This book was definitely different from most of the Christian fiction that I'm used to reading but I enjoyed it. It's not really known to see books that deal with issues of pornography in a real but delicate way. I love how the author put it out there that temptations come in many forms and not just videos and I like how she dealt with the issue of a wanting to stop. Accountability goes a long way.
Brian and Melanie are two broken and imperfect individuals trying to handle life and all it throws at them especially Melanie dealing with three little children. When life brings them together and love is thrown into the picture, it all seems so perfect until life throws a curve at them and they struggle to deal with the issues that come up. I like that they were real with each other. It was definitely an enjoyable read

All in Good Time is a delightful, heart-warming read with substance and depth. It asks some important questions and sprinkles in enough suspense to keep you turning pages until you reach the very end.

This is the first novel I’ve read by Carolyn Astfalk, but it certainly won’t be the last. Astfalk’s writing style is incredibly engaging. She pulls you into the characters’ lives so deeply that you will laugh, cry, and celebrate with them all along the way! I especially loved her portrayal of Melanie, a widowed mother of three. Melanie’s struggles were relatable, and there were many heart-wrenching and laugh-out-loud moments that endeared me to Melanie and her family. Each child had a unique personality that enriched the story, making them more than just cute side characters.

Astfalk did a wonderful job handling the slow-burn romance, tackling some relevant, difficult issues with grace and care. She also brought to life realistic, flawed characters that the reader will fall in love with and remember long after they’ve closed the book.

All in Good Time is a thought-provoking read that addresses the difference between real versus superficial love, the struggle of overcoming past mistakes, and how faith ties into it all.

Good, clean, romantic fun with some unexpected edge-of-the-seat moments! The characters are vivid, lovably-flawed folks who fit right in with the people you deal with every day, giving All in Good Time a very current and realistic vibe. We need more stories like this! Melanie is a widowed mom of 3 little kids. She's completely given up on ever finding love again, then meets Mr. Perfect--or is he? Throw in a creepy stalker, a kidnapping attempt, a cancer survival story, and some hard-hitting moral issues, and you've got what we've come to expect from Carolyn Astfalk: a brilliant and enthralling novel. Another winner! Keep 'em coming, Mrs. Astfalk!

"Sometimes life's surprises slowed you down. Like every ten-minutes-of-five disaster Brian had endured. And sometimes they stopped you in your tracks. But sometimes.... sometimes they exceeded your deepest hopes and wildest dreams."

3.5 stars.
This is the first book by Carolyn Astfalk that I have read and it addressed quite a range of issues, from grief of losing a spouse, chaos of rearing multiple small children, hidden sins buried deep in our hearts and minds, struggle with medical illness and treatment, to hope and faith that can help endure and triumph over all these issues even at the rock bottom of life. The author's writing style took me a little while to get used to but the characters are so real and true-to-life. Melanie, the single mom of three, is haggard from chasing after her wild motley crew of children but she oozes compassion, love, and vulnerability. Brian is charming and quite likable but has a hidden secret that unfortunately rears its ugly head. I really liked that Brian is unapologetic about his faith and shares about Jesus even when he's at his lowest and feels like he's surrounded by darkness.

I received a copy of the book from the author/publisher via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Very real book about single mother Melanie and her struggles to raise three children alone and feeling lonely and overwhelmed. Melanie meets Brian and as they start to date; temptations and more struggles come to the surface.

This book discusses pornography, alcohol, and some other adult themes. I haven't read anything by this author, and I was hoping for something more "lighthearted" and not as "heavy". It was still well written with interesting characters and believable struggles especially for Christians trying to follow God's commandments. There was also a little bit of drama and mystery. Themes about God's love and faith were also a big part of this book.

I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

Can you say “block out 18 hours, because you won’t want to put this down”? I started it on a Friday and just. kept. going. (The dog, it should be noted, kept going with me.)

Astfalk has that effect on me, though. Interestingly, she’s a Catholic author, and her books are very Theology of the Body focused, BUT YOU MIGHT NEVER KNOW IT.

That’s the part I love.

You can just pick up this book, read it, love it, and know that (a) no smut, (b) morals are in line with you, (c) darn good plot.

Predictable? Well, it’s a romance. So, yeah. It’s probably going to go a certain direction.

How it gets there, though, is all the fun.

The author’s smooth writing technique and her original content kept me turning the pages. Having never been responsible for three rambunctious children on my own or otherwise, I had a difficult time relating to that situation. And I had to convince myself that a handsome and popular young man really could remain a virgin while addicted to porn. But those are two of the reasons that this latest novel by Ms. Astfalk held my attention. I had to find out how Melanie would handle those kids and still have the patience to handle Brian, even when his problems grew in number. I received an ARC of this book but was not obligated to leave a review.

I don't read much contemporary romance, but I'm so glad I got a copy of All in Good Time. This book is so well-written! The way Astfalk describes the scenes with Melanie, the young widow juggling the demands of raising three young children on her own, and her growing relationship with Brian, are so realistic. The parenting scenes brought me back to the days of being a stay-at-home mom with four children ages 6, 5, 2 and newborn. Melanie and Brian develop a sweet romance but they have real-life issues, things that aren't often delved into with Christian fiction. The book was easy to read but had some depth and a few twists and turns in the plot that I didn't see coming. I had a hard time putting it down, it was well worth the read!

I didn't know what to expect from this book, and I certainly didn't expect to be pulled in from the first chapter and come to care for the main characters so much! I don't read many romances, but this is more than the typical boy-meets-girl. It has so many layers, some of them quite poignant, and deals with grief, cancer, and the scourge of our society, pornography, in a tasteful yet realistic way. Having had chemo for lymphoma twice, I commend the author for showing realstically how the diagnosis and treatments affect the patient in every way. I don't want to say too much and give away spoilers, so I'll just say if you like to read clean romance that shows the power and wisdom of God's timing, I can pretty much guarantee you'll come to love Brian and Melanie and Matthew and Kevin and Penny as much as I have! Highly recommended!

Trigger warnings: mild descriptions of pornography (including child), cancer diagnosis, death of a spouse (before the story), martial struggles,
While the book was well-written, I struggled with it. I was pulled out of the story several times by not knowing the meaning of certain words (genuflect, nascent, vacuous), and had to stop and look them up. And, while pornography was depicted in a negative light, I struggled with it being part of the main storyline. And, with having two family members recently diagnosed with cancer, I would have liked to have known it was also a big part of the storyline before going in. Overall, it was a very heavy book.

It’s amazing how little words woven together so delicately and beautifully can expose a dark and evil industry. The temptations and wounds of pornography are rarely explored in Christian fiction, and Astfalk has given it realistic and likable characters with victories and shortcomings to walk readers down this all too prevalent path. I admire Astfalk’s bravery and obedience for writing such a story, one necessary for today… no, a prayer for today: Create in us a clean heart, O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirit within us.

This was one of those books I requested in the middle of a desperate moment of: "I want to read something new and nothing on my shelf will satisfy." There were a couple of parts I *may* have skimmed over as I read this one, but over-all, the over arching story line was one of redemption, and I enjoyed it!

There were so many facets of this story that I'm going to review this one by each major theme . . . so here goes nothing :D

FAMILY:
The Lombardi family is absolutely precious! You meet a mother who is struggling with caring for three children after the death of her husband, and you meet three adorable little ones with big personalities. Each child was different and unique, and I loved the life that Carolyn Astfalk brought into the family. The antics of the children were just like any "normal" children growing up -- rambunctious, sweet, hysterical at times, and at other times they brought you to your wits end. But overall, you loved them completely. The many bathroom runs, awkward comments, and funny sayings are too true to life -- and it was all written about with grace and humour, not in a complaining sort of way.

Brian completely accepted the children, and loved them each for who they were. He sought to befriend them without overstepping his bounds, and that made him all the more likeable. He didn't try to change the way Melanie had parented them, but he did step in at times to help her, and it was perfectly balanced.

RELIGION:
Both Brian Perella and Melanie Lombardi are Catholics, and it was interesting to learn more about the Catholic religion. There were a lot of mentions of "Hail Mary", of going to Mass, and of rosaries and other things associated with Catholics. I am a reformed baptist, so it was definitely different than what I'm used to =)

I appreciated the way the children were welcomed into the church service, and neither Brian nor Melanie seemed to be embarrassed by their lack of ability to sit still. They didn't just push them away into a nursery somewhere, but kept them in the pew with them and taught them.

ROMANCE:
The romance between Brian and Melanie was subtle at first, and progressed as their relationship grew. They sought very hard to set a good example to the children, and the author did an admirable job of making the relationship believable without glossing over temptations, and yet without giving too much detail.

The ups and downs of their relationship was sweet to read through, and I appreciated the way each person honestly struggled with temptation about the other ones. There was one incident when Brian stayed over at Melanie's home because of car issues, in a completely platonic way, although Melanie wants more than him merely sleeping on a couch, and tells him so. The self control they both practice and exhibit was refreshing -- there are way too many books where the characters don't even try to practice abstinence, and just act whichever way the wind blows.

There were also mentions of kissing, although nothing was described in too much detail.

MYSTERY:
The mystery aspect of this was well written, and I appreciated the various twists and turns. I guessed who it was about mid-way through, but had no idea what the motive would have been. When it all came out, I was amazed at how Astfalk connected dots and relationships and . . . wow! The suspense kept me wanting to read, even when I was already up way to late and had an early morning :D

REDEMPTION:
This is a story about two very broken people, and their struggles to live pure lives. Both have struggled sexually; Melanie is drawn to heavy romance novels, and Brian has struggled with pornography since his father introduced him to it when he was younger. These are heavy topics, and I feel like these are topics that are often avoided because of the delicate way they must be handled. We can't show too much, while at the same time we don't want to gloss over it and make the issues less than what they are.

Carolyn Astfalk struck a perfect balance of showing the evil vileness of the sins, without giving too much detail. Both characters realized that they were struggling, and they both ought to do better and to fight their sin natures. The regrets they each have because of what they've been through are detailed, and, while heartbreaking and uncomfortable to read, it's the reality of many people in our culture. There were a couple parts I skimmed over dealing with these issues, simply because I wasn't comfortable reading them, but oveall the author handled them well.

PARENTAL WARNINGS:
I would say this was definitely a novel for older, more mature readers. I mentioned skimming over some parts -- not because they are "bad" topics, but merely because they went a little more in-depth than I personally care for. This is absolutely a personal issue, though! There were mentions and mild descriptions of pornography -- in a very negative light, of heavy romance novels -- again, in a negative light, and there were a lot of scenes where drinking played a big role. To my recollection, there was only one case of intoxication, mentioned very mildly, but it was there. There was kissing before marriage, and both characters honestly struggled with temptations regarding each other. There was also talk of divorce, which I personally don't agree with.

I was very thankful to be gifted a copy of this book to review from JustRead Tours.

This is a story about relationships, especially the most important one, how to remain faithful to God when life gets hard. In a nutshell, we will stumble, we may fall; yet, with God’s Grace, we can pick ourselves up and keep trying to be the best version of ourselves.

Thank you in advance to JustRead Publicity Tours, Multa Verba publishers, and the author Carolyn Astfalk for providing a review copy. A positive review was not required, all words and thoughts are my own.

Told from dual POVs (Melanie and Brian), “All in Good Time” is a Christian Romance/Christian Fiction book about recently widowed mom, Melanie Lombardi. With her three rambunctious children, she struggles with the simple and mundane day-to-day tasks. Romance is definitely not on the horizon or radar. She is still wearing the wedding ring from her marriage to David Lombardi.

That is until she and Brian Perella meet on the sidelines of a little league game. For a while he had resigned himself to being an uncle, never a dad. He is resigned to be the coach for the kids and interact that way.

Not only does her shy young daughter take to Brian, but Melanie is stunned that he sticks around her willingly, knowing about her children. He even starts coming over for dinner, fixing things around the house, and taking them on excursions.

All that changes when Brian receives an unexpected medical diagnosis. He turns to temptation after dumping Melanie. But, it isn’t his temptation that causes the break-up; he doesn’t want to burden her with his health.

Yet, he knows Melanie and the kids are in danger from a stalker.

The tag lines and summary for this story grabbed me right away. At first it was a bit of a slow starter for me. Then it took off and I couldn’t stop reading it. The first night I left off on chapter 31(52 total + epilogue) and only stopped to go to bed. It was that engaging and interesting.

While deemed fiction and romance, this also had a slight element of suspense to it which I believe added more interest (for me) to it. In reading it, up until the conclusion, I honestly had the wrong idea about who the stalker was. It did make sense as to who it was and the “why”. The stalker issue could’ve gone with either story/plot line.

This isn’t a “normal” Christian read as it had some sex talk. I say that not because I have a problem with it, but there are some readers who might have issues with it. Also, most of the “clean” Christian reads I’ve reviewed shy away from that talk as well.

In addition, Astfalk tackles another tricky subject – pornography. Again, not in line with other Christian books I’ve read. Even more so they don’t have one of the main characters “consuming” it. Yet, Astfalk tackles this with a candid reality.

Readers will have to pay close attention to this plot device as it weaves its way through the story to an unexpected conclusion.

I found the story to be an easy read with short-medium length chapters. For an eBook, it is rather long, but the story flowed quite quickly.

This is a beautiful story with themes of tested faith, second chances, forgiveness, and redemption. It might be more geared to those of the Catholic faith as those are the stronger themes in it, however I am sure it would appeal to those who enjoy Christian based reads as well.

When I first returned to the church in the late 1980’s I went to the Christian book store and really wish there had been a book like this back them. I am not the target audience for this book, but it is so masterfully written I could not put it down. I read through my lunch two days in a row, and almost missed my stop on the bus home because I was so engrossed in the story. It is literally a page turner. This was the third novel by Carolyn Astfalk that I have read this year, I have also read her short stories in the collections, Secrets: Visible & Invisible 7 Amazing Stories and Gifts Visible & Invisible 8 Christmas Stories for Teens. His story is just being released as I write my review. And I think it is an excellent read.

This story is in part about relationships. In part about a young widow and her three children. A young man. Family. Temptations. There are issues of pornography. Illness, and even the other type of ‘romance novels’. The main characters are Brian Perella, a young man who has sworn off dating. His plan is to remain the fun uncle. Brian works in IT and after discovering some extreme pornography on a coworker’s computer, he needs to testify in court against the man, but it also brings back temptations he thought he was past. Then he meets Melanie, she is young, has three children and is a widow. She was not looking for romance, and never expected it. The two grow closer and closer together. And when life through Brian a curve ball he wants to save Melanie more hurt and heartache, so he breaks off the relationship. But it is something they both regret. But neither knows how to undo.

The book deals with a lot of serious issues. And most of them are counter cultural in this day and age. Carolyn’s appreciation for Saint John Paul II’s Theology of The Body is evident throughout the book. The book gives a great representing of trying to live for God. And That we all make mistakes. It is a romance but not in the traditional sense of the word. In many ways the story reminds me of Madeleine L’Engle’s Chronos books. It is a great Catholic novel, and excellent Christian fiction. The book gives excellent examples of living for God, and trusting even when going through trials.

An excellent read, that I highly recommend.

My Thoughts on All in Good Time
This is such a good book. I really enjoyed reading this book and could really relate to Melanie and her highs and lows of parenting. Though I’m not a widow I have had my days of lots of little children and the embarrassment and hilarity that can come from that.

While it is said many times that this is a Catholic Christian fiction title I found it to just be a good book. It has a good solid theme and nothing really questionable though it does tackle some really hard topics. These include pornography, widowhood, parenting, single parenting, and addiction. As a Christian, I did not find anything in this book that made me think that I needed to put the book down and stop reading.

There is an underlying mystery that works its way into the book almost without you noticing. It’s a threat and it comes more and more to the forefront.

I really enjoyed this book and would read it again. It kept me entertained, was not grip the seat suspense, and had a nice romantic element within it as well. Plus who wouldn’t love the antics of three young children that make you shake your head but also sympathize because you’ve been there!

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.

This story grabbed my attention on the first page—then seemed to stall for much of the first half of the book. Ms. Astfalk dropped several telling and well-placed hints, though, of intrigue to come or I might have relegated the story to slow motion and lackluster.
But, OH! then it took off, and my how it did! Like a rocket!
Brian Perella had sworn off dating and then basically dared God to bring him a wife. The last thing Melanie Lombardi was looking for was a new husband. But once they realized their shared interest and began to spend time together, the attraction grew.
But Ms. Astfalk reignites past secrets—both Brian and Melanie—and puts Brian through the wringer with a harsh diagnosis. Their reactions were ugly and so real it was hard to read; I wanted to throttle both of them! The heart sometimes is our own worst enemy. I applaud Ms. Astfalk braving the topic of Brian’s temptation, something I’ve not seen in fiction before.
The twist at the end was completely unexpected and utterly harrowing! Overall a great read with likeable characters and believable circumstances.

Welcome to the last week of the month! Hopefully you will have an easy week filled with family and friends. I have to work a couple days but hope to read a few more books before the end of the month. Today I’m reviewing All in Good Time. This book was very different from what I thought it would be and talked about some pretty serious issues that surprised me.

Melanie is a young mother of three and is struggling to keep it all together after her husband’s sudden death. Her life is so hectic a romance is not even on the radar for her. Brian has decided that he will no longer date and will just be the fun uncle, until he meets Melanie.

When I first started this second chance romance novel I thought it would be just another feel good “clean” read. This story has suspense (a stalker), discussions about sex and pornography. This was totally outside the lines for most of the Christian books I have read. Author Carolyn Astfalk pushes the limits with this story while keeping the readers engaged. I’m not Catholic but this is geared more towards that religion, though I didn’t mind. It really was story of second chances and trust and finding redemption in yourself.

I had never gone out of my way to read Christian fiction before but @justreadtours has a great selection if you prefer that genre! Thanks for this review copy.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Both Brian and Melanie are finished with love, dating, and all goes with it. But when they met at her childs baseball game, well, there could be sparks there! But even after spending time together, nothing could happen. There was just too so much baggage.

I quickly fell in love the Lombardi family. They quickly wormed their way into my heart. Melanie was a really good mom but was struggling with raising her three rambunctious kids after the death of her husband. Her day to day life was totally changed and dealing with her kids alone was certainly a challenge. I liked the subtle way their romance starts, then develops more throught out the story. Their journey was not so easy, and this author does a good job of dealing with the issues they went through. But I have to say, though All in Good Time is labeled in several Christian categories, its a bit more details in several of the scenes that I feel should be in Christian fiction. I did like the touch of mystery that was weaved through the story. I encourage you to check out this book for your own reading.

In All in Good Time, Carolyn Astfalk immerses readers into the lives of Brian and Melanie. From the chaos of a single mom raising three young children to challenges of work, health, and family, I was right there in the middle of it all.

There’s so much happening in this book—romance, family challenges, temptations, and a mystery—that it rarely lags. The mystery portion is a slow build up until the end of the story when things really pick up.

While this story is told from the members of the Catholic church, the truths are important for every member of the body of Christ. I appreciated the author’s honest depiction of temptations, sin, and the characters’ struggles to overcome them.

Throughout the book, Astfalk addresses topics that are often avoided in Christian fiction (specifically sexual temptation and pornography) while emphasizing different avenues for avoiding and overcoming the challenges. No, the characters aren’t automatically rid of those temptations. Sometimes they give in and have to wrestle with the conviction, guilt, and shame, but God’s grace and forgiveness is more than we deserve. And that is the heart of All in Good Time.

This is the first book by author at I have read and quite enjoyed it. I could relate to some the issues addressed in this story. I was a single mom of two kids with social emotional and behavioral issues so I know how daunting it to raise rambunctious children alone and though I wasn't widowed, I was divorced and abandoned and I gave up on dating for two reasons. To protect my kids from having men walk in and out their lives and to keep myself and my heart pure and protected as God has commanded and wait for God to bring me the right man but I haven't been as lucky as Melanie to find someone yet. Although neither her or Brain were looking for love or someone to date,God brought them together. However, they faced some hardships that threatened the tear them apart. I've struggled with chronic illnesses for a while and have dealth with family and friends who faced cancer, some have overcome but others were lost to it. Being single for so long know the temptation that can arrise. These temptations are address in this story. This story also has mystery, trails and tribulations, faith and hope.

Author Carolyn Astfalk has written a book that has all the feels and at times can be hard to read because of the tough subjects discussed within its pages. There is a lot going on in the story, including the struggle of being a single mom of three kids, temptations and continuing to overcome addiction, unexpected health challenges, falling in love, and even a bit of suspense to add into the mix. Astfalk addresses these difficult subjects that aren’t easy to bring up, especially in Christian fiction, but she does so beautifully. This story is about struggles, but it’s also about trusting in God and the power to overcome them. A beautiful, touching, and thought provoking story that is an excellent addition to Christian fiction.

I jumped right into the book as soon as I received it. The book was slow reading in the beginning, but it picked up rather quickly. All in Good Time by Carolyn Astfalk is a strong read, with lots of strong topics such a pornography, Widow, being a single parent.

Melanie is a Widow and a Single Mom raising 3 young Children. She meets Brian at a Little League Game. Melanie isn't exactly thinking about dating, but when she meets Brian that may all change. Brian has sworn off any new dating relationships, but starts to reconsider once meeting Melanie. Brian has SECRETS from his past that might hinder a relationship from going forward. What will become of Brian and Melanie? Will their secrets unravel a potential relationship? Grab a copy of the book, you will not be disappointed.

Carolyn Astfalk is a new to me author. I feel she did a GREAT job in bringing in STRONG topics for a Christian Fiction book. Her writing style is one that keeps the reader intrigued and leaves the reader thinking. I am looking forward to reading more books by Carolyn Astfalk.

You never know what to expect when you pick up a book by an author your have never heard of. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this highly engaging book.

Carolyn has written a very real book. Some people might be bothered by the “realness”. The brothers talk to each other like brothers might, and Brian is dealing with an issue that is very prevalent in this day and age.

Melanie has her own issues that she confesses to Brian that I never saw coming, but an issue I can definitely relate to.

And then Brian’s diagnosis is so heart breaking and I understand the desicion he made but I felt Melanie’s pain.

We don’t find out much about this stalker for a long time. The reader knows something is up for Brian and Melanie don’t seem to be worried about it.

If you are looking a book that is real and deals with real issues I highly recommend this one.

I opened this book hoping for a tale full of hope and second chances, which All in Good Time does have, but it's overwhelmed by sickness and addictions, really bringing the entire novel to depressing levels. The engaging children break up the drama, and there is some mystery sprinkled throughout, with a suspenseful ending, that saved this novel for me.

Brian and Melanie are such thoughtful characters, but their situations were hard to read, which made the story lag quite a bit for me. I was relieved that there was a satisfying, though predicable, ending but I still couldn't shake the shadow that All in Good Time draped over me the entire time I was reading it.

Overall a good story, and decent writing, but be prepared to be depressed with deep subject matter that could bring your own mood down.

*I have reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Multa Verba Publishing through JustRead Tours. All opinions are completely honest, and my own.

This seems like a good book but I stopped reading after too many mentions of mass, for me anyway since I don't have the same beleifs and didn't realize the faith content in it was Catholic. I stopped at 10 percent but I'm sure that other readers will enjoy this novel. What I did read was enjoyable.

The kids are super cute, sweet, life like, and their actions are so very real with their 'nothings' that I have seen when my siblings act up.

All In Good Time has an adorable cover, and enjoyable story that just isn't for me since I don't agree with all of the characters faith.

I received a complimentary ebook copy of this book from JustReadTours, I did not have to give a review, all the thoughts are my own.

I was surprised at the deep themes that were included in this story! I will include a trigger warning on this one, since it deals with a character who has been addicted to pornography, though is doing his best (with God's help) to over come it. I thought that the author did an excellent job of dealing with subjects like pornography addiction, widowhood, and raising young children as a single parent. I could relate to the feelings of embarrassment that Melanie has, as most parents will! I enjoyed getting to know Melanie, Brian, and the kids as they grew into an unlikely family. This is an excellent story to pick up!

I really enjoyed this book! This is a great story about suffering and healing, and failing and redemption. Brian is a hard working, caring uncle who also happens to be single. Melanie is a young widow of three exuberant young kids. There’s way more to this story than a typical meet, fall in love and get married story. There are a couple unexpected twists that involve some issues that are relevant to things going on around us today. Even if you don’t typically read this type of genre, I highly recommend that you take a chance on this one.
