Sydney Bell just transferred to an elite high school. Her plan: achieve one goal in her senior year. Not attract the attention of a rich boy with a reputation.
Sydney is sure about guys like Parker. The wealthy and entitled ones. Players. This one hates the way she looks at him.
Parker Prescott is determined to prove her wrong. He chases Sydney. She pushes him away until she can no longer fight her feelings. The ice starts to melt. Her defenses lower the more she learns about him. He’s not just another player. Like her, Parker has issues he’s dealing with. But she’s still so afraid to let him in. And Parker fears he may never truly win her heart.
Can Sydney accept her intense feelings and trust that Parker won’t hurt her, and will she be there for him when he needs her the most?
I'm a writer of contemporary romance, suspense, and fantasy. I live in Rhode Island with my hubby. Aside from writing, I enjoy blogging, reading, listening to music and watching movies.
So bloody dreary i kept falling asleep, had to force myself to get to 25% mark, then gave up, Sydney was so desperate for Preston anyone would think she had a mink lined pussy. There's playing hard to get and there's boring as fuck, Sydney was boring AF...........DNF 25%
I loved it! These two crazy kids and their love story. Parker and Sydney. Love them both as individuals and together as a couple. Took a while to get there but when it did it was explosive. Lover's angst. Family angst. Friendship angst. Teenagers being teenagers. Such a great story. But loads of good happy times too. A couple of minor things that could have been lessened or changed but it didn't change my overall feelings about this beautiful love story. One thing I would change is the cover. This is a YA interracial contemporary romance. The cover looks more like adult romance as in they look like the same couple but maybe about 15 or 20 years later. Wished they looked a little younger. But again, it didn't take away how I felt about the book or my rating. I'm wondering if book 2 will be a continuation of their story or the potential of another couple hinted at in the book. Either way, I'm here for it all. lol I highly highly recommeded.

Breathtaking, extraordinary love story.
It seems that anytime that I read a book by SHANE MORGAN; I fall in love with the story, the characters. How can you not? She makes it impossible not to. MAYBE was not any different, and you will find yourself falling in love after only couple of pages. I did. Every page had me craving for more of the story, and had me wondering what is going to happen next. MAYBE is one of those books that you will keep reading up until the end, and when you do, you will be craving for more of the story. The only reason that it took me long time to read it because of classes, homework, papers and work. I looked forward to it every night, wanting to see what would happen with Sydney and Parked next. I loved all of SHANE MORGAN books that I have read, which is most of them. However, I feel as if MAYBE is one of my favorites, at least for right now. MAYBE was recently published and I am already looking forward to the next one.
Sydney and Parker’s relationship was different and that was what I enjoyed about it. At first, I was not sure if I liked Parker, I could not figure out what I thought of him. I felt as he was being too pushy with Sydney, but at the same time, I liked how he would not give up. As book progressed, I saw that he was not doing just because she rejected, and it seemed as he genuinely cared about her and it is why he would not let go. I could not help but hope that eventually Sydney would see that as well. I knew how much she cared about him as well, even if she tried to deny it at first. As their relationship progressed through the book, I loved the fact that the two of them were always there for each other, no matter what. I saw how much the two of them progressed through the story. I loved the descriptions, the emotions in the book. I felt, as I was right there, along with Parker and Sydney. I could imagine myself being there. It felt real.
The story, the characters was not only what I loved about this story. Look at that breathtaking cover, how can you not want to pick this book up? I have been reading SHANE MORGAN books for years, and I am so glad I came across her books. SHANE MORGAN is a type of writer that I want to be one day. I would highly recommend picking up MAYBE . It is a story that you will fall in love with, and the one that will stay with you long after.
It was delightful.

3.00 Stars. (BW/WM). Kindle Unlimited Edition e-book. Unnecessary drama/ angst. A storyline that moved slowly and without any interesting or meaningful action-just the annoying indecision of the heroine. The story's insecure wishy-washy heroine, Sidney Bell, is a resent transfer to the academy; but she has a cousin and a few other acquaintances who help make her assimilation to the new school easier. The story's sincere, faithful and persistent hero, Parker Prescott, is wealthy, popular and a star athlete at the academy who is immediately attracted to Sidney and who openly pursues a relationship with her. Sidney is attracted to Parker; however, she dismisses his attention as his attempt to make her another of his groupies and she fears he'll loose interest if he successes in having her succumb to his charm and sexual prowess. Over 60% about 350 pages of the book deals with Sidney’s yen and yang about entering into a romantic relationship with Parker; even after she does, another 30% or 145 pages of the book deals Sidney's jealousy and distrust and with issues with family and friends. The last 80 pages include a 4 or 5 year time jump rushes to tie a loose ends or problems. In a few pages, Parker and Sidney reconcile with parents and friends, Parker convinces Sidney that she is the love of his life and Sidney openly acknowledges that Parker is the love of her life. Sidney is an annoying character bordering on dislikable and although you can’t help but like and root for Parker’s happiness, you can't help wondering why the author took this long meandering road to get to this conclusion.
Phew!!! that was a handful, mouthwatering and beautiful story…
WOW…. I am so happy I pushed thru this story and finished it. First time reading MS. Morgan and I know now it will not be the last time. My goodness what a sweetness!!!! Parker and Sydney are the true embodiment of high school sweetheart to college sweetheart and have their full HEA. They have surpassed whatever life had thrown at them and I was there for it. Parker was everything, from bae to alpha to BDE to be the MAN and Sydney although annoying at first, she was right there with Parker and good for him in all sense. People if you feel down, or lost or not happy read this, because it’s what’s needed. If you feel happy and overjoyed, read this, because it’s what’s needed. If you feel nostalgic, adventurous, read this, it’s what’s needed. And if you feel romantic, love, hopeful, read this, it’s what’s needed. Overall, anything you feel or you need to get away to feel better comes down to this: YOU need to READ THIS!!!! ITS The only thing NEEDED!!!!
I am so ecstatic that I have this book a chance.Every one do not hesitate to read this.the characters, the storyline, everything about this book is perfect.Mrs Morgan says this is first novel of this size, but I assure you won't be able to yell.I read a lot and this is one of the best and we'll written books I have read our of the last 15 or 20. No grammar, spelling, punctuation problems.she really took her time and did an awesome job. You will fall in love with Parker and Sydney and their circle of friends. Even when you get frustrated you remind yourself of the characters ages and it makes complete sense.READ THIS.IT'S A MUST!!!
When I first started this story of was with the feeling I going to get a lot of young people drama and a whole lot of angst. But instead what I got was a a really sweet romance, filled with just enough events to be a good read. The writer gives us a likable couple but I have to.admit that Sidney the heroin was just a tad bit annoying. I mean this girl ran hot and cold for such while that you almost abandon the story. This was good writing and gives.a.solid.showing but I feel the story.is not over as.well as with their friends. Hopefully we don't have to wait long for the next installment.
This was so good. Wow! Very sweet. That Parker is wise beyond his young years and it was refreshing to read. I have to admit Sydney got on my last nerve. I love a bit of a cat and mouse game and for a girl to hold off and not be to be so eager over a guy, but man she took it to a whole other level. It was frustrating at times. When she finally stopped being mean for no good reason, let down her walls and open up to Parker, I really began to enjoy her. Going through typical teenage drama that grew into a beautiful young adult love story. I loved it.
3.5 Stars for this very sweet bwwm YA. Parker knew from the moment he saw Sydney she was the one. Sydney however, was not impressed. Although Parker is everything most girls want and dream of he is QB of their high school football team, really smart, gorgeous and “Richie Rich” rich, he had to put in some effort to win Sydney’s affections. This story is young love at its best. Definitely, low on the steam and high on the sugar. Great read!
People think because a person is so young, they do not know what they want. If they have a mature thinking about this thing called love. When love appears and they can recognize it in its true form. Then the couple is blessed with an everlasting love. Fortunately the H/H in this book had a such a love. This was a most satisfying read. Believe me, this is one you would like to keep in your Library.
This was my first read by Morgan and it was ok. The drama level was not too bad. Definitely a young young adult book. Parker just didn't seem realistic too me just my opinion. Sydney was........... sometimes she would be ok but sometimes she would do childish but she is 17. Not sure if I'll read more by Morgan
If you are a hopeless romantic, like me. This is the book for you. Shane is a new author for me and I fell I love with the cover, went in blind and just fell so hard for Parker and Sydney. It’s all the first you need with a book, kisses and passion and feels. There are no maybes just go get this one!!
I liked the story, but I think there was too much sex too soon. Also, it would have been nice if Sydney or Nia had at least applied to an HBCU. Wealthy backs do attend HBCUs, and we do actually have some good schools. Anyway the story was sweet. I liked Sydney's and Parker's chemistry and his persistance.
I enjoyed this journey with Sydney and Parker. This was a cute YA story. Parker met his match when he laid eyes on Sydney and there was no giving up on what he wanted. Sydney had some issues that she needed to work on. She was a tough nut to crack, but Parker was up for the challenge.
I'm not one for high school stories because some of the drama is just foolish.. this story did not disappoint. Some of the drama was foolish. Sydney irked me because her trust issues had no real reason. I wish more could have been said about her mom though. There are a few strings that were left hanging but overall a good story
I just love thier story. It’s so exzilrating🥰💯 I wish there were more Parkers out there. The only thing that upset me is when they kept the secret from Dylan and Parker I don’t won’t to spoil this beautiful love story so please give this author a chance Me myself praise 11 💯⭐️
This is a beautiful and pure story. I just couldn't put it down! I started and finished this book in 2 weeks. I also learned so much from Shane and the way she writes and the lessons her character learned.
I enjoy how the author was able to bring the main characters together with love, support, protection and gaining each other’s trust. This was a well written book and I will read the next one thank you
Parker’s endless love for Sydney is absolutely breathtaking. I hope to find this type of love. He always protected her and she always supported him. Truly the perfect combination.
This story was so beautiful. From how they met each other, the way Parker pursued Sydney, to the ups and downs of their relationship, even the family.problems, it just all worked well. Kudos to this author!!!!
This book made me shed happy tears. Maybe it's because of how well written the Hero was, and also maybe because of how proud i was of the heroine for conquering her insecurities and evolving beautifully. This might just be one my favourite romance novels ever <3
I enjoyed this story and really loved the chemistry between Sydney & Parker. The buildup and growth in their relationship was perfectly paced. I also liked that there were not any drawn out sex scenes. I would love to read another novel about them as mature adults.
