A superior collection of Holmesian pastiches, this book shows a marked improvement over its predecessor, as the authors start hitting their respective strides. The stories are: -
1. "The Affair of the Wretched Flesh" by Joshua Reynolds: a sharp and suspenseful story that successfully mixes horror & mystery, while achieving a crossover.
2. "The Problem of the Western Mail" by I.A. Watson: A brilliant locked-room mystery.
3. "The Case of the Missing Engine" by Bernadette Johnson: Another good compact mystery.
4. "The Last Deposit" by I.A. Watson: Brilliant as well as poignant, this story is worthy of multiple reads.
5. "The Adventure of the Phantom Raiders" by Andrew Salmon: Wonderful story that mixes navy and action in a manner that would have warmed Sir ACD himself.

The brief 'Afterword' from Ron Fortier is frank, brief, and cheering, since it promises more volumes in this series.

Highly Recommended.
