Gets better as it goes. I learned to appreciate Rogers’ no-nonsense style, one step removed from trip reports. His matter-of-fact-ness also lends itself to one of my favorite things about reading 20+ year-old outdoor books - you get to learn about gear common in other times. I’d recommend this book.
The author took a sea kayak all along the Pacific Coast from Alaska to Mexico. His photos are quite limited, but the colorful text portray the adventure of exploring the coast that is off the beaten path.
I loved the chapters when he was in Alaska and Canada. Though as he moved south I sort of lost interest. Not sure why but the adventures seemed less magical and more mundane.
