Riley Paige #14

I don’t know what happened with this book, but the author copped out....it is a very lazy story! This is the 14the in the series and I gave all the previous ones 4 or 5 stars.....but this one.....is cheaply written...like the author just did not care?
It has no real depth but a few warmed over thoughts from previous books.....and the killer is literally pulled out of a hat in the last chapter.....no subtle clues...,nothing...and his motivation makes no sense at all.
The characters are weakly developed.
I will try the next book, but if this is a downward trend of this series....then I will give up.
I dunno know how to explain it.....the story just has no depth....it’s.....shallow and cheap?

I truly enjoy all Riley Page books! She is a skillful FBI agent and flawed parent... like most working parents at some times, right?

Definitely the weakest of the series so far. Not as suspenseful, and I didn't really enjoy the new characters introduced or the story. Rare for me to dislike one of Blake Pierce's books! I'll keep on reading, though. Really enjoy this author overall!

It was sad that they thought it was the cop dad that was the murder when at fact it wasn't at all. From a little town how could there be a killer on the run killing people. Who was the killer? No on knew who he was. There was a family killed ten years ago. They thought it was the same person that killed the family. But it wasn't the same man. The cop dad told how the killed from ten years ago went to see him before he killed himself. So there was someone new out there. They thought it was this man that was fixing homes. But still was wasn't that guy. With the FBI coming out all this way to slove this case wasn't going to be easy. But they did what they had to do. In the time they came to rushville wasn't going to be a good one. There was two people died and a man on the run or we believe it but it turn out the little boy that was a paperboy his brother was the one, but how sure are we that it was Brandon that killed the two people and try to hurt the cop Sam. But it wasn't easy to find out the turth and why Brandon was the killer how he had a liking or somewhat with the other killer 10 years ago but was he becoming a mad man and getting revenge ot just doing this because in a small town no one would cared or find out. But Sam the cop did want to find out so that when the FBI came out to tge town and help Sam slove both Cass one from ten years ago anf one present so if I gave any spoilers I'm sorry. It way to easy to find out that it was a kid not a grown up there yoy have u it people this story was to good to not stop reading.

When a local man, Gareth Ogden, is murdered brutally with a single swift blow of a hammer to his head, the small quiet town of Rushville is shocked.
Local cops Samantha Kuehling and Dominic Wolfe are assigned to the case. From the outset, Sam believes that this is same killer who murdered the Bonnett family 10 years ago - they were brutally bludgeoned to death with a hammer.
She risks calling Brenth Meredith, the FBI chief at Quantico.
The local Chief of cops, Chief Crane is convinced that both cases are not connected and was a one-off.

However, Meredith isn’t convinced. He gathers enough evidence with the help of Bill Jeffreys and Jenn Roston, as Riley Paige in on leave.
Once she’s back from her vacation, the team is sent off to Rushville to investigate.

Riley and her partners receive no help from Chief Crane and they seem to be drawing a blank with regards to clues and suspects. The one person who can help, Art Kuehling, Sam’s father - who was on the Bonnett case 10 years ago - is suffering from dementia and has never forgotten the fact that he was unable to bring the killer to justice.

Just when they thought that they weren’t progressing anywhere, the killer strikes again.
Is the killer the same person who murdered the Bonnett’s 10 years ago? Or is it someone emulating his action?
Will Riley and her team be able to stop a third murder?

Fast-paced and well written, the plot had a lot of twists.
And it was a good read, like the others in the series.

Another great installment in this series! Once Dormant finds Riley, Jenn, and Bill in a once-thriving small town looking for answers to a 10-year serial killing and now new murders seemingly committed with the same weapon, but more efficiency now. The bad guy clues bounce back and forth to keep the reader guessing, that's for sure. The murderer in this book is revealed to us at the same time it is revealed to Riley. You can practically visualize the light bulb! As always, Riley's personal life heats up when she's out of town on a case, and as always, she finds a way to sneak away and solve the new crisis at home. Well done, Blake Pierce.

What's worst than a serial killer? I'm telling you: a serial killer with total control of his actions.
And it's what happens here: they guy is so controlled that actually you wish a lot of mess.
I hade no clue who it was until the very precise moment Black decide to reveal it to me and the Riley!
Regarding the other side of the book: Jilly issue was quite obvious for me probably because I got through it and saw the red flags all over. After 1 volume without big switch of scenario it was pleasant to see again Riley's private life going (still in pieces but getting together at least)

Another great addition to the Riley Paige saga by Blake Pierce. Traveling to the South, our favorite trio continues to work in unconventional ways, breaking a few rules and covering for one another. Riley still feels torn between her life has a BAU agent and her home life with Blane and her family. But, despite her troubles at home and the team dealing with racial and gender prejudice, Riley and her partners team up with 2 local law enforcement officials to bring another unlikely killer to justice.

Dilemmas

How do you choose between a serial killer and a daughter that is harming herself? These are just two of the problems that Riley is faced with. But, she also found a young female police officer who is being stiffledin an all male police force. She is intelligent, and has a real feel for what needs to be done and by who. When she is proven right the FBI is offically called in to find the killer. I highly recommend this book.

This book is jam packed with new and exciting twists and turns. As always, Riley is trying to find the balance between work and home, but she is finally getting the hang of it. New characters that you love to hate. A promising small town cop who won't give up on solving a cold case and making a connection to a recent murder. The last half of this book was the best part. So far, this is one of my favorite books of the series.

A series of brutal murders years before has the local police wondering if the killer is back. Riley and her partners visit the dying town where nothing much happens. They find a female cop with great instincts but is underrated. Her father is briefly a suspect but he actually points them to the guilty party. Blaine and Riley are still feeling their way and wonder how to combine their families. Jilly is still having issues adapting and poor Riley has to fly back to be with her.

These books are incredibly addictive and as you can see from my reading list, I am reading them at the rate of knots. I have been devouring this series and every other series this author has written. What I will note, is that the books seem to be getting shorter at the same price point and the editing leaves a lot to be desired. However, the stories just bring me back for more and more and more.

Oh my god. This was so wonderful. I find myself falling for Riley and the way she carries herself in each and every situation. It was an interesting plot to know that there were not one but two killers and Riley could identify the difference. How she does it is unbelievable. Especially deducing the case in her dreams!!!

Enjoyable read !!!

I feel like this one brought back the true Riley Page! I loved the mix of personal life to the case she was on. I also really like how at times, the story comes from her partners point of views rather than only her own or the killers.

This case also has a different feel than others from past story lines. It is worth hanging in there for this book!

I really like this book but, being from Mississippi, the inaccuracy of the cities/towns mentioned was quite distracting. I am disappointed no one researched or caught that Rushville and Jacksonville are both in Missouri. Mississippi has Jackson and Ruleville. That being said, the book, plot and characters are as entertaining as all the Riley Paige books are.

Best series

I love the Riley Page Series!! It is like Fbi meets CSI in a book. I love how the main character Riley gets into the murders mind and her twisted relationship with an convicted murder. I just wish that book 15 was already released.

Things are going well for the most part in Riley's personal life. She even went on a two-week vacation and said NO to a case while she was there! Of course we all know what she did as soon as vacation was over! I'm glad she is getting more balance in her life.

An odd killer

This time I liked what was happening on the periphery of the killings. So Riley's family, her boyfriend, her kids, the cops and agents she worked with. The killer turned out to be a weird one, with motives I didn't really buy.

I've just read Blake Pierce's Riley Paige series 1-14. An OK quick read. They're kind of formulamatic (if that's a word). Once you've read a few of them, you can pretty much guess the outcome of the other books. Still, I liked the characters and the pace of Blake's writing.

I enjoyed this book and its premise very much. I've read a couple of Pierce's earlier Riley Paige books and was kept on the edge of my seat. This one did not disappoint.
