Redeemed
Annie

Jake

I gave her my heart, and I don’t do give-backs, so she’s stuck with it, whether she wants it or not. When I find out she’s in danger, I’ll move Heaven and Earth to protect her, regardless of what it costs me. She doesn’t owe me a thing, but damn, I’ll go to my knees for her. For just one look, one touch, one word.

Snowbound Fans of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series will love this new novella featuring Beth and Shane, as well as other favorites, including Luke, Sam, Cooper, Erin and Mack. This suspenseful Christmas novella will best be enjoyed as part of the series.
I write about alpha protectors who fall in love hard and unconditionally, through the good and the bad. My characters are strong, sexy, and slightly damaged... because no one is perfect. All of my novels have happy-ever-after endings. What else would you expect from a die-hard romantic? I'm the author of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series of contemporary romance novels.
I live in Ohio with my daughter and more than a few dogs and cats. When I'm not writing, I'm reading romance novels and watching movies with happy endings. I'd love to hear from you! You can e-mail me at aprilwilsonwrites@outlook.com. Or, visit my website: aprilwilsonauthor.com.
This box set has four books: Hostage, Redeemed, Marry Me and Snowbound.
Hostage and Snowbound both feature Beth McIntyre, so they were my least favorite of the set. Redeemed was my favorite. Marry Me was just... meh. These are reviewed out of the order in which the appear in the set.
So... Hostage...
Beth wants to squeeze in one more weekend away before her baby is born. Shane isn't really on board with this idea... Cooper is against it as well. But Beth wants what she wants... she's got 6 weeks before the baby is due, so there's nothing to worry about, is there? So, Shane gives in as he always seems to. On the way to the cabin, they make a pit stop and Beth and Lia end up trapped in a bathroom during a holdup. Of course, their fears are realized when the worst possible thing happens... Beth goes into premature labor.
I really couldn't deal with Beth in this book. Her insecurities and anxieties... oh my stars! I couldn't stand it. It didn't help that I've never liked this character, so it was nearly impossible for me to have any sympathy for her.
Snowbound was more of Beth doing what she wanted, even though Shane wanted her to do something else. A huge snowstorm unexpectedly blows their way. Beth and Sam have baby Luke at the bookstore when the weather take a turn. They close the store and send everyone home, but Beth and Sam, along with Erin, Mack and 2 other security men end up stranded in the store. That in itself may not have been so bad, but there's a group of looters in the area, and this puts the group in danger.
The thing that irked may very soul in this book was when Erin decided that she wasn't going to leave Mack downstairs by himself to guard the doors against the looters...and Beth decided that she couldn't leave Erin downstairs... never mind the fact that Beth has a baby to see to... or the fact that Sam could help Mack if Beth took the baby...or the fact that there were two other guards...OR the fact that Mack was an effin Marine. (Show me a Marine who needs civilian women for backup!?)
WTF?! What on Earth are these two women--unarmed, with no fighting skills--going to do? All they did was tick me off. And proved that Super B!tch Syndrome is contagious.
Anyway...
Marry Me... It was just meh. I don't think it really served a purpose. Jonah had apparently proposed to Lia several times and her insecurities kept getting in the way of her accepting. Is the eighth time the charm?
Redeemed... My favorite by far of this set! This is the story of Jake McIntyre and his high school love, Annie Elliott. Jake and Annie dated for three years (I think it was) in high school and planned to marry after they graduated. Annie's parents didn't think Jake was good enough for Annie, and they didn't want Annie to give up going to Harvard to be with Jake. Through events that weren't quite as random as they thought, Jake and Annie broke up. It wasn't until14 years later, when Annie and her 5-year-old son were in danger from her abusive ex-husband, that Jake and Annie were reunited... and found their feelings for each other were still just as strong.
This book had a nice bit of action and drama. I totally fell in love with Annie's son, Aiden. And I was so happy to see Jake happy and in love.
I know there are a few more books in this series... I really want to read mack and Erin's book!
Love this boxset. This boxset has 4 books, 2 full length novels & 2 novellas: * Book 7 is the fourth installment of Shane and Beth’s romance story. Shane and Beth are getting ready for their first child. Before the baby comes, Beth wants one last mini vacation. She gets Shane to agree and she invites Lia and Jonah to go with them. On the ride, Beth needs to use the bathroom. So they make a quick stop at a small convenience store. While Beth is going the bathroom, three gun shots go off. Lia ends Beth up hiding in the attic where Beth’s water breaks and she has her son 6 weeks prematurely. This causes her to suffer from post-parfumerie depression. * Book 8 is Annie and Jake’s romance story. Annie and Jake were high school sweethearts until Annie’ parents meddled which ends up breaking them a part. About 14 years later, Annie and her son, Aiden needs protection from her ex husband. Annie’s father hires Shane’s company to protect Annie. Jake ends up taking the case. When he laid eyes on Annie, his feelings came back and he knew that he needed to make her his. He also claimed Aiden as his son. * Book 9 is the second installment of Lia and Jonah. Jonah worries about Lia’s safety as she protects him from over abundant fans. He ends up talking to Lia about looking at a house across from the house that Annie and Jake are buying in a gated community. She agrees to look. As she is looking at the house, she starts noticing the pros about Jonah safety being living in the gated community. * Book 10 is the fifth installment of Beth and Shane. It’s Christmas Eve and Chicago ends up getting a huge blizzard which leaves Beth, Sam, and Lucas stranded at Clancy’s. Shane and Cooper are stranded at Shane’s company’s building. Shane, Cooper, and some of Shane’s employees ended up hitchhiking to Clancy’s so Shane and Cooper can be with their significant others.
What a wonderful set of books, I would recommend starting with box set 1, and just keep going, loved how the characters from the first carry right through in bits and pieces, so we get a tiny update as their life continues, I was glued to all 3 box sets, some fantastic writing, Love Shane and Beth, and fell in love with cooper and Sam., that's not fair on all the other characters because they were all brilliant and easy to fall in love with, I couldn't recommend these books enough, it has it all, drama (lots of), well written sex scene's, overall great reads. I have just now downloaded book 11, and can't wait
First story Hostage, about Beth’s delivery was good. Addressing this like depression is important. This made me like Shane even more so. Second story, Redeemed gave me a different view of Jake. He was nothing like the previous books portray him. Aiden was adorable. Third story, Marry Me, about Lia and Jonah was perfect. I love this couple and was happy with how Jonah eases her into a real relationship The last story, Snowbound, was a great novella featuring some of our favs.
As much as I like Shane and Beth, I would rather more of the stories be about some of the other couples, or new ones altogether. I love being able to read more about a couple that's already been featured, but it seems like this series is primarily about Shane and Beth, with the others almost as an afterthought. There's plenty of new characters that would make fantastic stories, and hopefully they'll get theirs soon. I would recommend this book, series, and author.
Well if you love the McIntyre’s series you will already love Shane and Beth, this boxset bring together books 7 to 10.
Hostage - Fantastic, heartbreaking and emotional
Well the 7th book in the series was amazing, with the very sensitive subject of premature babies, told very well and the post natal issues that come with it. Brilliant story. Jake next :-)
Redeemed - amazing
I very much enjoyed Redeemed, had a Beta copy as I’d never read any of Aprils books to see if It worked as a stand alone. Good storyline, kept me interested enough to wonder what would come next, of course there are juicy bits which are most definitely page turners. As I’d not read any of April’s other books I had no history for the family, not too much was given away, I hope not too much as it’s made me intrigued enough to want to go and read her first series now, so if that’s the intention, it works. I certainly didn’t feel I was missing out not knowing the family, so seems to work as a stand alone. Loved Jake and Annie’s story definitely a heartbreaking read at points. Well worth the read, having since read most of the first series this does work as a stand alone but would be better read after the first series. Can’t wait for what comes next. Thanks April.
Marry Me - Loved it
Brilliant continuation of the McIntyre series. Love Lia and Jonah, she’s a feisty character and he’s just so lovable. It’s like being back home when you get to read more of April’s books , getting to know each characters like they’re family. Can’t wait for more.
Snowbound - freakin awesome
Wonderful Novela
Catching up with the McIntyre clan is always special. This winter Christmas special was wonderful, Just can’t get enough of these books. You can see new stories in the making developing in this one. Looking forward to Mack and Erin’s book and possibly Ingrid and Joe too 🤔
I chose this rating because this was actually a really good series. I really enjoyed all of the characters in this box set. There were some great actual moments in this box set and also some funny ones. I really like this box set. On to the next book in the series. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance. Also mystery lovers.readers
As this family on you so does the wonderful story. Even though there is a plethora of physical love show there is enough family love and loyalty demonstrated that mankind would do well to take note of. If you aren't comfortable with the physical content in the story skip it and thoroughly dive into the uplifting portions.
Love that this terrific series has batched the books together. My favorite rereads. This series has everything.... stalkers, murder, cancer, blindness, so much more But best of all it has love and lots of it. You can’t help but feel like family.

So easy to love to set books. You fall in love with all of the characters, their stories and emotional connections to their partners. Fantastic erotic scenes as well as emotional connections to each character.
I’ve enjoyed every one of these books, and this was no exception. It’s shorter than most, but is a delicious update to prior action and a preview of coming adventures. I can’t wait for more.
Always there to protect you in times of trouble even when you might have done them wrong. The McIntyre series is all about caring and protecting those in need. Love these books!!
