THESE ACTION-PACKED CASEY JONES ADVENTURES MAY BREAK YOUR FUNNYBONE, BUT THEY WON’T BREAK YOUR WALLET! “Casey Jones joins the ranks of smart and gutsy heroines. The South will never be the same. Don't miss her.”Janet Evanovich

“She is smart, tough, and tenacious... a wonderfully entertaining read.” —Publisher’s Weekly

Casey Jones cannot be beat for rowdy, action-packed adventures with humor, romance, and hard-boiled mayhem aplenty. She’s hot, she’s hilarious, and she’s so headstrong her quasi-boss Bobby D. can only shake his massive head and do as the lady says. The hot and hilarious parts go hand-in-hand as the plus-size detective fantasizes her way through a small army of possible inamoratos, now and then anointing one or another, although always off the page and always accompanied by a wisecrack or three.
(“I feel like I’ve been in a train wreck,” says one.
“Of course you do,” replies his lovely date. “Why do you think they call me Casey Jones?”)

LEGWORK, Vol. 1
Author Munger masterfully blends nail-biting suspense with Casey’s hilarious wisecracking narration as she navigates an unsavory southern stew of crooked politicians, crooked cops, old grudges, ancient crimes, and everyone’s favorite, dysfunctional families.
OUT OF TIME, Vol. 2
The family of a death row inmate just isn’t buying the story that she killed her cop husband, and they’ve hired North Carolina’s mouthiest female sleuth to save her from lethal injection—in a month.
MONEY TO BURN, Vol. 3
When a favorite client gets killed on her watch, Casey vows to find the killer no matter what killers, arsonists, rapists, and spoiled rotten socialites get in her way. Then, to the cynical sleuth’s chagrin—everyone all around her starts falling in love…just before Casey herself is smitten.
BAD TO THE BONE, Vol. 4
BAD TO THE BONE is a rowdy, action-packed adventure with humor, romance, and hard-boiled mayhem aplenty. Its two greatest delights are its vivid antagonists, the big-hearted, tough PI and the petite, pernicious femme fatale, locked in a catfight that should have its own arena.
BETTER OFF DEAD, Vol. 5
Along with their significant others and the gardener, Casey and her oversize partner, Bobby, move in with a rape victim who’s receiving threatening phone calls. The victim knows exactly who attacked her, was tried for it, got away with it and who, she’s sure, is still getting away with it.
BAD MOON ON THE RISE, Vol. 6
Casey follows the trail of a missing basketball star to a prison town in the North Carolina mountains. In order to help out the very hot local sheriff investigate suspicious goings-on in the prison, Casey agrees to be locked up for a week inside a prison once again. Watch for the all-time best ever laugh-out-loud prison break!
FIRE AND RAIN, Vol. 7
Casey has her hands full avenging the death of one of her oldest friends—while trying to keep unruly strippers and bikers in line. What should have been a routine bodyguarding case has turned deadly and personal in more ways than one. Her friend is dead, one of the strippers she’s guarding is missing, and the handsome biker Casey met the night before sure seems to be in it up to his neck!

Always a rip-roaring romp, these page-turners will appeal to fans of all female sleuth myster

Really enjoyed this series. An older heroine who loves her food, is fuller-figured and has a wry humour. Her love life is varied and she has no regrets. The stories are entertaining with a few sombre moments, but overall enjoyable. Good mysteries and re-occurring, likeable side characters. I love her boss, Bobby D.! Recommend for anyone wanting a PI story with a difference.

Hired help

Some people are victims while others realize that if they don't help nobody will. Jumping in feet first and worrying about the consequences later might not be the smartest reaction, but it does tend to sum up Casey Jones.
I think there needs to be a better definition of morbidly fat partner (300 + lbs) bars a big girl with a big but (who weighs in at approximately 200 lbs).
I do love a female that knows how capable they are and aren't afraid to prove it. I'd like to find one of those good guys she stumbles into for myself, she can keep the sexy low lives.

Highly entertaining. Will definitely recommend these to friends.

Seven amazing books

Casey Jones is amazing, as is the people that love her. The writing is amongst the best I have ever read in mysteries. The humor leaps out at you and says you must laugh now!

The problems that are below have nothing to do with the author, so I didn't take away stars.

There are a lot of paragraph breaks in the middle of sentences, that puts me off the flow of the story. That is what happens when you change from a PDF format to MOBI or EPUB format. You have to change it from .txt for a smoother transition.

I have a hard time reading a book if the first chapter does not keep me guessing.

The character of the books Casey Jones is a strong women. Casey is smart but vulnerable to her faults which usually gets her in trouble. Casey is able to solve her cases with by keeping close contact with friends who although they admire her tenacity she is a pain in their behinds. The books are quick reads with humour, mystery and danger. Casey keeps on once she starts she does not quit and she keeps her promises. Highly recommended these books.

A seriously good read

Sometimes I just had to laugh out loud, Casey was so funny. The plots were fun, the action fast. Some of her men were better than others. I grew attached to the regular characters, even though I gagged every time I read about Bobby D's meals and snacks.
This North Carolina girl loved the settings, as well as the insight into its people.
Thanks for a fun series. I will re-read it sometime soon.

This has been a great series that evolved over time. In the earlier stories cell phones are an extreme luxury, but by the 7th story, they're commonplace. Casey has also put on a few years and a few pounds, but she is still the biggest hearted (non)private eye in the Carolina's. Maybe it's time for a more mature Casey Jones series? Just thinking out loud.

Very well done.

I must admit, the endings often reminded me of the last half of Tolkien's 3rd part of LOTR, lol. But she is compelled to tidy up all the loose threads, and there are a LOT of them! Each book, though, kept me turning those pages. Prepare to enjoy the journeys of Casey Jones!

Mostly hard boiled private eye is a good egg

Semi-legal female private eye in North Carolina keeps chugging on, solving cases, making fun of her butterball boss & his eating habits. Her colorful clients add to the gumbo that is the life of Private eye Casey Jones. The Porsche died, but it was to unique.

A really entertaining series of novels.

A lot of humor and suspense in the tales of Casey Jones, a former felon now employed as an unlicensed private investigator.
Casey and her associates solve a number of cases In North Carolina dancing along the edges of the law with humor and Southern Style.

I made it through book 1. There are too many errors in the text that should have been caught in proofreading for me to wish to read anything else written by the author of this atrocity. Fortunately I got the books for free. I'll not buy anything by this writer.

The story was probably pretty good and I might have liked it if it were more readable.

Crass

It could have been good but the topics are spoken of crudely and the speech was crass there is swearing as well. Not my kind of authour, and that was only a page into the books!

Good

Entertaining. Good writing style. A bunch of cliches. Good characters. The books are stand alone but I'd still wonder what happened to so and so. With the whole series package, free btw, the characters come back in and out through the adventures.

This is a great series that follows an unforgettable main character solving mysteries and fighting for justice with or without official police help. In addition to riveting drama there are many moments of laugh-out-loud humor.

Quick and fun

I very much enjoyed reading the Casey Jones series. she seems to get herself into trouble and meet the most interesting people. The supporting characters are great and the stories are interesting. If you like comedy with your mystery this is the series for you.

Hard nose ,ass kicking , stepped up version of Stephanie plum.

Very entertaining read. Sometimes Casey, was a tad too "hard around the edges" for n taste, but all in all all characters were interesting and very diversified. Good summer reading.

Great Series. Casey Jones is a complex woman with a good heart. You will truly enjoy getting to know Casey and the cast of characters

Strong character with great friends. You’ll enjoy reading about her exploits and you’ll also cringe at how her stubbornness keeps her in danger.

I loved reading these. I think I may try to pick up a few more. Casey is a snarky no holds barred female PI. I like reading strong female characters acting in traditionally male jobs. She admits she has her flaws and that she may need help from guys occasionally.

Great series, I LOVED it!!! The characters were so real and relatable. Casey is a genuine private investigator hero who does things her own way, with humor and honesty. She is an excellent, well developed character. I couldn't wait to see what capers she got into next!

Riveting

Casey is the most real girl I have ever read about. Not one of those Barbie types. The stories are riveting and kept me in suspense . I will read more of Casey Jones.
