Tinley Blake has written a wonderful 5-star book about the relationship up and downs of Frankie and Beau. This all started when Beau is at Joe's bar getting drunk/ His father has just passed away and he doesn't know what to do now. As he is sitting there he notices Jack walk up to a woman and then he hears her tell him no she doesn't want to dance. Jack then grabs her arm and this is when he stops Jack from hurting Frankie. Beau tells Jack to leave the lady alone and Jack asks Beau What's it to you. Beau knocks Jack down and then sits down next to Frankie and orders drinks. They start talking and a little bit later leave together and go back to her hotel room where Beau spends the night. The next morning Beau has to be at his father's lawyer's office and when he gets there he is told they have to wait on someone else. The lawyer tells him that they are waiting on Francessa his father's daughter. To say that Beau is shocked when the door opens and in walks the woman he spent the night with. He did not know that his adopted dad had a daughter and to find out now that the ranch he thought was his, is now split. He gets the home, but she gets the land it is on. Beau is not happy and he lets her know it. Frankie tells Beau she doesn't want anything to do with the ranch and leaves. 3 months later Beau comes home after picking up Blake and Calvin to see Frankie standing on his porch, he yells "What are you doing here?" She is there to tell Beau that she is pregnant with his child but before she can Blake starts talking to her and Frankie finds out that Blake is the person she is to have an interview with the next morning for a Vet position at Blake's clinic. Things don't go well between Frankie and Beau at first but they end up talking things out and start a relationship. Things take a turn for the worst when Frankie finds Beau's Birth Certificate with her father's name as his father. She knows she can't stay there knowing that Beau is her brother and also the father of her baby so she packs up and leaves. Beau comes home to find Frankie gone and he calls her but she doesn't answer any of his calls. A few months go by and Blake calls him and tells him to get to her house, she may have found where Frankie is. After Blake tells him what she has found out, Calvin's mom Katherine comes in and wants to know what is going on so they tell her everything. She then in turns tells Beau a story about his real father and tells him that his adopted father is not his real father. After this Beau goes after Frankie when he gets to where she is supposed to be he goes to a coffee shop and asks the clerk if she has seen Frankie. She tells him no. As he is walking out the door his phone rings and shows Frankie calling but it's not Frankie it is a police officer telling him that Frankie is at the hospital in labor. When he gets to her room, the nurse at Frankie's side asks if he is Beau and he said he was. The nurse tells him that the doctor has Frankie on medication to stop her labor because it is still a little early for the twins to be born. Frankie wakes up and thinks she is dreaming. Beau is sitting beside her bed holding her hand. He sees that she is awake and tells her Good morning beautiful. He asks how she feels after her nap and she tells him good and then goes back to sleep. When she wakes up again, Beau tells her that he has so much to tell her but she asks him "What are you doing here. She tells him that they can't be together, it's wrong and he comes back to tell her there is nothing wrong with them being together, he then tells her what Katherine told him about his real dad. She wants to believe him in what he has told her but she is not sure so Beau tells her that he will order a DNA test. He gets Frankie back home and things are going good for them. She wakes up one morning and goes to get a cup of coffee and her water breaks, she calls Beau and then goes to get her bag. When she gets outside Beau is just getting there and they go to the hospital. When they get to the hospital Calvin is in the waiting area and tells Beau "Thank God you are here" Beau asks Calvin how he got there so fast and was told that Blake was in labor. That is when Calvin sees that Frankie is with Beau and she is in labor too.
This book was a wonderful read and Frankie and Beau had a few ups and downs and in order to find out what all they were you will need to read the book. It will not disappoint you.
I received an ARC of this book for my voluntarily and honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "THE WAY WE FOUGHT" What a rollercoaster ride of emotions, drama, secrets, lies, angst, compilations, pain, sorrow, loss, grief, passion, twists you didn't see coming this was my first book by Tinley Blake very well written.

At the lawyers office for the reading of Beau's father Jim's will his surprise when he see's Frankie his one night stand there and finds he had a sister he knew nothing about for 22yrs.
Beau gets the ranch and Frankie gets the land so much confusion, secrets, lies, his father kept from his causeing so much pain but also great joy their relationship is complicated to say the least a past with so much deceipt.
This is definitely a must have book so well worth the read a page turner for sure so much happens you can't put this book down until finushed reading I thoroughly enjoyed I highly recomnend it won't disappoint.

In the first book this author made us see how deeply 2 could love. This time she shows us just how hard these two will fight to have their hea. One night was all it took. Somehow they were able to squeeze out a little joy, just a little bit of peace in the middle of a storm. No names. No promises. Just some time to forget the outside world. How could they know they shared sorrow. Shared pain. Shared in loss. A loss, a connection, pain that would unravel a mystery they didn't know was there. A past that was filled with pain and deceit.

This author is new on the scene and not playing it safe. There's an edge to her style and she definitely pours out the emotions as she takes you on a ride that can be someones life. It's emotional and gritty and downright dirty and worth every minute spent devouring it. You'll feel these characters, their connection, their pain, their confusion, their torment, their love and the way they fought for it all.

I was looking forward to reading Beau’s story, ever since I finished The Way We Loved, Blake and Cal’s story. Tinley Blake you didn’t disappoint. I loved Beau’s story. Beau meets Frankie for the first time at Joe’s Bar, when she’s refusing to dance with Jack. They have a one night stand. The next time he sees her is at his dad’s funeral, but the kicker is when he sees her next. It’s at Jim’s estate lawyer’s office and he learns Frankie is his sister. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say there’s a lot of secrets waiting to be uncovered. Grab your copy and see what happens. The bonus is we get to read even more about Blake and Cal.

What a great story of Beau and Frankie's love. I'm loving this small town romance. We still see the characters from the first book Blake and Calvin here. I'm glad I have found this author and how she writes about ordinary peoples lives and their struggles. I would recommend reading this new author to everyone. Thank you for your time in reading this.

I was a little unsure at first how this book was going to play out. Which was a good thing for me. It wasn’t a typical book I knew the plot line of. That was nice.

Tinley gave the reader many twists and turns in this book... so many unexpected things happen that leave the reader wondering how the character would’ve gotten out of the situation. Not your typical romance read but the heat and fire that Frankie and Beau experienced was amazing.

While this book is a stand-alone, reading the first book The Way We Loved would feel like you’re completing and rounding out the story in reading this next step in The Way We Fought. The title makes you think one thing but takes you on another path. I enjoyed reading their story and will now go back and read the first book, even if I read them out of order!

Readers met Beau in the book The Way We Loved and here he is with his own story to tell that will pull at the heartstrings. Beau just lost his father and is drowning his sorrows at a bar when he intercedes as another patron, Jack, is attempting to bother a woman, Frankie, who is not interested in his advances. When Beau begrudgingly gets Jack to leave, he and Frankie chat briefly and wind up leaving together to have a one-night stand. Figuring that he would never see Frankie again but unable to stop thinking about her, Beau gets one heck of a surprise when he bumps into her again at his father’s attorney’s office going over his will. To say that Beau is not pleased is an understatement and he goes out of his way to be impolite in his dealings with her. However, Frankie is not without her own surprises but makes a commitment to tell Beau the truth. How will he react when she breaks the news? To add more fuel to the fire, there is a twist to the budding relationship between Frankie and Beau that could shatter any chance of a reconciliation and may even lead to putting Frankie in peril. This is a well written storyline that has wonderful characters with drama that will put readers through the ringer. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.

This is one beautiful small town love story with many unexpected twist and turns that make this story a love you’ll never forget. This is a stand alone, I would recommend you read The Way We Loved, where we meet Beau. When Beau’s step dad passes he finds out during the will reading he has a sister the day after he spends one amazing night with a stranger, Frankie with her thinking his name is Mack and never sharing her name. Beau is shocked that Frankie gets the land and he gets the ranch and neither can sell without the others permission. These two never knew about each other so 3 months later Frankie returns for a job with Blake, Beau’s sister in law. They have their ups and downs and when the unthinkable seems possible Frankie runs away so quickly that Beau can not figure out how to get her back. Frankie discovered half the story and then Beau gets the other half but with Frankie going silent he can not get Frankie to see the history and how if affects them and those around them. Tinley Blake created a magical couple and town in The Way We Fought. Beau and Frankie were instantly drawn to each other when they met in a bar one night without knowing that they were connected in other ways. Once they realize they are connected, they were angry and take out those feelings on each but their chemistry is too strong to deny.

The Way We Fought has so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Through it all, you can feel the depth of Beau and Frankie’s feelings and their longing to be together. That longing came across the pages and into your heart. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see how the story would end. They truly went through a lot to fight for their relationship.

This was my first book by Tinley Blake, but I have already downloaded the first book in this series about Beau and Frankie’s friends. I do wish I had read that book first, but I didn’t miss anything by not reading it. I was sad when the book ended because it was like saying goodbye to old friends. Tinley Blake has created a beautiful love story!!

I adored Blake and Cal’s story, so when I learned that Beau would have his say as well, I knew I had to read it. This was an emotional roller-coaster in the most classic textbook definition. It’s also a case study in how knotted up family ties can get in a small town; the sins of the father, and all that. Similar to Cal and Blake, Beau and Frankie and coming at the same situation from polar opposite experiences. They’ve also got some heavy baggage about Frankie’s father – the man who raised Beau, as well as about each other that needs to be unpacked and cleared away. I loved these characters. I loved them together. I can’t really support Frankie’s way of handling news she didn’t like, but I can understand receiving such a shock and not knowing a good way to deal with it. I kind of hate that the book’s over already. I want to keep reading about these characters for a long time to come.

This is a contemporary standalone romance with interconnected characters from The Way We Loved (Calvin & Blake). Remember Beau, best friends with Blakelynn? Well, this is his story, and it takes place right after his dad has died. People do things they don’t normally do in the rawness of their grief. Beau sure does it. He has an unforgettable one night stand with Frankie, who is struggling with a loss of her own. Their journey from strangers to lovers, and beyond, is complex in a way that most people will never have to deal with. Their love is true, the circumstances untenable and heart-wrenching. While I loved Beau's tenacity, I didn’t think Frankie was a runner, given she initially and determinedly tracked down Beau. A solid read.

I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

The other shoe doesn’t just drop, it free falls from 1000 feet
The Way We Fought by Tinley Blake is the first romance novel I have read by this author. I enjoyed her style of writing; precise without skimping too much on detail.
I really like her characters once the book got into a groove and in the depths of the plot for Frankie and Beau. The major twist mid-way through I expected (things were just going too well at that point!) but I was so invested in these two and their outcome, I was still totally enthralled and compelled to read to the end.
Overall, a good read by a new to me author which made it a pleasant surprise. And, I always appreciate a HEA. This author does Frankie and Beau justice with a really sweet one.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.

I was so excited to read The Way We Fought that I didn’t even read the blurb to be honest. I loved The Way We Loved so much that this was an automatic read for me as soon as I heard about its expected release. This book exceeded any and all expectations I had. This story is about two people who randomly meet one night and have an instant connection, never realizing exactly how strong the ties between them really are or will be in the future. The relationship between Beau and Frankie is this delicious taboo tumultuous relationship with amazing surprises, unexpected twists and a lot of heart. It was so sexy and well-written with a wonderful love story that made me tear up a few times. Ugh, I just loved it so much. This is a book that must be on your TBR! I really pray we get more stories involving these couples and this town.

A swoon worthy read from start to finish! I read this book rather quickly because I had to know Beau and Frankie’s fate. They have lovely chemistry that put a smile on my face. Sparks fly from their first encounter, and quickly fall for each other. Their story has a few unexpected turns, and secrets that try to tear them apart. I love the storyline and how everything unfolds.

This story has strong friendships and strong family bonds. The connections between Beau, Calvin, and Blake are great, and also the friendship that grows between Blake and Frankie. I’m so glad we got Beau’s story, because I absolutely loved him in book 1. Beau is SWOON! An enjoyable romance with a HEA that I highly recommend!

This is Beau's story and we briefly meet him in The Way We Loved since he is Blakelynn's best friend. Beau and Frankie meet at a bar and have one night together and the see each other the next day at the lawyer's office not knowing the truth about who each other is. Frankie and Beau's one night together leads to a secret that will change Frankie's life forever. Family secrets, lies and lack of trust comes to the fore front with Frankie and Beau. But will Frankie's little secret that she has ruin her shot at having a relationship with Beau. Will they get there happily ever after??? Read this book and find out what happens with Frankie and Beau.

I received an early copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A hard won love

The Way We Fought is Tinley Blake’s second book and occurs pretty much at the same time as Calvin and Blake’s story in The Way We Loved. There we met the handsome and generous hearted Beau McIntyre who was best friends to them both. We knew Beau was under stress and somewhat pre-occupied at times, and I hoped we would be getting his story.

Well, here it is. And once again, Ms. Blake has put together a beautiful one-night-stand, enemies-to-lovers romance that you will want to read in one hit.

In a story of family secrets and lies, Frankie and Beau fight an instant attraction where two souls recognise each other, but due to circumstances wonder if they will indeed get to be together. An absolutely enjoyable read. 4 stars 💖

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the second book by this author and also the second book in this series. I loved this first book and couldn't wait for this one.
Beau is grieving the loss of his father and ends up rescuing a woman from the town drunk. It quickly turns into a one night stand that months later he can't get off his mind. Especially after he seen her at his father's will reading.
Frankie has always wanted to be apart of a big family and that's exactly what she found when she arrives at Point of Retreat rehabilitation clinic. Only she is carrying a huge secret with her. She can only hope they won't toss her once they find out.
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from this author.

Really Great small town read that packed quite a bit of drama and unusual situations. I told my husband what had happened within the first 2 chapters, and he about died, haha, If he only knew it got worse. I don't want to let out the major drama /issues, although I think it already been said. The main characters are connected in a very unexpected, surprising way.
Beau, we meet in The way we Love and He was such an amazing friend to Blake and Calvin, I just knew he was gonna be a swoon-worthy country guy. He did not disappoint and really put his self out there with Frankie, even when he tried to be mean and spiteful he was still kinda sweet. Just a great read with several twists.

Frankie and Beau meet at the bar and share a night together. When Beau shows up the next morning at the lawyer's office for the reading of his dad's will, he is surprised that Frankie is also there. Turns out, she is his "sister", although Beau was adopted and they have no real blood connection. Frankie leaves, but returns months later when she discovers she is pregnant. Can Frankie and Beau work through all of the problems that face them or will they live apart? Grab this wonderfully developed story today. I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am gladly leaving this review.

All in the family (sort of).

Or, a family affair (twice over).
Beau let’s loose the night before he buries his father, Jim. He hooks up with Frankie, who he met in a bar.

Turns out, she’s his sister (sort of). Frankie is Jim’s biological daughter from an affair he had. Beau is adopted by Jim. Let’s just say he didn’t know about Frankie.

But the story really gets going when she shows up for the wedding. Beau is quite frankly, an ass to her.
Thankfully, Frankie can hold her own.
And it’s on. Well, they have to figure out what they are to each other.

Recommend.

Emotional Ranching Romance!

Complicated family interconnections find Beau and Frankie mourning the same man. Beau was adopted, and Frankie did not know her father until she reached age 18. Beau inherits the ranch; Frankie inherits the land.

This is not all that is complicated in this story. The reader will adore both characters and feel for their struggle. An emotional journey, and a chance for a lifetime of happiness.

Completely captivating read and one I highly recommend.

Awesome!
Although this is the second book in this series, it works beautifully as a standalone. When first you practice to deceive seems not to have affected the deceiver, but it seriously affected Blake and Frankie. Their stories and combined story make for an absolutely terrific read. I found myself unable to “put the book down” until I’d finished it. What an ending!! I’ve already gotten her first book to read ASAP!

I received this for an honest review!
I love a great story about accidental pregnancies and this one isn’t let me down. There is a lot of drama revolving around the parents of said babies and their parents before them, but it is definitely a story that will keep you on your toes and have you begging for answers before the end of it. I really hope that Blake and a Calvin have story to read. To friends turned lovers would be great. Almost a good as siblings turned lovers, gasp!

Tinley has a great style of writing. It is very vivid and written so clearly, I can really visualize the whole story as I read. The story of Beau and Frankie is a great one. They start off on a rocky path, but soon things change. I love the ranch setting and the fact that Calvin and Blake are great supporting characters in this book. Great writing kept me hooked from page one! I would definitely recommend this book.

There is something that attracts these two souls, not just attraction and chemistry but a strong connection. I loved this story it was an enemy to lover, forbidden, surprise pregnancy, with lots of angst. Beau and Frankie were always connected even if the didn't know it. These two had such feelings for each other even though they didn't know how to handle them. I also loved the connection Frankie had with Cal and Blake. It was all just meant to be.
