Initially, I was not sure what to make of this book. The main theme of the LifeClock is almost not connected to astrology. According to the book there is an inherent process that takes place as we age with certain milestones at certain ages. Perhaps you can say that is related to astrology like in Cycles of Becoming: The Planetary Pattern of Growth by Alexander Ruperti, where he states we have our midlife crises at 42 when Transiting Uranus Opposes Natal Uranus.
It does connect with Astrology when it states that as the age clock moves, almost like a transit, when it reaches planets in your chart, those planets are majorly activated. I did some preliminary checking on my own chart and enough interesting things came up that makes it worthwhile for further research. Perhaps I will update this review when I get a chance to do so.
I really liked the following description of transits to Pluto. He was referring to when the life clock passes over ones Pluto, but I think it’s a great description for any Pluto transit or progression:
“The hand of Pluto will often tear off any mask which is not representative of our true [Self]. Pluto is the harbinger of a higher stage of development and announces to our astonished ears that the world is different from what we thought it was; it pulls aside the surface of things to show us their inner workings.
During [a] transit of Pluto it is not unusual for the native to be confronted with his “shadow.” His compulsions and inadequacies become painfully obvious. Matters which have been put to one side half-finished now clamor for attention; repressions grow harder to live with. Perhaps the conscience wakes up and persuades the native to try and turn over a new leaf. Probably he will be able to see himself “warts and all” and will know what he has to do to improve. One thing at least is clear: old forms have to be abandoned and old rules scrapped; risks must be faced and anxieties overcome. In individual development, one frequently senses an influx of fresh energy, because Pluto activates the nuclear forces involved in one’s deepest motivation.
It impinges directly on the center of a person’s being and releases the energies of the will; which then tend to bring him in line with his…image of his higher self. Far reaching changes take place in the ego, changes spilling over into everyday life which may even alter the appearance. It is impossible to continue in the same old rut.” - Pg. 192
It is one of the most valuable books I have ever read in astrology. It is very informative and very well organized. I have checked the method for various persons and have found extremely matching results. In general Huber's works are splendid. They do not base on assumptions, as is usually the case in astrology, but on deep and long-term research. In fact, the book is very full, it would be equivalent to 2-3 books.
